Oh. Well I have not yet had an English PhD, so I am not a perfect speller (I do try my best though). Thanx for pointing out the error, and don't comment on "thanx", please. ;)

That's a sentence fragment, TM.

Technically, it's an ellipsis.

...which does not change the fact that it's still a fragment.

—Alorael, who has just posted a dependent clause without a dependent clause. This may alternately be viewed as an intended continuation of TM's post. Choose the way that appeals most to your inner linguist.

It is thoroughly impossible to post a dependent clause without a dependent clause.

Either way, it's still grammatically incorrect, since TM's post wasn't an independent clause either.

Hey, my daughter is a dependent person without a dependent person, because her stuffed animals don't need to eat. So why not a dependent clause without a dependent clause?

ADoS was pointing out (at least, I hope) the fact that Alorael meant to say he was posting an independent clause sans dependent clause.

I wish there was a suitably suave way of saying "you're wrong" that the throngs of morons here wouldn't construe into something considerably lamer.

This topic's survival largely still depends on TM's monikers. It periodically gets reborn whenever TM changes his monikers and adds a new post about it. We talk about a bunch of random stuff, and eventually it sinks out of visibility again until TM decides to change his moniker again. He still updates the first page, too.

Apparently it derives from "munik", meaning "name" in Shelta, a cant language based on Gaelic.

Actually, English is spoken in Wales. Welsh is taught in the schools and used on the signposts but only a minority of Welsh people (21%) actually speak it.

There is a distinction between Gaelic and Welsh; in fact most Welsh speakers cannot understand the Gaelic languages of Scotland and Ireland (again, spoken by a minority).

These, and other fascinating facts about Welsh, can be found here: About Welsh

Hmm, do you think the world should just gradually start using one universal language, or are there instrinct advantages to the diverse languages of the world? It makes sense that everyone should just have to learn one language and then be able to communicate with anybody around the world.

I think adapting to the diversity of cultures is preferable to the world conforming to a single standard.
