Enter the level from the north, and then search the area to the south, and then go west if it isn't there. (603) [ Friday, August 20, 2004 21:57: Message edited by: Seletine ] Posts: 726 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

To pass the burning walls, talk to Vahkohs and accept his challenge. You will now be able to pass the first two(to his treasure.) To pass the third one, go to the entrance to the tomb and kill Vahkohs; you will only be able to do this if you have previously agreed to his challenge. After both of these are done, you can get to the crystal. (602) Posts: 726 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

After you killed Elhioc, King Vothkaro should have told you that there's a map in the Giant Caves. Go there, get the map, and use it. Travel through the Concealed Tunnel and the Barrier Cavern, and smash the crystal there. You should now be able to pass the runes at the entrance to Castle Troglo. Which gremlin are you stuck at? For the first gremlin, answer 'rose', and '5678' for the second gremlin. The levers in the Tomb of Vahkohs open and close portcullises behind secret doors. There is a secret door near the end of each of the passages north and south from the entrance. (600) Posts: 726 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

You can purchase up to two points in Create Glaahk at the Loyalist Encampment(Loyalists and nonaligned only), in the Upper Research Hall(Loyalists only), in Phariton's Hall(nonaligned only), or from Fenen in the Radiant College; you may need to have 5 points in Leadership before Fenen will teach you how. There is also a canister of Create Glaahk in the Demonic Depot. You won't be able to reach that canister anytime soon. (598) Posts: 726 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

1. Go into the room where Shath is(it's in the north central part of the level), and pull the lever there. All of the four doors will now open when you get close to them. 2. You can get five points in Create Drayk in the game without cheating. Phariton(Phariton's Hall) and Fenen(Radiant College) will teach you how to do it up to a maximum of two points. There's a canister in Barzahl's room in Rising, which is only accessible to Barzites. Another is in the SE corner of Zhass-Uss Outskirts, which is guarded by a drakon and a rothgroth. There's also a point you can pick up in the Radiant College besides what you can get from Fenen, but I don't remember where it is offhand. 1. Barzites can be taught this from Burham, in the Radiant College. Takers can get it from Salgurdar in Benerii-Uss. Neither of them will teach you until you have been modified. You can find canisters of Create Drakon in Shath's Waste, Benerii-Uss Entry, Benerii-Uss Holding, and Inner Gazak-Uss. 2. That depends on where you are in the game. 3. You can't quit the Loyalists without joining another faction, and there is no way for you to rejoin a faction that you left without using the cheat codes. The Create Drayk canister in Rising is in Barzahl's room; you need to be a Barzite to reach it. In the Zhass-Uss Outskirts, the canister is in a building to the southeast; it is guarded by a drakon and a rothgroth. You can also buy Create Drayk from Fenen in the Radiant College, and from Phariton in Phariton's Hall. Phariton will only teach you if you are nonaligned, and requires that you complete a quest first. (595) Posts: 726 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

I presume you mean the northern golem spire. In that case, enter the Golem Factory and get the key from the bottom level; there is a staircase down in the NE area. Once you have that key, return to the main floor and then use the staircase up in the NW area. Make your way to the control room in the SE corner of the second floor, and press the Grid Alpha and Grid Beta buttons. You should also press the Shielding First and Shielding Second buttons while you're in the control room. Once those buttons have been pushed, return to the basement and exit to the north. You will be near the northern spire. (594) Posts: 726 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

Head to Storm Port, and then north; you will come to a river. Look for a sign at the south end of the river; you will be able to walk through the water near that sign. Once you are north of the river, start looking for a stone circle in the mountains. Once you have found that, walk out of the mountains and head east until you come to the coast. Start searching this section of the coast for more water spaces you can walk into. (593) Posts: 726 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

Go to the southeast coast, and then try walking into the water. One of the water spaces will allow you to enter; this is the beginning of a path. Take the path to its end(you may need to fly), and you will reach someone who sells mandrake. (592) Posts: 726 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

If you are outside of the crypt and can't get in, wait until the first day of any month, and then try again. If you have Unlock Doors level 3, you can get in whenever you want. Each month in Avernum has 35 days if I remember correctly. If you are in the crypt and can't get out, drink from the enlightening pool in the crypt and head for the door straight away. You should be able to unlock the door from the inside if you are enlightened. (591) Posts: 726 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

There are two entrances to the Gale library; one is through city hall, and the other is through a secret passage south of city hall. The first entrance is usually only useful if you have Unlock Doors at level 3. If you do not have that spell, talk to Nantier about the library, and then find a secret passage in the northwest corner of town. One of the people there will give you a key for 5000 gold. Once you have the key, go to the southwest corner and look for secret passages. One of those passages will get you into the library if you have the key or Unlock Doors at level 3. To get Unlock Doors at level 3, get Dispel Barrier at level 2(from Mayor Knight's quest in Sharimik), and then go to the House on the Hill, which is in mountains east and a bit south of Softport. The tunnel is below the Golem Factory, but you need to reach the control panel in the southeast corner of the second floor to pass through it. Enter the factory, and retrieve a key from a chest under the factory; the staircase is in the northeast corner. When that is done, climb to the second level through a staircase in the northwest corner of the first, and head for the control panel. Once you have reached the control panel, press the grid alpha and beta buttons as well as the two shielding buttons. From there, go down to the lowest level, and then to the north exit. This depends on which mission you are trying to complete, but a general suggestion is to send one of your warships to the point where the enemy is making ships and destroying the spacedock there; if it's a planet, leave your ship in orbit until you can either launch a ground assault or destroy all structures on the planet. If you are playing the first mission in the Terran campaign, you will need to build ships with some of your resources early on to survive. Once you have defeated the enemy, you can begin accumulating the necessary resources. (586) Posts: 726 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

Find the three Vahnatai deep in the school; they will tell you that the friendly spiders have an opening stone. Go to the spider caves further up; I think the spiders are in the Administration level. Ask the chief spider about the stone, and you will get a quest to retrieve some eggs. Complete this quest, and you will get directions to the stone, which will appear in your inventory. When you use this stone, it will allow you to pass through all of the green barriers on the level where you used it. The stone has unlimited uses.
