Okay, that still won't stop people from forming new and exciting hatreds.

Lego, once again you surprise me with the surprising amount of hatred and bitterness in your views, and in your perceptions of everyone here.

Okay, so memories and history give people reasons for being racist. But if you could modify memories, you'd just be hitting the reset button... those same misguiding episodes that sparked racism in history could just be repeated many, many more times, leading to a need for more and more editing. To prevent racism, you'd need total thought control, which seems to be just fine by you, as long as you're the one in control.

(Wow, I just kind of used a slippery slope argument. That makes me want to kick myself a bit... but my point stands!)

You know... I'm out. I just can't do it... and I've got a BoA scenario to rush to beta.

Maybe if I can get that beta done by the 10th, I can start afresh and late. But for now, I give. :(

Yeah, the debate just went there. And about the bison herds, they're making a comeback. So at least we're not total failures at keeping species alive...

I do believe you have to go retrieve the Mica Tome from Gaddika, up in the far NE of Vahnatai lands, and give the tome to Rentar. Of course, I might've remembered this wrong.

EDIT: Clarification.

Well, very few people enjoy being shouted at or getting into trouble... it's just that even fewer enjoy being bullied.

Here's a question: If you're meeting someone for the first time, do you assume anything about them in terms of them being a good/evil person? Heck, it could be reduced to pleasant/unpleasant.

Personally, I assume good/pleasant until they prove me wrong.

Well, I picked "never", just because it came closest out of those choices.

Seriously though, I'll keep my memories. Without them, I'm not the same me, and this particular me isn't comfortable with that idea right now.

Well, sure... the sun will eventually expand to a red giant phase where it eventually engulfs the inner planets, and I guess that could be viewed as a global warming of sorts (including the run-up to that point). I mean, if it doesn't explode.

And technically, we're still in an "ice age" now, and will be until the Antarctic and Greenland ice sheets melt. But the thing is, we're not really equipped to handle the end of said ice age, at least not on an immediate time scale.

Fatman: I'm just kind of curious. Exactly what natural processes are causing this drastic climate change, then?

(Calamari is pretty good... it just usually needs sauce to taste like much of anything. That said, I'd like to have some variety left in my diet when the ice caps melt, so I'm all for conserving fish.)

Alo: Point taken.

Fatman: I apologize for my overreaction. Something about this topic is just getting me angry... perhaps it's those memories of being one of those little kids who got taunted all the time. But then again, that's a stupid excuse.

This is probably the case with me. I don't like hurting people.

Look, man. I don't like hurting people either. I consider myself a pacifist. I just think that there's a point where you just can't take it anymore and you just have to slap someone (for me, it takes a while to get there).

But the least you can do is to avoid the freakin' antagonist.

Twist or No Twist? in Blades of Avernum

Um... if your scenario's plot is strong enough, it shouldn't really need twists. That said, the occasional twist (for a small scenario, maybe one) isn't always a bad thing.

Is there any context that should be associated with this question?

Heck... the first time I played A2, I could barely take on the aranea before Chapter 2, and I doubt I was much lower than 8.

That said, go take on the aranea... level 3 Bolt of Fire will serve you well.

The Honolulu Advertiser. The Honolulu Advertiser. Please, if you want me to believe you, show me something that's been peer-reviewed, and written by an actual researcher. And that article is spun harder than cotton candy...

And about factoring in natural changes in temperature... well, it just doesn't vary as much as it is right now. Most of the IPCC models show that the current temperature fluctuations are out of the "natural" range. Granted, part of the temperature change is natural, but the majority is easily traced to human influences.

I disagree strongly. There are only actions, and everything else is relative.

Okay, so the social norm should include the passivity required to give potential bullies targets? I don't see why we can't change the societal norm.

I think you're missing my point. I'd rather raise the social norm than drag a few individuals kicking and screaming towards it.

And the channelling aggressiveness? More textbook child psychology. I don't have a good response to it, because it just makes me angry... maybe I'll think up a good one later.

I'm very confused. If you're ready to go after Grah-Hoth, you should be far past the Chasm of the Spire. But since it seems that you're having difficulty getting to Grah-Hoth's fortress, I'll direct you here, to Silver's Annotated Maps.

To cross the Chasm of the Spire, your only option really is to go through the Fort Spire checkpoint.
