Yay, Easter. The time to celebrate the resurrection of Christ. Usually I just go to church like normal and hide Easter eggs and eat chocolate. -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

My online identity ceases to be important when I die. Therefore, all my account will undoubtedly rot in perpetual inactivity until those respective forums are shut down. I suppose Jeff could mine out my password and username if he wanted and give it to someone else once I died, but there'd be no point in artifically bragging about 3000 posts you didn't make. I don't know. Will these forums live until I die? [ Thursday, April 06, 2006 14:05: Message edited by: Ur-Noob ] -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

Well, there has been a strange lack of Exile vs. Avernum topics lately. For months, actually. -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

You mays well start with Avernum 1 and move your way up. Based on the fact that E3 is my favorite Exile, I voted for A3, but get what you want. They're all good. -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

Hmmm. I could also suggest Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure GeneRally (though it takes some resources) Age of Empires (also takes some resources but is really awesome) And a few others that I used to play from a disk of about 1000 shareware games. I can't remember what they were though. :/ -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

What is the weirdest thing you've ever seen? I dunno. Those things just don't stick in my mind for long. What is the weirdest thing you've done? Got a D on a history test. It doesn't happen often for me. What is the most humiliating thing you have ever done for money? I've been tempted to lick up someone's spit, but nobody would've really paid me. What is the most humiliating thing you would ever do for money? I'm sure I'm yet to do it. If you could travel back time, what historical event would you like to witness “live” and why? Probably Jesus's life. If you were a meal how would you describe yourself? Eh.. Dunno. Have you ever gone a whole day without wearing underwear? When I was a baby, I'm pretty sure I wore diapers instead. What is the stupidest thing you’ve ever bought? Some toy I don't use anymore. If you had to kill a SW member, who would it be and why? Kill a Spiderweb member? Nah, they're all my friends. If you had to pick between TM or Alec, who would you pick? and WHY? Probably Alec. He seems safer. -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

The answer really is pretty simple: limit the encumberance and up the defense skill. For example, in E3 (and I don't know if any of these items are available in E1) I give all my mages low or zero-encumberance armor, such as the Runeshield, Steel-Toed Boots, and Mitril Armor. I really don't know exactly how much defense you need to consistently overcome each unit of encumberance, and it's probably different between the games and depends on things like level too, so I'm really to lazy to find out for you right now. You could do it yourself though, and the Spiderweb community would be happy to hear of your results. :) -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

I don't know if random numbers can be implemented in a formula, but they can in a game algorithm, the precise workings of which only Jeff knows. -------------------- -ben4808 Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |
