OOC: holy crap, cut the super long posts already MSW. you can't expect somebody to read through a small novel encased into a forum page, can you? IC: Maestro found himself in a fight against a vampire and a death knight. While the death knight attacks quite slowly with his runeblade, the vampire was hard to dodge. Maestro was more agile than the two combined, but he did not have the brute strength. An overpowering strike from the death knight sent Maestro into the air, leaving him weaponless. The vampire, taking the rare chance, tackled him and tried to bite him - only to find an unpleasant surprise that is one of Maestro's steel bracers. With one armed entangled in the vampire and on the ground, Maestro dodged the death knight with difficulty... OOC: FB - just WAIT until the next scenario. it's too late now. Dodging the arrows of the skeletal archers, Maestro attacked the skeletal captains one by one while the Greenswell and the non-flanking guards held the line. Maestro knocked the captain to the side with a surprise flip kick, then shattered it with a series of fast sword strokes. A lot of the skeletal warriors seemed to weaken, but it was barely noticeable. The skeletal captains and champions double as beacons of unholy energy? Interesting, Maestro said to himself. With the crisis over, Wise Man cleaned his blades, sheathed them, and went on to patrol the halls while the cleaning bots mopped up the scene(s). Eventually he met old Motrax who just stormed by without noticing him and burst right into Rosycat's room. He followed the dragon but stopped in awe outside the door. With eyes wide open and digital camera on he watched the ... intriguing scene unfold... IC: The ghouls and zombies wre no trouble for Maestro - they were the dregs of the undead forces, leftovers from the first two or so waves. He knew, though, that the this 'Overlord' Caliph served will try to overwhelm the town again with one last wave, with his elites. Dracoliches, vampires, death knights ... those were his elites, Maestro believed. So many giant burritos, and yet there's no backup. Wise Man fired away at the aliens with his beam rifle, using his room as a makeshift bunker. The explosions caused the halls around him to be filled with salsa and little bits of ... anything you'd put in a burrito. One made it inside his room, and he had to shut the door and bludgeon it to death with the butt of his rifle. He tried taking a bite out of the dead thing, on a hunch. Tasty, he thought. Throwing the dead alien aside, Wise Man strapped his beam rifle onto his back, restocked on ammo with the energy packs in his room, and drew his blades. He burst out of his room, chopping the giant burritos ninja-style... Feeling some sort of beckoning, Maestro fought to the west side of the city. Sure enough, it was quite the deserted wasteland. A death knight was waiting there... one that he knew. Maestro found himself dodging and parrying the relentless, constant attacks (physical AND magical) of Karlos, with no chance of counterattack. Gotta find a flaw in his fighting, Maestro said to himself. Come on, Maestro, focus! Eventually, Maestro got lucky. Karlos made a powerful uppercut with his twin bladed sword - it was too obvious, and Maestro leaped over his head and threw his sword at the warlock, lunar titanium blade ripping through his armour. With his last breath he fired a ball of force at Maestro, blasting him into an apartment wall. He laid there for a moment, physically stunned. Then he pulled his sword out of Karlos' back and returned to the city hall. [i]I'm lucky that wasn't a direct hit,[i] Maestro said to himself as he limped back. Luckily for him, he only suffered a large bruise in the leg and a broken arm, both on the right side... OOC: well, this RP'll take a while. IC: Maestro felt something outside. Some sort of presence, as if it were beckoning for him. He was pretty sure it's some undead mage playing mind tricks. But then again, it seemed more like it wanted a duel than a relatively powerful minion or a soul. Maestro went to Archmage Alex and the potion lady, and told them not to follow him, and make sure nobody else did. Then he slipped outside, without anyone noticing... Sure enough, a warlock wielding a twin bladed sword was waiting for him near the abandoned apartment. "I would've thought a former ninja would move a bit faster," the warlock said. "I'd rather take my time, Karlos," Maestro replied. "Lemme guess. You're going to ask me to pledge myself to your service because otherwise I would be killed and eaten by the undead. And then I refuse, and you're going to try to kill me, and when you die trying, you'll say something how you really didn't matter and the hordes of the dead will overwhelm the place, with me in it." "How did you guess?" Karlos laughed. "Except the part about the failure is most definitely wrong. Defend yourself, Beam Finger!" With that, the two engaged each other in a duel...
