Well, don't worry about me wasting my time on the general forum again. I am very disturbed at the sorry attitudes and immature reactions on here by the 'veterans' of this forum. And I'm not saying this about ALL veteran members here, just the select few that responded in 10 year- old fashion. And the funny thing is that no one finds the actions of these people unacceptable. I've done nothing wrong and I'm getting roasted for raising the Karma question. I didn't see anyone even a moderator coming to my defense or offer any assistance. You obviously have your established clique, and don't care to expand to others. So consider this my last post for good in this place. BTW - Don't bother responding, as I will not be coming back to see them Posts: 69 | Registered: Friday, June 10 2005 07:00 |

Now why would someone go and give me a Karma of 1 star? I've done nothing but be helpful to others on the boards and keep my opions to myself for the most part. So I ask again, why would someone go and give me 1 star? I can actually only think of one reason why, and it has nothing to do with my attitude and candor in here.... Anyone ever heard of Rise of the Triad? It's an older game from the late 90's where you pretty much wage war on the Third Reich. I just thought it was cool because you could set the soldiers on fire and they'd run around screaming "IT BURNS IT BURNS AHHHHH!" The voice was almost comical. I'ma little late doing this test, but better late than never. I didn't like the way some of the questions were worded, as it could have gone either way in my beliefs. Atleast they gave a middle-of-the-road button. Christianity 100% Islam 50% Judaism 42% Buddhism 33% Hinduism 17% atheism 17% Paganism 17% Satanism 0% agnosticism 0% You scored as Christianity. Your views are most similar to those of Christianity. Do more research on Christianity and possibly consider being baptized and accepting Jesus, if you aren't already Christian. Christianity is the second of the Abrahamic faiths; it follows Judaism and is followed by Islam. It differs in its belief of Jesus, as not a prophet nor historical figure, but as God in human form. The Holy Trinity is the concept that God takes three forms: the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Ghost (sometimes called Holy Spirit). Jesus taught the idea of instead of seeking revenge, one should love his or her neighbors and enemies. Christians believe that Jesus died on the cross to save humankind and forgive people's sins. Yes, I'd say Nethergate is one of Jeff's top 5 games. It ranks up there with Exile I and Geneforge I. Posts: 69 | Registered: Friday, June 10 2005 07:00 |

I have to take it back to playing in a band. I was scheduled to play a solo, where the entire band stops playing during that time, in front of 20,000 fans at a college basketball game like I have the previous 5 or 6 games, but for some reason when I went to play, this time nothing would come out of my horn! I tried three times and nothing.... so the band played on and my face was as red as my outfit that night... Posts: 69 | Registered: Friday, June 10 2005 07:00 |

quote:I had offered a similar recommendation as far as making the latest GF game much different from prior versions. I see the only problem with improbablility is that Jeff would spend a LOT of time working on a section of game that most won't even get to play due to timing. I don't think he'd want to spend a week on a section that only a small % of folks would get to play... Posts: 69 | Registered: Friday, June 10 2005 07:00 |

I don't know how many levels I advanced thanks to the Spawners of old. I would do the same thing, just keep letting them make rogues and squish them for experience. Jeff became wise to the practice unfortunately.... Of course, you can always hang out at the infested swamps which never stop generating annoying thads.... Are you possibly trying to play GF3 while at work?! Oh my goodness if you are... I could see the need to have a smaller window that would be easy to minimize when the boss comes in. Welllllllllllllll....... I will say I've played all GF and Avernum and Exile games, plus a coupla other Spidweb games while at work... Probably been payed thousands of dollars to play games w/o them knowing over the past 8 years. Posts: 69 | Registered: Friday, June 10 2005 07:00 |

Is the game worth playing through as a rebel with Greta when you've already played it once without her? I went back as a loyal and played with Alwan. It did add some different converstaions and a little different ending and just wanted to know others opinions. I've played the whole game through 4 times and had a hard time finishing this last one due to growing tired of the game... Posts: 69 | Registered: Friday, June 10 2005 07:00 |

I agree that GF1 is still the best. Sequels need to build upon the first one and add new twists to keep the excitement there. The last two have the 'recycled' feel to them... Posts: 69 | Registered: Friday, June 10 2005 07:00 |
What items to keep? in Geneforge Series | |

For the weight of items like flawed crystals and iron bars versus the value of them, they really aren't worth carrying around. It doesn't take many of them to become encumbered. I find some of the best items to keep for the purpose of selling are gems, thorns (all types), even pods are good too. Items that are only 0.1 pounds are easy to accumulate without the encumbrance. Unfortunately, about the only things worth buying in the game are living tools and ability upgrades. There really isn't a need to buy armor, pods (maybe buy a curing pod or two), weapons, batons, etc. You find equally (or better) valuable items in random encounters than what you'd find in the stores. It seems the only rich people in the GF game are the trainers... Posts: 69 | Registered: Friday, June 10 2005 07:00 |

The ending has some different wordings dependent on whether you use leass than 6 or 6 or more... But ultimately, it really doesn't make a whole lot of difference. I've seen both endings. Posts: 69 | Registered: Friday, June 10 2005 07:00 |

Since this one takes place on a bunch of islands, don' tyou think it would have been fun to have some encounters on the sea between islands? Not necessarily every time, but once or twice. Maybe a ship full of rogues creations or a might sea creature rogue? I dunno, just something that would have been totally new to the GF series... Posts: 69 | Registered: Friday, June 10 2005 07:00 |

There should have been an option to destroy the canisters so a loyal shaper would not be breaking the shaper ways and prevent others from using it as well. Or maybe he could collect them and turn them into Lord Rahul for a reward and disposal... Sorry, I don't remember the number and can't even remember the id. I'm wanting to say it was 'Colt'. I called up Spidweb and they looked into it and said that for some reason, several id's were corrupted and could not be restored. This happened about 3 years ago now if I'm not mistaken. And as for the communication part, I there should be certain etiquite upheld and enforced, absolutely. But the enforcement needs to be left to moderators who are on here all the time. One member should never correct another member unless you want to post it privately to them about the mistake. Posting for all to see would likely make the original poster feel embarassed and uncomfortable, no matter how nice it is put.
