I'm with Alex and Ash on this one. I'm sure you're all astonished Synergy, the kind of kissing Marlenny's talking about is not the kind of which you mentioned the implications. Yes, women are certainly allowed a greater deal of freedom, and I (a straight guy) have been trying to equalize that for years. But an arm around the waist and a peck on the cheek, which would indeed be entirely permissable for a female pair and not a male pair, is on a completely different level from making out drunk. Not even a pair of girls can avoid suspicion in a case like that. Salmon's right on about guys mucking up the view, but somehow I find ADoS's example more potent than the current one... EDIT: Typo. Well, my basic point still holds, I think. Because women are permitted more leeway with physical contact and intimacy in general, when they get drunk, they are more likely to indulge in something like kissing than two drunk guys. If two guys do it, for most, it will have definite and irreversible implications. If two women do it, it might not really cause any stigma and be written off as "a moment." At least, that is the perception, even if not the reality. -------------------- [Insert Signature Here] Posts: 2009 | Registered: Monday, September 12 2005 07:00 |

I must say, Synergy brings up some valid points, IMHO. Perhaps not applicable to this exact situation (or perhaps it is), but as a broad generalization, I think that's quite true. quote:Happy non-belated birthday! +flowers & chocolates quote:I think that could be an interesting discussion... -------------------- "Take time to listen to what is said without words, to obey the law too subtle to be written, to worship the unnameable and to embrace the unformed." -- Lao Tzu Posts: 124 | Registered: Monday, September 26 2005 07:00 |

Because of Synergy's comment, I feel compelled to also give a biological viewpoint to the issue: In nature, it's not too uncommon for female apes to make out with each other to catch the attention of males and turn them on. Maybe it's the same thing here, and being drunk just encourages the behavior. [ Monday, October 03, 2005 22:49: Message edited by: Frozen Feet ] -------------------- Somebody PLEASE turn the heat on. Happy birthday, Marlenny. Personally, I do like watching females make out, but I would prefer myself to be doing it. And I have noticed that drunkeness can sometimes have nothing to do with the kiss, but they just need an excuse. Or maybe, some girls I know are keeping secrets... -------------------- I'll put a Spring in your step. Polaris Posts: 2396 | Registered: Saturday, January 29 2005 08:00 |

There are men who do not like porn, erotic stories or reviews on how good some people did this and that. I am one of them. EDIT: I got phobies, that's why. ^.^; [ Tuesday, October 04, 2005 01:20: Message edited by: Eagle, the author soul ] -------------------- So, as the great Groxy, I have come back to be served by goblins. I just do not like to listen to the X part, regardless if it is hetero or not. I have nothing against the sexual orientation itself. Completly off topic but I just noticed your sig - Currently working on a novel, "Avernum - The Pit of Hells" based on the first Exile game. When is this going to be completed and how long will it be? Posts: 776 | Registered: Friday, July 4 2003 07:00 |

I do not know when I will be done with it, how long it will be and it is too early to estimate anything. However, I may give you all a sample. :) From "Avernum - Pit of Hells": ”Ha-ha! In you go, you woman freak,” lead the words that would echo in my ears as I was thrown through the portal. A great vertigo surrounded me, green, purple, blue and red in a blurry mix. A whooshing sound passed through my ears along with the echoing words as I fell on my nose in an alien place. I steadied my feet on the hard, moist ground and looked around. This was the exile I had been thrown to. A man waved to me and greeted me with a “welcome to Avernum!” I did not believe my ears, I did not believe my eyes, I believed nothing. I was standing in a cave, lit by green self illuminating fungi, crude walls and streets forming a supposed fort, men and women working in dirty clothes and with crudely made tools, all with a remarking pale face. The man that had greeted me and explained what this place was had directed me to a chain of stone houses where one had a large wooden sign in an odd color. I went and knocked on the door. Once inside, I was greeted by a man in his 30’s, honing a dagger with a stone. “Welcome, new avernite. It is a bittersweet pleasure to meet you.” His face was pale as well; I stared. He frowned, “What’s the matter? Why are you staring me in the face?” I blurted out, “You are pale, you are all pale!” The man frowned and explained to me, “In this damned caverns it is common to be pale. I heard it was caused by ?the lack of sun’, whatever that means. Only new avernites got brown skin.” The confusion raged inside my shaken head, I had been thrown to a world where the sun does not shine, where fungi lit the place instead. “Have you never seen the sun?” The man shakes his head as a reply. “Ah, well, I can not really explain it. It does not matter, I came to fetch supplies as the man said.” The man stopped honing the dagger and went out through a door in the east wall and came back with a bag with some gold coins, food, blankets and a dagger. “Here you go, miss. Oh, and watch out for nephilims to the north. They have been raiding farms up there. If you are a good fighter, I suggest you travel west and assign for a mission. If not, I can only suggest you to go north and work in the mines.” I snickered, “It will be west then, I was thrown down here for being a better warrior than the men.” “Good luck to you then, Miss, and be safe.” I waved back with a smile as thank. It was time to explore this place. Any comment is welcome. -------------------- So, as the great Groxy, I have come back to be served by goblins. Yea, it sounds pretty good. I presume you plan to follow the story all the way through skipping virtually all of the side quests? How much do you have done so far, or is that it? Posts: 776 | Registered: Friday, July 4 2003 07:00 |

"Avernum - Pit of Hell" is based on "Exile - Escape From the Pit" but only loosly. The novel does not follow the story in Exile as you would had seen if I gave a larger sample. Sidequests will be plenty in the novel as they can give tasteful turnings and twistings to the story, which I will be glad to add. I have written 6 pages so far. I write on the pauses between lessons and I can not use my Macintosh since I have to use floppy disks to transfer it to an other computer and the hitch is, no computer around has one. However, I am sure I will get a laptop on my birthday this sunday. The novel is stored on a USBmemory-drive. However, I am not only writing an Avernum novel but I am remixing the BGM from the Exile games too. Later about that when I am done. -------------------- So, as the great Groxy, I have come back to be served by goblins. Answering the topic question, I would, provided the girl was nice. But then, I'm bi-sexual, so I probably would anyways.
