Luckily for Dikiyoba, Dikiyoba liked both nephil graphics and the other slith graphic.
I liked them to. However, after playing four Avernum games, it'd be nice to get something different.

Anyway, I just put the demo on my machine (A loading screen. *SNIFF* Awww, Avernum's all grown up). I'm looking at the graphics for something to use in my scenario and I see something that makes me scream.

Avernum 4 has become the latest in a long series of games that have a beholder rip-off (Granted, it has nine eyestalks, so it just barely squeezes past the OGL). More signs JV is losing his originality.

PS: Does anyone know how to make the mouse move any faster? It's driving me crazy!

Good comics. Any way you can convert them into one graphic?

Arghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! Why do my parents have to have dial-up?

EDIT: Yes, I intentionally spelled it with 9 'h's...

I will be counting the hours until I get access to the high-speed at school.

EDIT: Actually, I'll wait until JV releases it. This smells... fishy.

My worst mistake with the Editor is not knowing about the existence of the few tools it has. Like manually changing the height square by square, THEN seeing that you can do it all at one.

Arghhhhhhhhh.

EDIT: Latest pet peeve: having to re-do all my walls just so I can place terrain by a wall.

I think that all right-thinking people in this country are sick and tired of being told that ordinary decent people in this country are fed up with being sick and tired. I am certainly not. And I'm sick and tired of being told that I am.

scenario and its plural in Blades of Avernum

Note that Spiderweb Software is based in North America, not Europe. It will thus remain 'scenarios'.

What's next? The plural of 'moose' is 'meese'?

EDIT: Oops, misread.

Yes, TM has an unfortunate propensity towards insults. Address this directly, don't insult him back. Responding to ad hominem with ad hominem is always a bad idea.

Yeah, it probably wasn't the greatest idea. Working on someone else's work is never fun.

Besides, the only people who could actually do it would be the designers, who probably would prefer to work on their own scenarios.

Is Limbo the same as Purgatory?

Don't we all love the doctrine of the RCC. Need to build a cathedral in Rome. No problem: make the masses think they have to pay their way out of Purgatory. Cod discovered in the Grand Banks? Make it official canon to eat fish on Friday.

On infinity: yes, there is more than one infinity. Infinity as expressed by the Reals is infinitely more infinite than infinity as expressed by the Rationals (say that three times fast).

If that didn't blow your mind, look here!

EDIT: Made the above slightly more understandable.

I solemnly swear to release at least one BoA scenario by November.

By SupaNik:

Edit: Wait... wouldn't this be a good way to get more people interested in BoA? By converting BoE scenarios, we're creating a new pool of scenarios to play. And it shouldn't take as long as making one from scratch, right?
By TM:
quote:
Absolutely horrible. Be prepared to re-write scripts by yourself, and the towns/outdoors will be completely butchered.
I'm just spitballing here, but out of curiosity, how hard would it be to port a scenario that wasn't your own? If there are any abandoned BoE scenarios, maybe someone could port them...

Poor Americans. The problem with only two parties is that in order to get a little good change, you have to put up with a lot of bad. Why is it that Americans group moral, economic, and foreign policy all together?

On the plus side, it makes the democratic process so much easier. Two political parties, two sides of a coin. Coincidence? I think not!

Dungeons & Dragons: Love the game, hated the movie. C'mon, you can't make a movie solely based on cliches for any other genre, why should you for fantasy?

On a side note: my DM recommends D&D2. Should I watch it, or save myself two hours?
