So, what's your take on it?

How did you end up in the business, anyway?

Actually, you translated that line in another thread, so there are lots of people who know what it means.

Vices of mine:
- Warlocks
- vodka with red bull
- several that are, uh, not quite G-rated, but quite... stimulating

If you look beyond the name-calling, TM actually has a lot to contribute. Frankly, his ideas are always more interesting than most, and they are sometimes more intelligent.

The personal attacks are lame, but you have to admit he's an equal opportunity insulter. He calls things like he sees them. Yeah, sometimes it's distasteful, but I find that far preferable to using ugly language in a calculated attack on someone (see the first post in this thread).

Finally, your reference to "an innocent newbie who seemed could have contributed a lot to these boards" has got to be a joke. Everyone here could theoretically contribute a lot if they wanted, but let's be fair, nothing about the newbie in question made him a likely candidate. Spamming is lame, and lying is lamer.

I'd take BoE or BoA, simply for the scenario creation engine (and probably BoE, since I know I can use all of its features without consulting the net for help). There's no way that playing any one game is gonna be interesting for that long.

OTOH, the question of whether aggravating a gentleman for fun is ladylike is not so simply answered.

Conservative and liberal are terms with meanings that fluctuate greatly over time (and also place). It does seem to me that they tend to be used in ways that are not terribly meaningful beyond the level of distinguishing who's on your team and who can you shoot the spitwads at.

Okay, I'll bite. What's the non-anti-homosexual version of Romans 1:26-27?
Among other sites, you can find an interesting exposition of that passage here: http://www.religioustolerance.org/hom_bibc3.htm. I'm not sure the site is really as impartial as it claims to be. However, it does make an interesting case, suggesting that the passage was not intended as a point blank condemnation of homosexuality.

There's a neat table presenting both points of view on many biblical passages relating to homosexuality here: http://www.ambs.edu/LJohns/Homosexuality.htm, if you scroll past the Mennonite comments at the top.

It would be interesting to break the results down by forum. I was surprised by some of the high numbers too, but I've mostly only read General this month, so some of those probably come from other forums. OTOH, last month almost all my posts were in Av4, surely an oddity among the "top" 10.

I imagine the results of your unethical study would vary greatly depending on the environment of the primitive monogenders.

Aran, when you post these topics, how often do you get a reply along the lines of "You're really weird"?

Just curious. Don't worry, I don't think you're weird. Mostly.

Without saying that your conclusion is necessarily wrong, Alo, it's worth pointing out that primates closely related to humans have their own cultures. So, that's not a very good control test after all.

Yes and no, Synergy. Unfortunately, Spirited Away was the first Miyazaki I saw, and it left me with rather high expectations which his others haven't lived up to. (Actually, that's not entirely true; I saw Princess Mononoke a long time ago, but I barely remembered it.) When I first saw Howl's Moving Castle, I was horrified. I felt it had all the individual elements that made Spirited Away so wonderful, but without such an impressive constellating of them. I still liked it, of course. I had similar reactions to the others I've seen.

Yeah, what Kel said.

However, keep in mind that you can get a good education at almost any school. There may be opportunities for specialization at a top-tier school that you don't have elsewhere, and the student body will definitely be different. But professors at big name schools aren't necessarily better teachers -- sometimes the opposite, since they may be pressed to "publish or perish."
