A rosy ultimate goal might get Karl Marx credit for being a nice guy at heart, but Marxism has to stand or fall on its theories about how to get there.
(I assume you meant "to communism".)

No. It doesn't stand or fall based on that alone. For one thing, there are many Marxisms. And then Marx's theories can't be reduced to just achieving communism. He is a critic of capitalism. His theories have had a considerable effect on social sciences, like Sociology for instance.

Marx actually _didn't_ say much about how to achieve communism. The vanguard theory was pretty much Lenin's idea. Many theorists since Marx's time have disagreed with Lenin in that and have been marxists at the same time.

I run it in the Classic mode. That's when the problems happen.

If there's no solution to at least the sound problem, the game doesn't work properly enough.

That means I won't play it on my new computer, which means I might not finish my two scenarios. (Depends on how long I'm able to use my old computer.)

Blades of Exile (the latest version) doesn't seem to run well on my PowerPC G4 with OS X 10.4.3. For example, most of the time it plays the sounds one click too late.

I'd be very thankful and glad for a carbonized version of Blades of Exile, because scenarios are still made for it and I want to play them.

One could also invent new symbols. Or, the symbols could be connected to an important character's past, or in this case, "your" past. (Although this is a fairly common solution.)

At least one BoE scenario, Quests of the Spheres, has a quest a bit like this: The party visits a mad scientist's mind and tries to cure him. (Or something like that.) It's a maze where you have to fight "Squiggles" and other things. It might be inspirational, if you play BoE...

The hardest part for me has generally been when about 2/3 or 3/4 of the first version is done. At that stage my scenarios often seem to suck too much, because they are too bare and empty yet.

You don't, if you download the scenario from Spiderweb's scenario list.

At least, that is, if you have means to open .bin files.

There's also the Blades Scenario Editor Docs file which should offer an explanation to some things, like this one.

It should come with the editor.

Nethergate - 9.3 :)
Blades of Exile - 9.25
Blades of Avernum - 9.25? (not sure)
Exile 2 - 9.25
Exile 3 - 9.25
Geneforge 2 - 9.25?
Geneforge 1 - 9.25?
Avernum 1 - 9
Exile 1 - 8.75
Avernum 2
Avernum 3
Avernum 4

Geneforge 3 I didn't finish yet, it required too much side-choosing and strategic planning. Perhaps some day...

The order changes from time to time.

A few bugs but not much else to complain about. An excellent scenario designing program, and there are many good scenarios.

(It seems that this ruins the perfect rating. Sorry.)

A couple of times the forum comments have encouraged me to buy a game but it's also quite possible that I would have bought those in any case.

Trying the games myself has usually more effect on my decisions than the forum discussion.

I like this game and have replayed it countless times. I like the chests with random content, which there aren't in Exile 3. This one has more details than the first one, like treasure on the floors and more side quests with rewards (I think). I sometimes lose interest in a certain point in the game when there are so many side quests that I forget what I was doing. Still, it's a very good game.

I generally prefer Exile games over their Avernum counterparts. I like the graphics and the variety in the Exile series but the story and quests are usually the best parts.

This game had excellent new ideas. I have replayed it many times, and still play it sometimes. I like the chests with random content. But the game feels a bit empty compared to later Exiles.

I generally prefer Exile games over their Avernum counterparts, though Avernum 1 was an improvement over this one. It had more detail and some things had been developed. I like the graphics and the variety in the Exile series. The story and quests are usually the best parts.

This nostalgic game was maybe the third Spiderweb game I played and the first that I finished. I have replayed it countless times.

In my opinion, not quite as good as its Exile counterpart but close.

I don't like Avernum graphics (as much as Exile graphics). The loot that the monsters drop is too monotonous and number of spells too small. The story and the quests are best parts.

Not as good as its Exile counterpart. All too easy. I had bought all the skills and equipment I could and had too much money when I had played the first half of the story. And I found almost nothing new on the map. But still, the atmosphere is good and the first half was enjoyable.

The only Avernum that seemed to me an improvement over its Exile counterpart.

I don't like Avernum graphics (as much as Exile graphics). The loot that the monsters drop is too monotonous and number of spells too small. The plot and the quests are best parts. I think some new skills were also interesting.

I'm mentioning the Leaving here because its combat parts are easy.

But it divides opinions. Don't pick it if you don't like looking for secret doors.

Runs smoothly, it's not very slow (on my computer at least), I like the new "zones" somewhat and the combat and movement system are interesting, and refreshing changes.

I don't like some of the graphics (they're not ugly but from Geneforge), though many of the new graphics are nice. The plot was more disappointing, it felt partly recycled and some of it wasn't as convincing as it could have been. But it holds together.

I also miss the puzzles and hidden things. And the towns (or zones) could have had more than 2 floors sometimes.

I would rate all other Spiderweb games a little higher but wouldn't say this one was catastrophic.

You could do a mini-series, but every scenario would have to stand alone and be able to be played in any order. So they could be related but they really couldn't be parts of the same plot. It seems like having installments of the same plot would be more limiting than freeing.

But still, the "series" approach is quite possible and there are examples of this in existence (among Blades of Exile scenarios, at least). Alcritas' Arc series has to be played in certain order, or at least part of it, and every scenario contains its own little story, which is part of a larger story. They are still popular scenarios.

The "drop-in" dungeons are also something that's been made for BoE (like the Tower of Magi), though they haven't been used in new scenarios for a long time.

I also prefer the old Metallica, by which I mean the album "Black" and things prior to that. Although I haven't heard St. Anger.

But my favourite band was for a long time Black Sabbath. (Or their first 4 or 5 albums, the first being the best.)
