I doubt that your modifications to corescendata are the cause of the problems you describe, unless your text editor is doing something subtly bad. It sounds like BoA just doesn't like your computer.

It might also happen if the stackable items are from different scenarios. Beyond that, I'm stumped.

This will happen if one or both of the items aren't identified (or weren't identified when you first gave them to the character), or if you have a stack of 100 already. I'm guessing the former is more likely.

I did pretty much the same thing and was able to complete the scenario normally. Getting the papers before you're supposed to seems basically harmless.

Just ramble around through the forest and you'll get there eventually. Remember that you can move diagonally. For one of the forest camps you need sufficient Nature Lore to get in, but I don't think that's the one you're talking about.

The Giant Chief drinks an invulnerability potion at the start of the battle with him, which means he really is invulnerable for a few rounds. Spend those rounds killing his allies or healing, then go after him.

You can do everything in the scenario within the time limit if you're good. Just skip over the pointless time-wasting things like gold mining.
