Since I play the games for the story, not the strategy, I only ever give myself full stats to make myself virtually invincible. I don't give myself spells or creations, as that is the only way to judge how strong I have become at any given point in the game. I never edit sect loyalties, rather I always play the game through multiple times to see every facet the story has to offer. -------------------- You lose. So let me see if I got this right, Ephesos: 1. You don't like reading other people's posts. 2. You're one of the less active players despite the fact that you're the one that restarted this RP. 3. You're petty much playing by yourself on some distant island when you are participating. 4. You resort to personal attacks when better, more active players are trying to hold things together. I'll be the beacon of reason in this and ask: why don't you leave? I think it would work out best for everyone if you did, given the above facts. We'd get to keep playing without someone constantly whining about things, and hey, you might even be able to salvage a bit of your dignity on your way out. -------------------- You lose. Why would someone participate in a written RP if they have an aversion to reading? Are you people seriously that stupid? -------------------- You lose. Posts: 2156 | Registered: Thursday, August 24 2006 07:00 |

quote:Fair enough. Avernum has no more activity in it. I was going to enter the surface in my next post, but I'd rather be done with this RP than share the world with a petty prick like yourself. I'd ask that everyone leave my faction alone, but I'm not really that worried about anybody making it that far. Good luck, none the less. -------------------- You lose. quote:That's the stupidest thing ever. This is supposed to be an exercise in writing. RPs are supposed to have characters, they are supposed to have plot. If the lot of you put half the amount of effort your putting into OOC posts into IC posts, we wouldn't need worry about this RP dying. I have a post ready, but it is long, so I don't think Ephesos wants me to post it. -------------------- You lose. Posts: 2156 | Registered: Thursday, August 24 2006 07:00 |

At least my minions don't all recite ridiculous little phrases like some kind of twisted little Hitler Youth. Leave you're sanity at the door... and be sure to let a mod know if any of your friends or family members are breaking the Code of Conduct! Heil Stareye! My first Spiderweb game ever, Exile III. I had just beaten the alien slime and was confronting Erika about her glyph which I found in it's lair. Since I hadn't played the previous two Exiles, I didn't realize Erika was a hero and the greatest mage in Avernum. I refused her boon, judged her guilty, and attacked her. Unlike in the Avernum series, Exile doesn't even allow you to do damage to her before having you automatically slain (by fireballs coming out of the floors and walls, if I recall correctly). -------------------- You lose. It is a very pillar of group conformity and hostility on these boards. They seek to create a sense of exclusive fraternity by using phrases and arcane inside jokes that outsiders can not understand. It makes the community openly hostile to new people, so that only the very stubborn and annoying ones end up staying. You should fit right in. -------------------- You lose. The best part is I don't steal to sell, or even to amass a huge pile like several other people here do. I steal because I'm sadistic. Most of the stuff I steal ends up staying in my inventory until I find better things, at which point all those peasants' hard earned goods are left in the dirt in the deepest, darkest pits in all of Avernum, only to be discovered by future adventurers who will be disappointed to discover that I have taken all the good stuff and left my garbage behind. -------------------- You lose. I don't think you need personal experience to see that stabbing is more difficult than shooting. There's one scene in the new Rambo movie where a Burmese village is wiped out by soldiers and a lot of children are slain very graphically. Some are shot, babies are thrown into fires, etc. But the most brutal part of that whole scene was when one soldier stabs a kid with a bayonet, slowly. Really, shooting someone just requires one to pull a trigger, stabbing requires you to push an object into their flesh by hand. If you screw up, you have to pull it out and try again, rather than just hold that trigger. Shooting is easier. On rushing a gunman: I believe that, as crazy as it sounds, this is the recommended strategy for dealing with a terrorist or otherwise waco skinny white boy. -------------------- You lose. I don't get why people would take the time to post to say that they don't have the time to play the games on who's very forums they are posting. Having a mac, viruses are alien to me. My best friend used to get them all the time, though, mostly from porn, I think. The funniest one he ever got was some kind of virus for Diablo II. He went to some hacking website for some reason and after that, his characters in the game would constantly spam for the site and everyone could see it but him. His account was otherwise unaffected. He was shunned by everyone for this and eventually ended up having to delete that account and start a new one. It was hilarious. -------------------- You lose.
