I hate stupid threads. Therefore, I hate every thread that i've ever started. Ever (which isn't that many, actually). Anyway, If you were stuck on a desert island for 4 weeks, but you got to choose 1 of Spiderweb's games to bring with you (along with a computer and a generator of course), and you were just poofed there, butt naked, which game would you choose? (prepares for thread to be locked...) -------------------- "I come for the chugga... but I stay for the wiggy wugga."-Cheerleader Posts: 35 | Registered: Saturday, February 11 2006 08:00 |

If I was naked, I'd wanna play BoA baby. I would've said BoE. But I don't like the combat engine... Either BoA or A2. -------------------- And when you want to Live How do you start? Where do you go? Who do you need to know? Posts: 2864 | Registered: Monday, September 8 2003 07:00 |

Ocean Bound would be perfect for the irony. —Alorael, who would choose BoE as long as he could take a rather large pile of BoE scenarios with him. Four weeks of VoDT, ASM, and ZKR would be deadly. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |

Maybe the question should be: If the only thing you had was Homeland, would you play it? I would also take BoE, as long as it had most of the good scenarios with it. -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

Weirdly enough, I'd take BoA. It would be something new; it has tons of good scenarios. And well, if I go through the same GF plot again, I'll die. Posts: 1035 | Registered: Friday, April 1 2005 08:00 |

I'd take BoE or BoA, simply for the scenario creation engine (and probably BoE, since I know I can use all of its features without consulting the net for help). There's no way that playing any one game is gonna be interesting for that long. -------------------- Slarty vs. Desk • Desk vs. Slarty • Timeline of Ermarian • G4 Strategy Central Posts: 3560 | Registered: Wednesday, November 7 2001 08:00 |

I'll take BoA. is it also allowed to take the BoA editor with me? in that case, I could start a new scenario. I could be busy with that for some long time... -------------------- Play and rate my scenarios: Where the rivers meet View my upcoming scenario: The Nephil Search: Escape. Give us your drek! Instead of a computer with Spidweb games, I'd take enough drinking water and food for four weeks, a large tent with openings on two sides and a strong fan. Spidweb games are good, but not good enough to starve/die of heat stroke for. :) EDIT: Apparently, I can't read. The number of weeks had been fixed. You're only there for four weeks. People could play it when you get back. Unless, that is, it doesn't come back with you. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! Deep down, you wish you were a stick figure. Posts: 1629 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

I'm not sure it would matter which game, as I would devote all my energy to surviving the 4 weeks. I'll just assume that the deserted island has no take-out service, and that potable water is difficult to come by. Really, why even do the deserted island thing. Just ask which is your favorite game. *this message was found in a bottle* -------------------- quote: Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

Four weeks of vacation on a lone island, with a computer? OMG. There is nothing in that scenario that could possibly dampen my mood, not even A4. Heck, Galactic Core! Although, that said, I'd want to take BoA, and use the time to work towards finishing my scenario idea that's been sitting on back-burner for the past four and a half years (It was to be a BoE work originally). Without distractions, I'm bound to be more productive. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. Avernum 2. It's been a while. Playing through it a few more times would refresh my memory. Who knows, I might even try new strategies. Besides, when I got bored, I could use the other programs on said computer. There was no restriction on Powerpoint or Word, after all. Dikiyoba. Edit: Fixed spelling. A4, most likely. Although I'm not sure there would be a powerpoint on the island. In a tree, maybe? -------------------- I'll put a Spring in your step. Posts: 2396 | Registered: Saturday, January 29 2005 08:00 |

For all questions, the computer really is made specifically to play any one Spiderweb game. No other programs, such as Word, or Excel, or even a command prompt. The game you chose would come pre-loaded onto said computer, and the moniter would be built into it. It (the CPU/Moniter) would be impossible to open, so no salvaging it.There would be a touch pad, so you could control the game. You would use an on-screen keyboard. Yeah, that would make the games a lot harder. -------------------- "I come for the chugga... but I stay for the wiggy wugga."-Cheerleader Posts: 35 | Registered: Saturday, February 11 2006 08:00 |

BOE Not having the other programs makes it impossible to write for BOA and there aren't enough BOA scenarios yet to be worth it. Besides, I've always meant to get BOE. I just keep forgetting when I can actually afford it. -------------------- Do not underestimate the power of the mechanical pencil. Join the Dark side. We have cookies. Hey! I forgot to say my choice... I think. It would eiter be Nethergate or BOA. I've had Nethergate for about 7 years, and I still haven't completed it. Because most people, if suddenly poofed onto an island naked, would immediately start wondering how they ended up the the island and try to figure out how to replace their clothes rather than worry about what one game they have on their computer.
