I am still a fully functional human male. More's the pity. I was aware of the possible double meanings of the topic's title before I posted it, but I figured that the phrasing I used was the simplest way of getting the point across. However, I realize now that my decision to use this title may have been a rather hazardous one. Figgiston, the attack ferret I bred especially for phenomenal intelligence, has been looking at my very oddly of late. I have a strange feeling that he's organized a secret ferret detective force to keep track of my movements. I've already run into twelve ferrets sporting monocles and business suits in my room today.

But those are two fine plans, chaps. I have enough attack ferrets to carry out both at the same time, but they may need to be fleshed out a bit more. For example, BtI's plan may work out just fine as is, but I'm not taking any risks of failure here. To ensure that the officials buy my claim of the rabbit infestation, I'll need to plant a few dead rabbits around the dorm building. Anyone have any lying around? Donate them for a good cause!

As for Slith's plan, it shall be implemented as soon as possible. I'll select forty of my most ravenous ones, just for the job.

Mammoths are about as large as you can get in terms of furries, Alorael. A fine goal for any true connosieur of furries. Although in my post I was hinting more at wolves.

Well, hey LF, wasn't it you who told me, not too long ago, to not take this board so seriously? To not take the internet so seriously? To not take myself so seriously? To not take life so seriously? I must congratulate you on most faithfully practicing what you preach.

But this flame will stop right here. If you are really leaving, I'll let you walk out peacefully, with as much dignity as you can muster, not slam you down and make you crawl, as you so richly deserve. But if you are truly leaving, Happy Trails.

They also have an extraordinarily poor guitarist. He's somewhat cancelled out by Flea's excellence, but replacing him with someone competent would highly improve the band. Also, although they are good at turning out hit songs, their album filler material is usually pretty poor. Every time I listen to the "Californication" album, I marvel at how it could have received such rave reviews when only about a fourth of the songs are any good at all.

And I'm currenly listening to "Air" by Ben Folds Five.

I distinctly remember mentioning Red Hot Chili Peppers earlier in this discussion. Good band. I'm not so fond of all of their stuff, but I appreciate their longevity, so uncommon in rock bands nowadays.

Now, Ironweed, look what you've done.

This is just a lighthearted, meaningless discussion, and it's fun in its own way. You've obviously never been on Desp., and I can see why. Don't malign people for not living up to archaic standards of provinciality. Sexuality is an integral part of life, and there is no crime in having a bit of fun talking about it. If you feel uncomfortable, avoid discussions such as these.

Well, in my previous post I wasn't really suggesting that a ferret could be a substance. Pets are against dormitory rules campus-wide, but the officials in my dorm are just more zealous about enforcing rules of any kind than those in other dorms.

However, Thuryl is right. An attack ferret can render you just as dead as an overdose of cocaine or heroin can. The difference is that death by ferret is significantly slower, more painful, and more bloody.

EDIT: Although I'm not sure it's possible to obtain any semblance of a high through interactions with ferrets. An emotional high, perhaps, but that's all. I don't consider feelings of extreme physical pain to be highs, but perhaps others do.

The dorm that I live in is a substance-free dorm (one of just a few on campus) and as such is far more carefully policed than most of the other dorms. As such, the RA's in my dorm seem to have been especially singled out for manic lawgiving tendencies and predatory voraciousness. Although ferrets are naturally quiet animals, they are also highly curious and require regular exercise and nurturing care. I couldn't just lock them up in my closet and open it once a day to feed and water them . If I kept them in a cage in my room, it would most certainly draw the attention of prowling RA's. And if I just let them run around freely in the room, a multitude of problems would result.

1. I would be unable to ever safely open or close my door.
2. My roommate would lose his patience and murder me.
3. The RA's would find me, find the ferrets, and then kick my broken body out of the dorms, for good.

Urgh, how I wish they weren't outlawed in the dorms....

And why would it be impossible for me to be bored? I'm bored the majority of my time at college. People tell me I ought to actually do work here, but it's so tiresome to do so. I'd rather just not do anything and witness the degradation of my mind, and my GPA.

There are many good people around here that have very strong opinions on political issues. Their responses to your suggestions may have sounded a bit intense to you, but I can assure you that no one has anything personal against you. Flaming someone simply for their opinions, however extreme they may be, is wrong. Heck, flaming anyone for anything at all is probably wrong, but who does the right thing all the time? . Well, I've learned my lesson, I will keep my tongue in check from now. This topic should probably be closed.

Sorry to send this off topic again, but I think that STD is right about me. I've made it quite clear that I mean not to harass and provoke him any more. I hardly needed another warning . But still, I'll make doubly sure not to break the rule again.

And Jame, I explained that post earlier in the topic. I didn't really mean it, and I also doubt that you would be banned if banning by public opinion existed. The only thing you're guilty of is extremely aberrant political views .

The only reason for my occasionally erratic behavior is extreme boredom, which is a fact of life (for me at least) at college.

I don't believe I come off as an ass around here. In fact, I'm hardly ever intentionally mean to anyone. I certainly never flame unless I am convinced that the target deserves it. And I'm not an unreasoning bastard. Witness how I've appreciated STD's progress, even encouraged him to keep it up. There's not a whole lot I have against even you, LF, except that you tend to whine, as previously mentioned, as well as persistently put your nose where it certainly does not belong.

You could, but ferrets are so much better for that kind of thing.

I am also somewhat of an escapist, which explains my love for both fantasy and mystery novels, neither of which often have much reality to them. In addition, I'm a sucker for nearly anything that seems psychological, which is probably the reason for my gobbling up of novels like And Then There Were None and A Separate Peace. As I know next to nothing about real psychology, I also tend to go for works espousing junk psychology, as it's often a good deal more attractive than the real thing. My love for works which delve into the human mind and soul probably stems from my general inability to get into the minds of others, or even discern the effects of my actions on them. As I am well aware of this weakness, I often idolize those who possess, or seem to possess, such abilities in quantity.

That's cool, David. It is rather an odd song, and doesn't appeal to everyone. It was vastly surpassed in popularity by a whole slew of, in my opinion, inferior songs. But yeah, Eleanor Rigby and Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds are both very good songs. Lucy is on my Top 20 list, I believe. Ah, it's number 15. Have you listened to She Said She Said or In My Life? Those are two fine songs, which were both quite popular as well.

It's difficult for me to make other recommendations, as I've enjoyed pretty much everything I've listened to by them. Just try stuff out, little by little. I guarantee you'll find a lot to like.

THE FERRETS DO NOT APPRECIATE YOU CALLING THEIR MASTER AN IDIOT

And LF, you usually get flamed because of your tendency to whine without end over the most trivial of issues. When someone simply complains, without offering any alternatives or suggestions for improvement (e.g. Mercenary), they will be flamed, simply because their whining is purposeless and serves only to incite other members. Debate? Most of the ferrets I've met know more about proper debating than you do.

Also, I was speaking somewhat in jest when I said that I believe members should be banned based on public opinion. You seem to have failed to notice my last comment, that this system would be the most efficient. I do not actually believe that the system would be the best, or that it could even be implemented.

Ack, I shouldn't have even needed to explain all that. I love having you around, LF.

SMoE, if you had actually taken the time to read my post, you would have seen that I do indeed appreciate STD's progress. For him to redeem himself, however, he must prove to all of us that he can keep up this progress over a stretch of time. Once he has done so, you'll hear not so much as the slightest allusion to his past from me.

EDIT: And, if you think about it, it's much the same as your situation a few months ago, although your transgressions were far more serious than STD's. You still managed to live them down, though, and nowadays you only face a reference to your crimes once in a while. STD can certainly accomplish what you accomplished, and probably in a much shorter time. Two or three weeks of good behavior will be enough for me to put Bates away, for good. After this point, Bates would only be resurrected in an extreme situation.

EDIT 2: And I edited while you were posting, SMoE. Sorry about the misunderstanding.

You have reformed your behavior significantly, and it's good to see that you are trying to improve your command of English. I understand that it's hard. However, you still have quite a bit of work to do to amend your reputation around here. I will refrain from calling you anything other than your chosen name from now on, unless I think you are truly in need of a warning. As for Morgan and others, perhaps they should stop calling you Bates. But, when you think about it, that's their choice, not yours or mine. They have their reasons for doing what they do. However, I believe that if you stay in line for a significant amount of time and show the improvement which I believe you are quite capable of, the insults will eventually cease entirely.
