I'm sorry, I assumed by default that people would not assume by default that war is the default answer to removal of a government. As for the cases of contradictions, I see it now. If you look back, I made the same pair of contradictory statements twice in slightly different forms. And to everyone in general, I'm sorry that I've made so many posts in the topic. I feel your pain. -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

quote:I'm not seeing the contradiction. I see a sentence that I unnoticingly made contradictory in my second post ("I find it amusing that you think there is a contradiction blah blah blah"). My statement about the possibility of Israel only restructuring rather than dissolving its government could be taken as a call for Israel to reform rather than cease existing. But I would estimate the necessary restructuring to be so drastic that the state Israel as it is would cease to exist. But that, if we look at these posts in chronological order, was after Zeviz told me I was making contradictory statements and so has no bearing. Someone will have to spell out the contradiction for me. quote:If everyone let everyone else wander around spreading opposing views we would be much poorer. It can barely be called "not nice" anyway, as most people are more than happy to defend their opinions. It's also helpful because people get to test and expand their views and knowledge. quote:And if it was? Is there something I don't know? Have I broken the U.S.A.'s laws unknowingly? Are we so pro-Israeli now that we've passed laws against free speech and calls for reform? Someone please inform me what the problem is with stating my opinions in the hopes of an argument. quote:I wasn't referring to you. I'm sorry for the confusion. -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

quote:I find it amusing that you think there is a contradiction. Israel should not exist in the state it is now, but that's no reason to remove the government by force or indeed to even remove the government. And ad hominenm attacks aren't the best way to solve disputes. Inciting them, yes, but that's really not what anyone wants. Right? Quick, fun, very late fact: I have incredibly strong throat muscles, and am impervious to the average choke. My flexed throat is so strong I can walk forward while people attempt to choke me. Now that I've delivered my incredibly important message, I would like to mention as a sidenote that I voted for molten lead. -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |

I've heard that the maximum is 256. I can't prove that and I can't find my source for this information, though. Jeff handles SDFs from 0 to 250. To be safe, I'd put the cufoff point there. To cope with your bank problem, I'd use five SDFs: four which span 250 numbers, and one to count the 1000's place. That way, the player can chose how much money to withdraw or deposit with much more accuracy. I was planning an open scenario where you have to bribe and extort your way through a city, and each day you would make an ammount of money based on the number of people under your thumb. I realized early on that you would have to handle numbers which might exceed the physical limits of the SDF. EDIT: You know, I think I'll get back to work on that scenario. quote:When you say £0.34, you're talking about pounds sterling. Fractions of sterling, but sterling nonetheless. 50p, on the other hand, obviously does not have a placeholder in the tenth's place and so does not refer to £, but pence. EDIT: Got my English units mixed up. I'm suprised no one said anything; do you people just not care? Nethergate also has another two ogre graphics which have not been mentioned in this thread. I don't have Nethergate on my computer, but I did recently. I can tell you that if you want mutant ogres, they would probably be best. -------------------- quote: Posts: 1115 | Registered: Sunday, May 15 2005 07:00 |
