OOC: can i join the battle?  IC: Shadow Wolf had the skill and the experience to sneak through places, assassinate an important figure, and escape with minimal detection, if any. This time, it was different. Now that the dumb rebel soldiers had charged into frontal assault, the alarm has been sounded, and it was impossible for the blademaster to advance without resistance. Just like now. Shadow Wolf was alone, with a blockade of guards in a bottleneck. "You know, you might want to get out of the way," Shadow Wolf said to them. "I don't want to kill anyone that I don't have to kill, but stand between me and my target." Some guards laughed. The two mages at the back wavered in fear. Those two definitely felt Shadow Wolf's soul energy, and how it's encased around him in an invisible, focussed aura. "I'd say you turn back now, bony," a guard shouted. "You're alone and we got a whole platoon." "Then let's even the scales," Shadow Wolf replied. In several seconds the guards found themselves surrounded by several images of Shadow Wolf. "I dare you all to say the same thing now," they all spoke in unison. Then the images all charged at once, as the real Shadow Wolf sped off towards Balthazar. Shadow Wolf had been creeping along the side ladders and passages when he felt guards approaching from the front. Damn rebels, there is no stealth in their dictionary. Drawing his sword, Shadow Wolf stabbed the first guard multiple times, killing him quickly. Leaping back, he formed a Soul Lance with his hand, and threw it at another, putting it through his head and the one behind it. Dodging the blow from the last guard, Shadow Wolf knocked him to the ground with a sweep kick, and finished with a downard stab through the heart. OOC: SW will live. he's the oldest (chronologically) of all my characters. IC: As soon as Shadow Wolf was inside the tower, he immediately felt the presence of that mage that scanned him a while back. Perhaps he should look for her - she was probably held prisoner here. A golem thrust its hand at Shadow Wolf, but he easily dodged the blow. Not wasting time, he drew his sword, sliced into the air, and sheathed it again. A blade beam sliced through the golem's arm. The blademaster moved on, moving to kill Balthazar with the least amount of resistance possible, but also to attempt to find the mage and discover her motives... Knowing that he would soon have to do actual combat, Shadow Wolf put on his black leather gloves and blue headband. No more sitting around while these fools fight non-affiliated bystanders, he thought. Shadow Wolf looked at Eferas. The old mage must be feeling the same thing - a battle with powerful magic was taking place in a not-so-distant place. Perhaps it was the tower. One of the hydras plunged a head to bit Shadow Wolf, but ended up biting metal as the blademaster blocked with his sword at the last moment. This had the creature surprised for a moment, and Shadow Wolf took the chance to slice the head off, then thrust his blade through its heart while avoiding the frenzied ice breath. The aranea shot a fireball at Shadow Wolf from behind. He barely managed to dodge - but the fringe of the missile seared part of the right sleeve of his overcoat, leaving a small hole.
