Congratulations, Synergy. Not only for your post count, but also for finding some good images.

Since posting random pics showing ones post count is pretty commonplace (but still annoying), here is a pic I found!

P.S. This is the first and LAST time I'll do this. :cool:

Seriously, those are some of the best images I've seen for one of these. Ever.

Congrats!

Silly. You need to initiate your variable with a value before you can increment it! :P

Hooray for Synergy!

Impressive.
Congrats, Syn.

Cycles and seasons. I'll likely become sparse in the near future for some months before A5. But yeah, there's really no escape. This Jeff guy keeps making these fun games, you see.

I can't believe I've actually made this many posts in an online forum. I'm feeling a little disturbed.

It's the recent surge for Geneforge 4 and you'll quiet down again like you did after Avernum 4. Although the Saga is better than your earlier work.

And while I'm nitpicking about coding anyway, don't you think using the boolean type for the value of pretty() would make much more sense? :P

postcount ++;
if (pretty($postCount)) {
celebrationThread($postCount);
}

You forgot the function.
int pretty (int post_count);

...

int pretty (int post_count) {
if (! post_count % 1000)
return 1;
else
return 0;
}

I think writing out as much as possible is nice on forums where most people probably aren't programmers. But not much of most!

—Alorael, who challenges anyone to write a pretty post count program in TECO. Triple points if you do it braincensored instead.

Thanks for the lovely sentiments, but would you guys stop geeking up the thread, already? It was my understanding there was to be no math.

Thralni, I DID leave for around half a year, which was entirely satisfactory to my intention and proved my ability to Just Say No whenever I want. Really. No, really. It might be worth observing that I have managed to stay almost wholly away from spiritual or medical debates during my whole second era here. So, in a way, the Synergy that was did depart and not return. I departed at 777 and have added some 222+ since then.

I forgot to mention Nethergate. If Jeff has beta testing for the redo, then I hope to take part, as I never quite finished the original, as much as I enoyed it. I would still love to finish it and find out how it ends. I played earlier portions of the game several times from both sides, and I loved the giant cliff you encounter as the Romans. I got frustrated with parts of the game engine, and the way the map would overlap what I wanted to be seeing. Little things can greatly interfere with my overall enjoyment of a game. So, I'm saying I hope to be around and involved in the Nethergate revival even before A5.

Meanwhile, I'm already sensing I might have another game of GF4 in me yet before I'm done for a bit around here. I may want to try a more extreme experiment with the Infiltrator after I am through my present run. It will be fresh in my mind, along with ideas how I want to modify the experience.

Maybe.
