If we feel like it, we can just require that designers edit their registration posts to include a link to the preferred download location. In that way, the registration thread would become the database.

In the past, we've required that designers actually submit their scenarios to someone by the contest deadline, which is how we were able to put up those Olympia pages of entrants. We didn't do that this time.

Well, there's always Tyran's site.

what are the expectations for critical commentary

Scenarios in each category will be given a score from 1-10 based on quality, 1 being lowest and 10 being highest. The decision criteria is generally up to the individual judge so long as he/she is consistent where possible. The exception is that a judge cannot favor either BoE scenarios over BoA scenarios or vice versa, each must be judged on it's merits.
According to the official rules, in the first round, you give a number. That's it. In the final round, you discuss.

I was wondering about this, too. Probably mid-month-ish, I suspect, but I don't know.

Hence the line in the Exodus readme under beta testers: "Arrna, who loved producing script-killing and game-ending errors" :P

When was that deadline, again? November 30th, 2006.... at what time? 11:59:59 EST? More conveniently for me, 11:59:59 PST?

I'd really like to get in a little more work on Thursday night before I submit it to Spiderweb and send in a contest version.

Yep, in case anyone missed it, the moderatorial ruling is that the polls on the captions are too spammy to allow. The captions themselves are funny enough to justify themselves, but the polls are sort of pointless.

I see that Aran safely used alphabetical order. :P And Smoo might have something to say to that list.

I look forward to playing this, probably sometime next week.

As a side-note, didn't Isaac do only the Mac 3D Editor? I think Notus was responsible for the Windows version. That might factor into the attribution for that utility.

Oh! Oh! Idea! If you're already going to work on the code for BoA, you could do a small set of bug fixes, too. We've had bug topics ongoing for a while, and it wouldn't be too hard for us to cobble together an updated list for you.

Even if only a few things here and there could be fixed, it would be much appreciated.

I think your dictionary is working with a different set of long vowels and short vowels than Thuryl and I were referring to. I think your dictionary is talking about Latin longs and shorts, whereas we were referring to English longs and shorts. If that is the case, we're saying the same thing with different terminology.

I generally use characters from a story I wrote once. "Kelandon" actually comes from the same story, although the Kelandon character is little like me and is not the protagonist.

What does your dictionary give for the pronunciation, of, say, "anapest"?

I assumed that it was pronounced as if it were Spanish. I'm not sure if I'm wrong.

As far as I know, Americans normally pronounce remnant Latin ae and oe diphthongs as short E's except where they're actually spelled "ae," which is normally only at the end of a word, where they're pronounced as long A's — although I have heard some Americans doing a long E in word-final ae diphthongs, and I can only assume it's by influence from the English. Brits normally pronounce all ae and oe remnants as long E's (which is technically more correct, but sounds AWFUL).

I've always wondered how the American pronunciation came about, and I have to admit that I haven't the faintest idea.
