I don't know. I do know that when I ended up in the elevator I was extremely confused and didn't really know what I was doing. It may have some meaning, but it may not too.

I don't remember any dreams from last night, but a couple days ago I did have a very enjoyable lucid dream. However, like others, it would rather violate the CoC.

I was part of a jungle war against big intelligent carnivorous bear-wolf creature things with swords. We had the wooden fort, but they had the tactics, spies and supplies. We lost.

Watching Kokoda after a heavy session of playing GuildWars does not make for a restful sleep.

I had a dream that the area under my bed was only half the cluttered mess it usually is, my little brother crawled under it and I said "Hey, get out of there! I don't know where all the snakes are!". Then he disappeared and my mom came in with the dog and started cleaning up under my bed. I was playing a computer game but I don't remember which one.

I remember very few dreams, and most of those are bits of ordinary life with odd twists. They're usually not surreal twists, just unreal ones. The usual daily things happen, but they happen in places that don't really exist, or with the wrong cast of characters.

At that point I remembered I had left my yak behind and went to check on him, but when I got there I found that it had died because I was gone so long.

Not quite sure what to make of that.

Have you made any new friends or involved yourself with a new social group lately? Maybe you're afraid that the time you're spending with your new acquaintances is causing you to neglect those who have been loyal to you in the past. In general, it sounds like you have anxieties about how you're dividing your time between conflicting responsibilities.

Not that I really believe in dream interpretation, but that one kinda jumped out at me.

That, actually, sounds pretty accurate.

Alo: I've actually seen doors that open in the latter fashion.

In a Myst game. Of course. :P

---

I just woke up ten minutes ago from a dream where I was working in some big company with all of the other Spiderwebbers. I was told off by our boss because I fell asleep on top of a really large bookshelf during the night shift. There was a lot of other weirdness as well. I had to make a company trip to a city that might have been Celephais. The details of the dream are fading fast, unfortunately, so there's not much else I remember beyond a few dim concepts that are difficult to put in words without making stuff up.

I do remember I was waiting for - I think - Riibu to submit a report on some project. But I couldn't find her office and didn't know how to contact her, so I just started riding up and down in the elevator until I met her - with the luck I have in dreams, her office was probably at ground level.

A few nights ago, I dreamed that Harry Potter book 7 was released and I was reading it. Of course, I didn't make it to the end of the book before I woke up, and I'm sure the events in the dream book aren't really going to happen in book 7.

Kinda weird, but it shows that I really am looking forward to the last book in the series. :P

I almost never remember my dreams. Even if I am woken up at an unusual time and wake up in the middle of a dream, I forget it almost immediately. There are only 5 dreams I remember: 2 from many years ago, 2 from a couple years ago and one from a few months ago.

What possible reason could anyone have for making a door that you either have to jump through or crawl through and that will hit you over the head or in the shins whenever you open it?

—Alorael, who is actually rather curious. He thought it was one of those absurd things that only makes sense in a totally surreal dream setting.

Windows in Germany are much like these doors, and so are some outside doors. Turn the handle half way, and the door swings open sideways; turn it all the way, and it tilts down from the top, instead. In vertical mode it only opens part way, to give a bit of fresh air.

On the other hand, screens are unknown.

Back on the first hand, by Canadian standards there are essentially no mosquitoes here.

Well, there it is.

Mosquitos in Florida are truly horrible. I can remember several occasions when I was in a pool and I couldn't even take my head out of the water without getting bit. Made enjoying myself, having a conversation, or breathing fairly difficult.

Actually, that Myst door not only rotated, but at the same time slid in its axis, to sink down flat onto the floor. Now I also remember where it was - in Myst 3, the door to Saavedro's study.

--

I had yet another dream last night that I've also forgotten most of, but two details remain:

I was standing in front of a mirror, but the mirror had a "lag" - that is to say, when I raised my left hand, it would take a few seconds for the mirror to copy my movement.

Then I asked my father (who was in the next room) why the mirror did that, and he launched into a dizzingly complex explanation about physics. The only part of it I remember is "time is divided into infinitely small instants that are alternatingly either 'light moments' or 'dark moments'. If the mirror drops the dark instants and reflects the light instants, that creates a field of compressed time around it, which would make it seem to you as if the mirror's reflection took some time to react."

As it turned out, however, he was wrong. In fact, the computer that runs our universe was overloaded, causing it to lag.

---

The second part I remember is that my grandmother gave me a diary (I'd told her my old one would soon be full, so I'd need a new one), but it turned out that the diary had already been written in by someone. My grandmother told me something like "there is plenty of room in the back though, it's not even half full". I looked at the entries and saw that one of them was dated in 1515. Tucked between two of the pages was a letter addressed to "Marlenny" and signed with "Kel" - also dated 1515.

I do pretty much exactly the same. I wither do that, or remember it for a little while and then forget it before I get to tell someone, which may happen in a space less than half an hour, depends on what I'm doing at the time.

This happens to me most of the time to. But, in a effort to get this back on topic (sort of) I’ll try to type my most recant dream.
The first part of my dream I remember is that I was walking down the center isle of a church. And two men were assigned to each stained glass window and instead of a pulpit there was a stair at the end of the isle. So I walked down to the stairs and started up them, then a bunch of bombers flew over and started bombing the building I was in. (This was the worst part of my dream as I played coward every time a squad of bombers flew over.) After they left I finished going up the stairs and found the captain of the place there. The place behind the church was something like a hotel, but a lot smaller. So I walked into the room to my left and just as got in another flight of bombers came over so I hid in the closet. As soon as they left I went back to the captain of the place but, found him dead so I told someone (I don’t remember who now) that I was going out to the parking lot outside the hotel-church. I got about to the edge of the park and then saw another flight of bombers coming, but this time escorted by a helicopter so me and my friend went to go too (I forgot) and met two girls and then ran back to a car… then in a frenzy the helicopter started shooting… then I saw a barrel of a machinegun turn around the car. As the helicopter came into view it started shooting as the bullets were about to kill me I woke up in an effort to save myself. Of course that ended the dream.

I must remember to not read Dikiyoba before sleeping. I had a nightmare where I was with a group of Spiderwebbers and we were trapped in a forum. I woke just as TM was about to speak. *shudder* 1 think I was spared finding out the uncensored version of what TM said in the Blades of Exiles forum.

Maybe tonight I'll have a nice relaxing dream where I read an unpublished Tolkien manuscript.

There is a difference between Dikiyoba and Dikiyoba's script, however slight that difference may be. :P

Interestingly enough, I learned a very similar thing. I learned I shouldn't stay up until 3 am writing the script and then go to sleep because I end up dreaming about it. (Plus, I end up with horrendous typos.)

Sorry. It's just your work had the same effect as reading Lovecraft's Cthulhu works on me. I hope it won't last as I read episode 2.

I tend to think of authors and the writings as a continuous body, much like Avernum 4.

I hardly ever dream anymore. At least the dreams I have now and then are usually lucid dreams where I have powerful telekinesis. What fun!

On hopefully another note, I pretty much stopped dreaming after I made a dreamcatcher at school in the 4th grade. Makes you think, doesn't it? ;)

I had a strange dream. Sexual, as usual. Didn't get too far, so the kids can stay.

My girlfriend had gotten really huge. Not fat, but blown up like a balloon. Try to imagine this. She was trying to kiss me a lot. I couldn't hold her still or something. The dream ended with no specific events. Moral: I still like the girl?

Sex dream number two: I had just moved into a new house and thought the neighbor was hot. In the dream, I was making out with and undressing her. All the new neighbors were watching. It was on a bench in a gym or something. When I unbuttoned her shirt, I saw a hairy man-chest and woke up, confused. Meaning: don't have sex with your neighbor.

I had a few recurring dreams when I was younger (single digit years):

A gray cat with black stripes attacked my house. It could change from the size of a normal cat to the size of the house. Very green eyes. As it scared me, I hid in a heating duct under the floor. With the grate on, it couldn't fit in there. Unsure of meaning.

I accidentally pulled the skin off my dad's abdomen, and you could see all his organs, which were brightly colored like in an anatomy book. We both just kind of stared into the open cavity for a while. Unsure of meaning.

The aforementioned house was under attack again, this time by a single Tyrannosaurus rex. I sat in the control chair of -- no joke -- a steam shovel whose arm could fire red-and-white checkered torpedoes from the shovel. These were used to defeat the dinosaur. Very masculine dream. Childhood testosterone rush?

Pool party. Everyone is having a great time. I get out of the pool to discover I'm naked. I'm shocked, but no one notices. I try to run but realize, there are few places that can hide nudity. Unable to get home, don't know any of the people. Message: I feel like I don't fit in, but other people don't notice.
