OOC: It might have been ice skating, I don't remember. I do remember that it had been classified as a summon beast or summon demon or some such thing. The category of summon didn't really matter, it was crossed out in dipping red and replaced (also in dripping red) with something like: "The ultimate evil". OOC: Thanks for being patient. My little sister and I both have spring break right now, so we've been taking the opportunity to catch up and have some family time. She's pretty wierd sometimes, so she'd fit right in here. :D IC: After the dervishes finish off the group of gang members that had tried to escape through the sewers, they and Lethalis meet up with the rest of the task force. Raising his voice so that everyone can hear him, Lethalis says, "Get into your groups and get moving!" Taking off with Wiseman, Namothil, and the dervishes, Lethalis heads toward his group's next target. OOC: I gave LF the most NPC warriors this time because he never did get a chance to command his forces into battle. Anyone who wasn't named as part of Lethalis' group is part of LF's group. Feel free to let some of your underlings die, as they are NPCs, but try not to kill them all off. Killing too many soldiers means we won't get as much help from them later, seeing as how we did hire them. OOC: Actually, you could play the Big Furry Monster, but it cost 16 black mana, and you had to play both cards at the same time. It wasn't allowed in tournaments. I'd have to say that two of my favorite unglued cards were "Look at Me! I'm the DCI!," (which allowed you to ban certain cards from the game and everyone had to remove all copies of that card from their decks, hands, graveyards, and from play) and "The Infernal Spawn of Evil" (which was pictured as a cheerful little chipmunk wearing a scarf and drinking hot chocolate). IC: Lethalis wanders to the back of the bus, and sends the vendors out to pick up more supplies. Nicol Bolas, still flying above the ground, disturbs the grave of Lethalis with a spell, Lethalis ges up, looks around, and shakes the dirt off of himself. Then he wanders over to the bus and gets on. He starts a game of 20 Questions with interested people. Meanwhile, Nicol Bolas decides to whip out the heavy artillary. First, the Big Furry Monster appears. It stands about a mile in height (no really, that about how the describe it: "...look, it was wearing leviathans and dreadnaughts as jewelry! It was BIG!") It picks up the Giant whatever it was that GS says he is now, and holds him securely. Casting a plethora of wards, NB makes the BFM immune to all hostile magic. Finding one of the real mutant GS things, NB casts Exterminate, and all of the mutants are sucked into the Planar Void. Then the island of Atlantis is covered with a heavy rain... of stones. Using a few lobotomy spells, NB wipes all of the illusion and summoning magic from GS's mind, and deposits the knowledge into the Planar Void. Chanting Hymns to Turok, NB wipes the rest of GS's mind blank. Finally, he casts Dark Banishing, and consigns the child to the Planar Void as well. Then he left and went to work, because he is running late. OOC: Go for Magic: the Gathering spells. Much more powerful, and they never miss, no matter where the enemy is, even if it is hiding in the center of the planet. IC: Nicol Bolas, the planeswalker, enters the plane. Seeing Mutant GS, He creates the armoring ward of the combat magi. Pulling power from the memories of lands that he has seen, and from the artifacts that he is wearing, he casts every direct damage spell he knows (and there are about fifteen that I can remember right off the top of my head). Lava spurts from a volcano, and shoots into a high arc. The magma crashes down upon Mutant GS at the same time as three different balls of fire strike him and his flesh is blasted from his bones by a disintegration spell. As the other spells were approaching though, Mutant GS burst into flames several times, was struck by five lightning bolts, ripped open by a scythe of fire, and struck by a soundwave that ruptured all of his internal organs. Finally, to top it all off, the city of Atlantis is swallowed by the ocean floor that it had rested upon. Then, just to be really mean, Nicol Bolas summons several creatures. The creatures are sent down to Atlantis, and devour it; after destroying every stone and building that had made up Atlantis, the creatures dissipate into the æther and return to the site of Mutant GS's destruction. Dust and blood are all that are left of Mutant GS. The creatures each take a seperate piece of the remains and they scatter them across the world, all save the his heart, which Nicol Bolas had protected magically. Grinning with a really, really evil thought, Nicol Bolas planeswalks away from the plane, but drops Mutant GS's heart into the Planar Void, from which only a planeswalker can escape. They didn't give me enough time! They were only supposed to get into position! Gathering up the dervishes, Lethalis shouts at Mars to get a move on, and then he rushes to the outlet for the sewers. Luckily, the dervishes had rigorous enough training to keep up with the huge mutant. In a matter of minutes, they had encountered a toffsman, and a sentinel, both of whom had been left broken and bleeding, and in pieces. As the screaming populace of the city ran for cover above them, Lethalis cursed the overly enthusiastic nephil (OOC: What the hell is its name anyway?). Five minutes later, he and the dervishes had reached the compound's entrance to the sewers. Leaping up, Lethalis grabs the retracting ladder and drags it down, where he secures it. The dervishes swarm up the ladder as Lethalis is securing it. Following as soon as he can, Lethalis practically flies up the ladder and bursts into the room. The dervishes have been set upon by a pair of doomguards. Grabbing one of the armor creatures, Lethalis shatters it with a single powerful attack. As the pieces begin to regain shape and multiply, Lethalis grabs the three demons and pulls them into a deadly embrace. Ignoring the feeble attempts to stab him, Lethalis rears up to his full height and begins to crush the metal creatures within his arms. WIth an explosive crack, the creatures' armor fuses and breaks. The metal stirs once, and then ceases to exist as a demon, reverting to nothing more than a lump of metal. The dervishes and Lethalis all take a rest and see to each other's wounds. After taking his cheese-head hat from NaCN, Lethalis goes to a Packers game. He doesn't have a ticket, so he hops the rail and watches from behind the team. OOC: Damnit, am I the only one with any care about how an operation like this is carried out? I would have thought there would have been at least one post from Lone Flame concerning the plan. IC: Lethalis, seeing that no one was going to volunteer help, makes the decision on his own. "We will split up, hitting first the primary target and then we will regroup and split up again to take out the secondary targets. "Wiseman, Namothil, and Firedrake will head out and do what they need to to help weaken the targets. Mars and the nephil here will lead the swordswomen and the mercs in a direct assault. That group will be the hardest for sentries to watch, but I expect those sentries to be dead before they have a chance to see them. Wiseman and Namothil will have to take care of them. Firedrake will take the enforcers and block the exits on the ground floor. That will leave me with the dervishes. The dervishes and I are the easiest to spot, so we will take the sewer route and block off any escape down there. After the fighting starts, half of the dervishes and I will enter the building from below. After that, all we need to do is work on containment." Gesturing to the crude sketch that he had made in the dirt, Lethalis points to the eastern target. "Once the pimary target is neutralized, I will lead the dervishes, Namothil, and Wiseman to this secondary target. Everyone else will go to the western target and eliminate it. Afterwards, if we don't have to abort the mission, we rendezvous back here." Standing up, Lethalis stretches and then sends word to the troops stationed a half mile away to move into the base camp. Seeing Wiseman, Namothil, and Firedrake still there, he growls, "Well, what are you waiting for? Get moving!" "Now that we have everyone here, we can go over some plans." Lethalis gets out a stick and begins to draw rough maps of the city. At the rendezvous, Lethalis squats in the camoflaged tent with the other members of th Nightmare Squad. "Here's where the other ring appears to be centered. Unfortunately, that may have been part of a very elaborate ruse, so we will also have to make contingencies to ensure success. These two buildings here are secondary targets." Lethalis circles two more buildings that are at least a mile away from the primary target. Pointing to a spot outside the north gate, Lethalis makes some marks representing prominent landmarks. "Here is where we rendezvous if we have to scuttle the operation." "We can be dropped via Rathlan's helicopter, go through the sewers, attempt a direct approach, or try taking the thieves' highway." Mars frowns, "Thieves' highway?" Namothil grins at him and says, "The roofs. They are also some of the favorite places for assassins to lurk." "Right, but there are problems inherent in each of these plans. If we ride the chopper in, we lose the element of surprise; the sewers may be watched, it depends on whether the gang also dabbles in thievery; we run the same risk by approaching directly, especially since I'm just a bit conspicuous; the rooftops can be treacherous, and we already know that they are being watched by guardians. "The chopper gives us direct access to our targets, and if all else fails, we can just bomb the buildings. The sewers let us come up from below and virtually ensure a clean sweep of our enemies. The direct approach doesn't have much going for it, except that we may be able to slip past anybody watching for us. The roofs let us come down on them from above, giving us the high ground and we have a much lower chance of being spotted by normal sentries. We can also split up and do the streets and sewers together. That let's us keep some people down in the sewers so that we can prevent anyone from escaping that way, and lets us move a large number of people through the streets." "So.... what are you saying, that we are going to help plan this thing?" Mars looks a little surprised, considering how Lethalis has been running things so far. "I'm asking for everyone's advice on the matter. I never claimed to be a military leader, I'm just the first one to take control after the inn was attacked. Besideswhich, I brought some troops with us, and I need leaders for each of the groups going in." Wiseman's head snaps up and he says, "Wait a minute, what troops?" "I brought about fifty swordsmen total. Fifteen of our enforcers, fifteen of the fort's amazons, ten dervishes that I'm getting on loan from Ilofekh, and ten highly capable mercs" "I don't know how to lead troops!" "Not everyone will have to lead a squad Wiseman, only a few of us will be leading troops. I'm counting on you and Namothil entering the city and finding your own positions tonight. Day after tomorrow, at dusk, we strike." OOC: Yes, I'm giving up leadership for this so that I don't have to make up the whole plan. This way just about everyone gets a chance to participate, and no one will have to lead troops if they don't want to. Lethalis, after sulking a lot about being forbidden from going anywhere fun, wanders off and finds a video store. The clerk at the register, apparently used to really wierd people coming in, doesn't bat an eye when Lethalis shows up in line with a few Monty Python DVD's and several of Mel Brooks' and Leslie Nielson's movies, also on DVD. Then Lethalis goes to the closest electronics store he can find and steals a TV and DVD player. Snapping to attention and saluting, Lethalis barks, "Sir! Yes sir!" Then gives ef a wicked grin and heads out to round up the Nightmare Squad. Shouting orders and delivering friendly insults to the other members of the Squad, Lethalis gives them their marching orders. Returning to ef, Lethalis asks, "Any word from Namothil yet? I sent him out a few days ago to see what kind of information he could provide us concerning the people who hired the toughs that broke in last week. When he comes back, could you have him hurry to meet us outside of Delnar? We will be meeting three miles south of the west gate. We will attack two days from now." OOC: I can sympathize with being poor GS, and understand the problems caused by physical disabilities and injuries, but you came to the wrong place if you thought that people like LF and others would be your friends just because you posted in an RP. Most of us are at least five years older than you, and I'm twice as old as you; to me, you come across as a big mouthed kid who wants to have lots of power and show off. I don't know what everyone else thinks but that is MOH. I had your creations do disgusting things to the sheep because it was funny at the time, and made people laugh. If someone had made my character do that, I still would have laughed. Try not to take yourself too seriously here. It keeps from causing the vicious tauntings that LF just piled on you. IC: Lethalis, after having secured the two in seperate compartments in the back of the bus, wanders off and looks for some fun in the bar. He gets into three fights before he even reaches the bar. Usually, his opponent was so drunk that they didn't realize that Lethalis wasn't human. When he gets to the bar though, and stands up to his full hieght so as to better attract the attention of the bar keeper, people suddenly stop talking and look at him, realizing that this guys isn't normal. Suddenly there is a stampede for the door, and only the ones too drunk to care, or too drunk to move remain. Wiseman smacks Lethalis upside his head. "Look at that, you scared them all off again. Next time, you have to stay on the bus!" Lethalis goes off and sulks then, and manages to get a few of the braver patrons back in, as they see the ridiculous sight of a sulking demon-like monster. -------------------- "The hippogryph is an amazing creature rarely seen outside of the wild. It also becomes a sort of graphicly violent spam if it happens too often. After questioning the survivor, Lethalis has him released, and then has Aria follow him from above while invisible. Within a couple of hours, she has identified the men who were sent to take care of the would-be assassin. After the poor man is finally killed, Aria follows the other three to another location, and begins to make a list of the people she recognizes, and gives descriptions of the men that had killed the thug. A few of the people who enter and leave the building are employed by the Family, and she notes them as well. Meanwhile, FD221 has managed to deliver his news to EF and Lethalis. The names of the men and women who have some more dirt on Ilofehk (sorry if I messed that up, I can't remember the liason's name), including some rather inappropriate relationships (according to the empire) with non-humans. Several of the soldiers from the fort are beginning to undergo treatment for skribbane addiction, and it is coming along well. ADoS has managed to come up with a remarkably affective treatment, breaking the addiction 75% of the time. Alex has opened a shop to sell his milk shakes, and is doing very good business since he keeps his prices just a little bit over cost, and can keep the shakes cold with magic. Lady Athron and Motrax wander off together and have a long discussion about the museum's future, or lack thereof. The few people who visited it apparently did not care for the subject matter, and have told others not to go see it. The dragons are faced with the dilemma of trying to cater to the public and keep from going over budget. Rathlan, who has gotten in contact with the gnomes, brings back good news. OOC: I had been under the impression that there were only five or six henchmen with the leader. IC: Finally all of the thugs and would-be toughs are down; killed or crippled, depending on who hit them. Lethalis walks around and searches the corpses. Only gold and pictures of several members of the ring are found. One of the pictures includes ef, who has never been associated with the ring in a way that could be traced back to her. Leaping down from the second floor, Lethalis crushes one of the ruffians that had just forced their way into the inn. Standing up to his over eight foot height, Lethalis snaps off a side kick and shatters the hip of one of the other toughs. Wrapping his tail around the feet of a third man, Lethalis pulls him off his feet. Before the startled human can move, Lethalis' foot comes down on his head, crushing it like a melon. Roaring in rage like a vengeful demon, Lethalis lunges at the leader, only to be diverted into the wall with an effortless avoidance. OOC: Well as long as he has no more than 2 creations at any time, and they have to be able to fit in the bus so that means no making them pumped up. So long as he keeps to the line about him being a young shaper who has two guard lizards (because his parents are rich) that he can't modify, upgrade, or even replace them if they are killed, he's fine with me. Since Stripe's parents could afford them, the fyora and cryoa are specially made only to guard him from dangerous people and animals, and will ignore any order to assist causing harm to a human or creation that is not a threat. How's that sound? This way he still has to be a kid, he can't precipitate violence if nothing threatens him, and he still gets to play at being a shaper.
