quote:Gah... there is no graemlin to communicate the rapidity with which I would leave the community if forced to do such a thing. :P Anyway, I'm still convinced that a Blades version of NaNoWriMo could have some success. No, I had that same problem with Freewebs... if you validated it, it should've sent an email with a link that you need to follow. Then, if you're already logged in to your account at that time, you have to log back out then back in again. Stupid? Yes. Ineffective? Yes. But oh well... -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. With a passion. I have no idea about either of those, really... but I have one from BoA. A Small Ember of Large Backwater Rats. Ishad, I support your ideas, but I don't think I could really help much. I'm interested in seeing if you can get a smallish scenario successfulyl ported, though. I just keep thinking about how some people always use the sunglasses one, and it really annoys me... But yeah, I've used some of them, but 98% of the time I'll just stick with the default. I saw the title of this topic, and I thought to myself "I love how these topics pop up every few weeks, and they're always by people who've never touched the editor and never..." Oh wait, it's Thralni. But yeah, I'm still working on another. Right now, it's a vague idea for a plot and a lot of pretty islands... I'll get a screenshot up on my site later. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. With a passion. quote:Eh, is that only because we're the only ones on Vantanas? :P I might have a slightly cliché way to get rid of the rakshasi, but it could possibly be enough. Of course, it would trample all over TM's canon, but I don't really care. EDIT: Um... TM currently objects to his status as a confirmed nonparticipant. He says he's still in. Lego, you continually surprise me with your strangeness. For the most part, I can't see them... it takes a long time for my eyes to adjust correctly. When I see them, I see them the normal way, whatever that means. But they're generally boring. EDIT: That's odd... I think Dikiyoba made an invisible post. EDIT2: And it's back. Eh, whatever. Okay, SoylentGreen, this topic has been dead for a year. There was absolutely no need to revive it, and you should refrain from doing this sort of thing, unless you actually have something to add to the conversation. Thanks. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. With a passion. Right, this poll is broken. I can't not offer an opinion for BoE, and I have no idea which would do well. ------------------- No force in nature can triumph forever. It's only a matter of time until a tree falls on it. - Teachings of the Order ------------------- The portal stayed open as another demon climbed out of it. The air began to smell uncomfortably of sulfur, and a few of the novices that accompanied the expedition started gagging. "Humans!" the second demon shouted in a raspy voice reminiscent of spearpoints dragging across chalkboards. "I am Akrahd, and I come from the netherworld!" It held up a few claws for dramatic effect. However, the first demon began sniggering, a sound which reminded Brother Redscale of dying animals. "Silence, Brektkhazadar!" Akrahd said. He quickly clawed Brektkhazadar with a greenish arm-like protrusion from his torso, and he stopped sniggering. A few of the more senior priests with the expedition had begun to chant spells, and the warriors in the party were edging towards the demons. Brother Redscale bade them to stop with a wave of his hand. "What brings you to Vantanas?" Akrahd sniggered this time. "You do not know? You cannot feel the force whose power is enough to disrupt the fabric of this world and ours? You humans are truly more inept than we had thought." Brother Redscale pointed at Brektkhazadar, uttered a single syllable of power, and a thin bolt of pure white light burst from the tips of his claws. It struck Brektkhazadar's torso, and burned a hole straight through it. The demon winced. "Right, right, right..." he said. "So these are so-called 'holy' ones. Then you should be concerned about this as much as us!" "Why, foul one?" Akrahd spoke. "The cats threaten us all, you (untranslatable demonic curse)" Brother Redscale gave Akrahd a harsh look, and the demon apologized for the curse. "We have many soldiers! You should fear us!" "So do we, demon," Redscale said, gesturing to the party around him, which was slowly closing in on the portal. "Fine, fine, fine," Akrahd said, edging towards the swirling red portal. "We don't want to fight you anyway. Right, Brekt?" "But Akrahd, just yesterday you said—" Brektkhazadar was cut off by a claw applied directly to what was probably his face. After a moment, he regained his composure. "Yeah, that's exactly what you said." "Our only wish is to fight that which threatens our plane. The (untranslatable demonic curse) cats!" "The cats?" Redscale said. Somewhere in the back of the ruined temple, Brother Wolfbane heard this and shuddered. "Yes, you fool! The (curse) (curse) (curse) rakshasi, those (curse) (curse) of (curse) (curse) that (curse) their (curse)!" "Rakshasi?!" Redscale yelled. But they exist only in legend! Could Wolfbane have seen... surely no. There must be a logical explanation for— Redscale's thoughts were interrupted by a piercing cry from the back of the temple, followed by a crumbling sound and angry snarling. OoC: Yay! I'm back in. -------------------- Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice. I hate undead. I really, really, really, really hate undead. With a passion. Hm... so, since we seem to have the problem of a rising menace without a controller, I have a proposal, thought up by Lazarus: Let's fast-forward a few years. Maybe get a few posts in beforehand to warm everybody up again, let one person post a disembodied-narrator sort of thing to summarize the damage, and then we continue with a bit of a blank slate. Other people will be able to jump in, and then we might get a new menace before long. Either way, I'm working to post another IC in the present. -------------------- Thuryl: "Runescape: for people who are too stupid to save their games." Gamble with Gaea, and she eats your dice.
