Very nice! One small gripe - that red seems to stand out quite a bit from her surroundings, making me believe that she's super-imposed (which I've no doubt she is :-P) rather then part of the picture. Posts: 2862 | Registered: Tuesday, October 2 2001 07:00 |

Ah, guns. There's nothing that says freedom like the freedom to blow somebody's brains out. Gun crime is, unfortunately, on the rise in Britain. Only a couple of months ago, two teenage girls were shot dead in gang-related shooting. That kind of thing might be commonplace in America - I don't know, I've never been. I support the banning of guns. However, you have to temper that with strict controls, and that really doesn't happen. I don't know how to do that, but I'm sure that the first step for America is getting rid of guns - most guns end up on the street because they are stolen from someone's home. -------------------- KazeArctica: "Imagine...wangs everywhere...and tentacles. Hmm....This seems to be the way everyone reaches 1000... Because so many people post "I'm A Veteran Nyah, Nyah, Nyah!" topics, everybody feels obliged to congratulate them, thus boosting their post counts further, and eventually bumping themselves up to 1000. Then they post "I'm A Veteran Nyah, Nyah, Nyah!" topics and the viscous circle begins once again. -------------------- KazeArctica: "Imagine...wangs everywhere...and tentacles. David, if the best reason you can come up with for the USA not equalling the USSR is that the USA is not communist, then it worries me about what you really think about your country. Though the USA possesses many traits of the USSR, I wouldn't make that comparision. The USA today (and the rest of the first world) is more Orwellian then anything. -------------------- KazeArctica: "Imagine...wangs everywhere...and tentacles. Nothing but wangs and tentacles! Well, from what I know of Jehovah's Witnesses: You believe that there is a cap on the number of people who can enter heaven. You refuse blood transfusions (the logic behind this, sadly escapes me). Jehovah's Witnesses, with the possible exception of Mormons, are the most intrusive in their converting methods. You believe that the Bible is to be taken literally. How am I doing so far? Personally, I have very little respect for Jehovah's Witnesses, ever since the story I read about a child of a Witness being forced to refuse blood, and thus dying. -------------------- KazeArctica: "Imagine...wangs everywhere...and tentacles. By "us" what do you mean, exactly? Catholics? Americans? Fundies? I have nothing against Catholics, just the Catholic Church (their banning of contraception, in my view, is responsible for countless deaths to AIDs in Africa). I have nothing against Americans, just the American government (something which I think most of the world's population dislikes). Fundies...well, yes, you've got me there. I am generally prejudiced against fundamentalists, because of their literal taking of the Bible, hatred of homosexuals, abortionists and atheists (or, as fundies like to call us, Satan-worshpiers). I don't know if you are any of those, but since you associate yourself with David, I presume you're one of them, Riibu . -------------------- KazeArctica: "Imagine...wangs everywhere...and tentacles. The British National Party (fascists, for those who don't know), have gained 16 local council seats in Britain in the past two years, most of them very close to where I live. Of 20 000 seats, it may not seem like much, but it makes them the second largest party in the local city of Burnley. Living in an area with a lot of Asians, I see racism day to day. It is mostly fueled by ignorance and hatred, but also by a degree of fear; the Asians have a tendancy to go around in, for lack of a better word, packs for protection. This causes white people to club together out of fear, and the cycle goes on. -------------------- KazeArctica: "Imagine...wangs everywhere...and tentacles. Nothing but wangs and tentacles! I really don't see why everyone is bashing Khoth and X for highlighting some flaws in Mother Theresa's personality. You shouldn't witch-hunt people for their beliefs, you should try and bring evidence to the table that contradicts them. And the fact that you aren't, David and Ribbu (and others), leads me to believe that you can't. On another note, I agree that we need to change the subject. Too many people go up in flames over this one. -------------------- KazeArctica: "Imagine...wangs everywhere...and tentacles. Nothing but wangs and tentacles! And no pants!" Where did America get such racist pigs? We have similar sections of society, most of them part of the British National Party, though it seems souther America is far, far worse then anything we have over here. It's nice that portions of America are still bringing racism and intolerance to new levels. -------------------- KazeArctica: "Imagine...wangs everywhere...and tentacles. Why do you consider Mother Theresa "untouchable"? I don't know much about Mother Theresa, and consider her to be a good person, but if someone offers me evidence to the contrary, I will agree with them. I will not, however, accuse them of lying, being stupid or idiotic, satan-worshippers or madmen. X has always seemed like a reasonable person, and probably has some very good reasons (and evidence) for his beliefs. -------------------- KazeArctica: "Imagine...wangs everywhere...and tentacles. I see selfishness as a gateway to morality, at least for some people. If people enjoy positive attention (which we all do, to a certain extent), then doing good things for the world is a way forward. Some people are moral through fear of God, some moral through love of the world. Some are moral through routine. I am moral through selfishness. -------------------- KazeArctica: "Imagine...wangs everywhere...and tentacles. Nothing but wangs and tentacles! And no pants!" I have no problem with Neon-Sign Christians as long as they can tell me honestly that they, to the best of their ability, adhere to the basic principles of Christianity (Love thy Neighbour and Turn the Other Cheek). More often then not, I meet hypocritical Christians, who deserve all the piss-taking that comes to them. I dislike Christians who use Christianity as a sort of moral relief, a kind of "as long as I pray to God every Sunday, it doesn't really matter what I do in real life". In that case, religion breeds more bad then good. From your views, David, I feel that you fall under the second category of Christians. -------------------- KazeArctica: "Imagine...wangs everywhere...and tentacles. Nothing but wangs and tentacles! I have to say, I detest Easter. Everyone else munches on easter eggs, and I'm forced to be content with plain eggs. I know, I know, I should be praising the lord and whipping myself, but, I'm not a Christian so Easter means nothing to me. Oh, and the only food that is great about Easter, Hot Cross Buns, has also been spoilt. Why do they have to put the cross on it? I don't want to feel like I'm munching on Jesus. -------------------- KazeArctica: "Imagine...wangs everywhere...and tentacles. Nothing but wangs and tentacles! And no pants!" Will scripts be inside the scenario file, or external files? If the former is true, it could be difficult to host a script database. I'm quite excited by the idea of scripts. There are several ideas bubbling away in my head at the moment, most of which would not be possible in BoE. Posts: 2862 | Registered: Tuesday, October 2 2001 07:00 |
