OOC: Does anyone mind if I join this RP? Intense combat everywhere around him, Firedrake ducks into a side room. Several Vahnatai enter the door and start throwing several razordisks at Firedrake. Blocking them with his shield, he rushes foward and takes two of them down with a single slice of the sword, then knocks the third backwards with a body-slam. Then several more Vahnatai, start charging towards him. Deciding that he doesn't want to fight too many at once, he retreats deeper into the fort. FD: So, I'm in some Vahnatai fort somewhere in Exile. This is just great :rolleyes: . Firedrake: Is it ready yet? Gerris: Almost. Our pursuers are gonna get a nasty shock out of this. Firedrake: Just hurry up with those explosives, and be careful. Try not to waste to much powder, it's rare and difficult to make. Gerris: Don't worry about it, I have this whole area rigged. This should stall them long enough for us to retreat further.... alright, I'm done. Firedrake: Let's catch back up with the rest of the troops and get moving. Firedrake: Enough! Retreat! Firedrake and his army retreat, the mission had gone successful! The messangers managed to sneak through. Firedrake: Send a message to Mars to cover our retreat back to Coronis if it's clear. Firedrake: My plan isn't too complex, but it requires some coordination. I myself will lead a regiment of troops against Lewis's forces advancing towards here. A second force, will advance to the remains of Coronis. After my group deals with the enemy, we will move to appear to be attacking Aizo, but instead, a few members of the Wyrm riders will slip through to the east, meet with the towns east of Aizo, and then sneak back here, while we bide time. The second group will provide support for my force. After we get word from the east, we'll plan our next move. ef, Archmage Alex, and Firedrake head into the meeting and take some seats. Ryan (Ex-mayor of Coronis): What's our next move? With Coronis gone, it's a short walk for Lewis's army to here. Braxis (Mayor of Kerli): We have an army. We have 1500 troops here, 400 surviving troops from Coronis, 250 Wyrm Riders from the North, 600 from Dela and 300 from Zerwel. Herrald: Don't forget the elites from Waylan. Braxis: So we have around 3000 troops so far. Michael (Commander of the Braxis army): Plus, we might be able to recruit some soldiers to our cause. But unfortionately we're cut of from the east. Firedrake keeps on fighting, holding of the enemy the best he can, when all of the sudden, the others from the Inn appear. After an intense combat, the attackers turn and flee! FD: Everyone! Nows our chance to escape! Everyone retreat! FD Walks up to Wiseman and says FD: We'll talk later at the meeting in Kerli. Let's get outta here. Meanwhile, in Coronis city hall... Firedrake: I've pulled some strings and managed to get some allies to help us out. I've gotten the remaining Wyrm riders of the North to help us, (their town was destroyed by Lewis), and also soldiers from the nearby towns of Kerli and Trenor. Also several hundred elites from Waylan are moving to cover our retreat. Ryan (Mayor of Coronis): Once they punch a gap in the rear of the General's blockade, we can evacuate. Herrald (Captain of the Guard): We have several hundred men here, holding the city. Our walls are beginning to weaken, so me and Commander Wells will go to the main gate and fight them off. (Wells and Herrald leave.) Firedrake: I'll go to the gate and help. Try to hurry up with the evacuation. Good Luck. After a full day and a half of travel, Firedrake arrives at the besieged city of Coronis. Sneaking through the blockade, and climbing over the city walls, FD manages to get in. He quickly moves to get into the City Hall. Earlier, he talked to his associates. He arranged for several hundred soldiers to move to assist in the evacuation. Hopefully, the leaders would let him in to talk. "Hope the others got out of the city ok," FD thinks. And with that he enters the City Hall. A meeting is going on when FD enters. Several guards move to attack, unsure of who FD is. FD: I am no enemy, but a friend. Late in the night, Firedrake gets ready to leave on his mission. Finally figuring out what is REALLY happening, he decides that right now is the time to act. He gathers a few important things, and heads off. FD: It's time... With that he heads towards the central palace. On his way, he attempts to talk to ef through her powers. FD: "ef, this is what I know so far. Tonite the Archmage Ren'tharl meets with General Lewis. Also also found out that we've been set up by someone! The rival gang that we took out that we thought was behind the attacks on us was actually resisting the Generals plot to gain power in this region. He sent those goons to attack us in order for us to do his dirty work. The soldiers there that ambushed me as I left were General Lewis's men. The last few days we've been here, I've been collecting information. General Lewis is starting to gain power in the Exile Provinces here on the surface. He already controls the only way into Exile. He's cutting us off from help. I've also heard rumors that the city of Coronis, west of here, is under seige by the general. There have also been reports of several other attacks on nearby towns. If he gains power, he will be a risk to the Empire and Exile. The General knows we are here. He's been watching us from the beginning. I think that someone is acting as a spy in our very own ranks! I don't know who, but I'm sure that someone is spying for him. We can't run back to New Silvar. The Sea is blockaded by his ships. He'll catch us. I think the best choice of action is to sail west of here to Coronis and help evacuate. We'll then retreat to Coronis's ally Kerli and plan our next move here. I plan now to enter the palace and try to kill General Lewis and the Archmage Ren'tharl. I doubt I will succeed, but I must try. Get everyone else and run. I'll get out another way. A war is gonna break out soon, and we're stuck in the middle. I'm going to head in now. See you at Coronis hopefully." And with that FD broke into the palace through a side window. Heading down a large hall, he ducks into a small side room to avoid some guard. "I better use the air ducts to avoid the guards." Heading back out into a hall, he sees a duct in the ceiling. Using his climing skills, he gets in and crawls. For many minutes. Finally he hears the voices of the General speaking with several others. "How is the seige going on Coronis?" "Very well sir, the city will fall within a few days." "Good. What about our visitors here?" "They are unaware that we know they are here," said with a slith accent. "Great. Everything is going according to plan." Firedrake reaches the air duct near the meeting room. General Lewis: "Have you burned the town of Saelin for resisting us yet?" "WHAT! My... hometown?," thought FD. Commander Halk: "Yes, it is done." Shocked that his hometown was burned, FD stays where his is for a few seconds. The shock quickly turns into anger. Busting through the grate with his Mithral Daggers drawn, he stands up. General Lewis: "Who the hell are you? GUARDS!" FD: "You burned my hometown, NOW YOU'LL DIE!" And with that FD lunges at Commander Halk, dispatching him with a swift stroke of his blades. The Archmage begins to cast spells and the General draws his sword. Several guards burst into the room. FD fought with the guards and managed to beat them, but then was blasted through a set of doors by a Firestorm spell. Several Dervishes entered the room and other guards began to surround him. FD: "I'll kill you with my own hands someday." And with that FD runs away, down halls. Escaping through the main entrance, he dispatches some guards with a wave of Shurikens. A Dervish steps up and swings, resulting in a Assasin's Dagger through him. Running out into the streets, turned down several side streets, until he ran into a horse, and began to flee the city. OOC: I'm assuming this is nighttime, I'm making my way back to the Inn we're at. Firedrake, having been wandering around, walked down a few alleys, looking for the inn. "This doesn't look good," he thought to himself. Suddenly, several shadows began to appear. Running out of the alley, not wanted to fight in that small face, he entered a street and turned around. 5-8 assasins jumped out at him. Fending them of, he swatted at a few with his Assasin Daggers. Managing to kill a few, the others ran. Firedrake, still dazed, decide to keep looking for the inn. Firedrake pulls out his twin Assasin Daggers and takes out the nearest mercenary. At that time he began to fight off two more mercenaries at once. Quickly obliterating one's weapon and the other's shield, they turn to run. And then the two turn to leave. But then... the creature begins to stir. It lets out a mighty roar and lifts itself backup. Using some unknown dark power, the beast gets stronger. It's swords become sharper, dangerous scyth type claws. Sending a wave of pure evil, the creature sends both Mars and FD flying. FD : Wha... What.... What is this thing? We killed it already! Tapping into his elite assasin powers, Firedrake gets a power boost himself. Flying foward, the creature swings, and at the same time Firedrake swings. With precise blows, FD shatters the claws of the demon, and jumps up onto it's back. Stabbing it in the back he casts Holy Crush. Sending Holy power through the creature, the creature roars and the creature begins to go insane. Jumping off and running, the creature begins to explode... and with it, it takes a chunk of the ground below it. Whats left of it falls back into the hole. FD: Well that's that. Firedrake and Mars walked for a while to the Old Section of town, where several people poked their heads out their windows to look at them, knowing why the two were here. FD : Let's look over there by that old building. Mars : It's gonna come from the ground. FD : How do you know? Mars : Don't you ever watch movies? The evil always comes from the ground. FD : I don't know... At that second, the ground up ahead began to split in two. Dirt was thrown everywhere. A large Bug-like creature's head appeared. Mars : That doesn't look too big... And then the huge body appeared. The Demon looked like a huge praying mantis, with a large pair of sharp, scyth type sword. It has 6 or seven hind legs, with a large tail on the end. The Mantis was a black and red color. Mars : Mabey... I... was wrong? FD : You could say that. Let's get him. OOC: Is the storyline ever going to move on? I guess I'll just go help the townsfolk by killing off monsters until we start. Firedrake having finished his meal, leaves the tavern, and looks for Mars, finding him in another tavern, he says... FD: Mars, lets go. Mars: Why? Where are we going. FD: To kill monsters and get gold. Mars: Ok, let's go! Both of them read some posters posted at the tavern. FD notices one that looks interesting. "REWARD: Monster - Dead or Non-living Large demonic bug type monster roaming the streets in the older section of the city. Lives in an abandoned building. 5000+ gold to those who kill it! Plus Magical stuff and large, sharp, pointy objects. Bring a claw of the beast to Hugh of the Old Section Militia." FD: Hmmm... this sounds like our kind of job eh? Mars: Sharp pointy objects! Let's go! Right now! And so the two decide to go to the Ye Olde Section of town for a while.
