Yes, the only way I could post in this tread after Sir Alexander had posted was by using netscape. I would just switch to Netscape entirely, but I am too entrenched in using IE, and the MMORPG I play, as well as other things, don't function well on Netscape. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! To begin this post, I would like to make clear that the following statements are derived from information from my church?s Prophet, other ordained leaders, and scriptures. From scripture and modern revelation it is shown homosexuality is a serious sin. God?s plan is for marriage between a man and a woman, not for men with men and women with women. This does not mean homosexuals are bad people. They can be good people who are confused, have made a mistake, or were just never taught that it was wrong. Along with Andrew Miller?s statement, I agree that the Bible is not U.S. law. If you choose to be homosexual, that is your choice and you have every right to make it. However, there is a difference between allowing you to make your choice and changing laws to pander to it. God doesn?t change, but society does. When society changes sometimes rules no longer apply or need to be changed. The flood was not God changing His mind and deciding to destroy the people, but the people changing to the extent where they needed to be destroyed. Different sins do have different levels seriousness. Shoplifting is most definitely not on the same level as rape and murder. Hell is not actually a pit of flames and demonic torture. These are more metaphors of how you would feel knowing you could have been more but are stuck in hell for eternity with no chance for progression. However, we have been told that we will be able to count on one hand the number of people that end up going there. Those generally thought of who will be going to ?hell? (murderers, etc.) will be going to the lowest of the 3 degrees of heaven. Satan is not working with God nor is he His tool. Satan chose not to follow God?s plan and was cast out with those who followed him. Now miserable and unable to progress they seek to bring everyone down to their level with the opinion that if they can?t go to heaven, neither should you. I find it difficult to view religions whose basis is try to be like Jesus as an ?insidious and terrible force?. I recall some time ago that there were catholic priests under investigation for sexual harassment. This doesn?t mean the God the Catholics worship supported their actions. You cannot base an opinion on God upon faulty examples such as the crusades, etc. People are human and make mistakes. God allowing these actions to occur is not the same as God supporting them. I agree entirely with Eldiran. My religion can be extremely difficult to follow at times, but I try anyway because I have found it to be true. It also follows that ?anything worth having is worth working for.? To Andrew Miller: I have ?seen? and it was a great experience. -------------------- Need a pet? Need cheap labor? Buy a Moose! I am using an old version because my computer is stupid and has some of the wierdest quirks ever. Including the inabilty to install the updates of IE. If it wouldn't be too much trouble could you just change the hearts? And while I'm at it I might as well make another attempt to update. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! You know. I DO see little boxes that look like [] in his signature. So while I cannot see the characters, at least my computer can handle them. Perhaps the problem lies in his location rather than the signature. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! Sir Alexander: for some reason, everytime I get to the bottom of one of your posts Internet explorer says it has perfomed an illegal operation and shuts down. I experimented with your posts on many different threads and determined that it must be something in your signature. Would mind changing it please? Thank you. In BoE I just put the horse graphic in place of one of the uglier PC graphics, made another character and named it Pack Horse. I used the editor to make him slithzerikai, all strenth, health and defence. In combat, just make him run away. Makes combat a bit annoying sometimes, but it works. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! Deep down, you wish you were a stick figure. Alex joins Ray, Sadith and the others and speaks. "I was separated from the group and knew some of you were coming here so I just kind of stumbled along this way. So, from what I heard, we are stealing the Stone of Thunder and making Sylvian into an Avatar of Hiram?" "Yes, but the ritual must be done inside the temple. With your aid we can speed the process and lower the risks." "Since the magic is within a stone it should react very well with my talent for earth magic. This may speed it up even further." "Good, the shorter the ritual, the better." "Also, I know the spell Stealth, which may get us past less powerful or less alert demons. So, um, what exactly am I supposed to do? And when are we doing this? I can use some magic restoratives I have in my pack to restore my mind and energy, but it won't be as good as if I can get some rest." -------------------- Need a pet? As the group attempted to outrun the forest fire, Alex was bit by bit being left behind. He had regained some strength, but was still mostly drained from creating the Demonslayer. By the time he thought to call to the others to wait they were too far ahead to hear him. Despairing, he collapsed to the ground, breathing heavily, and rested. A few minutes later he heard a rustling in the nearby brush. Knowing the group was far ahead, he realized it must be demons. He stumbled off into the woods for several minutes, but heard sounds of pursuit. Quaffing an energy elixer, and preparing a spell he turned to face his pursuers. Cackling, half a dozen imps charged him. Death Arrows quickly dispatched them and Alex gathered his strength to continue plodding wearily along. To his dismay, he realized he had no idea in which direction Selger lay and had lost the trail the group had left. Remembering that some of the group were heading up to the temple, he scanned the mountaintops for it. Locating it, he set off. ------------------------------------------ Finally, Alex stumbled out of the brush to see the temple just ahead. Fortuanately, the few demons he had encountered were not more powerful than a few Kill spells and Ice Bolts couldn't handle. Pausing to catch his breath he hears voices. -------------------- Need a pet? Need cheap labor? Buy a Moose! Take the Personality Test! INTJ 100% 78% 44% 44% Huzzah for the Masterminds! Arriving back at the bunker, Garath called for some one to help him revive the two newcomers because they might have vital information. Not wanting to be caught by demons while he was still drained of magic, Alex decided it was time to use a couple of his small supply of potions. Alex studied the two to see what would be best to use on them. Fishing around in his pack and pulling out two small bottles, he told Garath to give this one to the priest and that one to the other. "What are these?" Garath asked suspiciously. Thinking fast, Alex replied, "Uh, they're herbal healing remedies, all-natural, perfectly normal, nothing strange about them at all, anyone who had studied a little could make them." Still slightly suspicious, Garath administered the potions and Alex sighed in relief as he saw them begin to take effect. -------------------- Need a pet? Need cheap labor? Buy a Moose! The main issue here is not cloud of blades, but rather the fact that forcecaged people should not be able to move or attack, but in town mode they can. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! As soon as Alex had entered the bunker he immediately took his supplies from the carts, went off into a distant corner, and set up a crude, but functional, forge. By this time, with aid of magic, he had managed to heat a fine steel sword to white hot and was mumbling incantations under his breath. With a flash of inspiration he stopped and call out "Thendran! Come over here quickly please!" Thendran complied. Alex continued, "I remebered an enchantment I know, but I need the aid of a priest. Will you help me?" Thendran replied that he would. Alex quickly instructed him and began working on the sword again. A time later there was a sudden flash of light and the mages all felt a sudden surge of power. everyone turned to see Alex and Thendran stagger. Indicating the sword in his arms Alex speaks, "Well, the two of us can't conjure a spark between us for a while, but now we have this. It's a Demonslayer. Who is skilled with swords?" -------------------- Need a pet? Need cheap labor? Buy a Moose! Take the Personality Test! INTJ 100% 78% 44% 44% Huzzah for the Masterminds! My second point was the Wall of Blades bug, not the fact that forcecage makes enemies immune to attack. I should have phrased it differently. I think we should make a list of bugs for Jeff to fix in the next update. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! Deep down, you wish you were a stick figure. I discovered that in Avernum 2 if you have used the editor to max out a skill and then had the game give you another level or two by special node that it breaks the skill cap and you can add lvls infinately using the editor. For example: I maxed out my mage spells then after returning from Vahnatai lands I received from the game another level. The skill cap was broken and I used the editor to give my mage 3500 in mage spells (With the possibility for more, but I got tired of clicking the up arrow.) Is this possible in BoA? -------------------- Take the Personality Test! Deep down, you wish you were a stick figure. Posts: 1629 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |

It seems that if you forcecage some one and then leave combat mode, they can follow you around and attack you still, but are immune to your attacks. Also, it seems forcecage stops you from damaging the forcecaged person with the exception of casting wall of blades on some one next to them. -------------------- Take the Personality Test! I hate what Jeff did to Unlock Doors. My singleton magic user can hardly open anything even when I've given myself lvl 5 from the editor. So I wanted to make a plain scenario containing only warriors grove with the single addition of a crystal/tome/whatever with a special node that gives me lvl 75 or so Unlock Doors. Unfortuanately, scripting baffles me. While I plan on learning it eventually in order to make scenarios, for now it is not practical for me to learn the whole system just for this one simple thing. I'm sure it's not complicated, but I can't find anywhere in the Manual that specifically tells you how to script to add Mage spells. Can some one just post the scripting here or e-mail it to me? -------------------- Take the Personality Test! Deep down, you wish you were a stick figure. The healer is healing my people to all the same health, regardless of their individual maximum healths. The first time I used him he gave them all my fighter's health (which put the other three above maximum) the second time he gave them all my priest's health (which lowered the health of my fighter and archer). Strange, yes? -------------------- Take the Personality Test! Deep down, you wish you were a stick figure. Posts: 1629 | Registered: Wednesday, October 3 2001 07:00 |
