RC: All of which you have said is entirely reasonable in your theology and with your Bible. Which is why both are reprehensible and repugnant. Fundamentalist Christianity is a plague on the earth and a thorn in the side of human progress. Its only effect on humanity is more hate and more destruction.

Mind you, Catholicism is not much better, nor is Islam, nor is even Judaism. All are tainted by their history of terrible slaughter and oppression. However, at least their adherents are making some efforts to shed the folly of the past. Fundamentalists, on the other hand, would turn back the clock to an age where man lived by brute force and butchery.

The Bible does ban homosexuality. It was written, by and large, by archaic small-minded men in a time when it was still in vogue to keep multiple wives and slaves, usually in tandem. Thus, there's no reason any sane person should pay any more heed to it than to the Koran or Greek mythology.

Alexander: How about Exodus, which mostly involves the Israelites killing everyone they lay their hands on? How about the entire concept of a "chosen race" -- remember, the Hebrews came up with that before Hitler ever did. How about smiting Onan for pulling out? How about the THOUSANDS of people killed simply for not believing in YHWH? Jehu! Jehu.

Sodom and Gomorrah, even. "The LORD your God is a jealous god." The Bible consistently paints a picture of a small-minded, patriarchal religion lorded over by small-minded patriarchs with a bloodlust. Nearly all Abrahamic religions have inherited this legacy.

I determined that the Judeo-Christian religions were, in theory and practice, regressive patriarchal garbage many years ago. This doesn't mean that all Christians are regressive patriarchs, but the book on which they base their theology is a filthy, base one full of racism, sexism, homophobia, and xenophobia.
The only good Christians are those with the courage and the intellect to rise above the dogma of an infallible Scripture.

I haven't seen the film, so I'll withhold judgement. I'm not a fan of Moore's (he's a terrible representation of liberalism when compared to Chomsky and other left intellectuals), but Chris Hitchens is no less tendentious.
Like Moore, he makes good points - such as his treatment of Mother Teresa in "The Missionary Position." He's still in general a neoconservative hack.

B12 isn't only found in meat, anyway, and only small amounts are necessary for health; even consuming a token amount of lacto or ovo will be enough. In any case, non-animal sources of B12 have been isolated for the benefit of vegans.

I'm lacto-ovo, so I don't worry about it. The moderate amount of cheese and egg I end up consuming more than makes up for the lack of meat.

Actually, studies show that the only nutrient lacking in the average vegetarian's diet is iron. I eat lots of beans, though, so it all evens out.

How about a game about some people who got thrown down into a cavernous dungeon by an ominous empire and then they find their way out and onto the surface? Then you could have a sequel about a war between the empire and the exiled cave-dwellers!

Single accounts are for wussies.

Unix uses the linefeed character for a new line. Pre-X MacOS used the carriage return. Windows uses carriage return + linefeed.

I use vim for all my text-editing needs.

If H*R was 5,000 times as funny as it is now, it still wouldn't be half as funny as Wigu, or Diesel Sweeties, or even Penny Arcade. If it was 10 million times as funny, it would still languish in comparison to Leisuretown and Jerkcity. It's a piece of dump, to put it succinctly.

In fact, H*R/Newgrounds/etc. suck so bad that I purposely removed Flash so I'd never have to see them.

ADOM is a piece of crap and I hope the guy who made it burns in an eternity of hells.

Nethack, on the other hand, does have sufficient roleplaying elements to pass for an RPG. Specifically, the whole piety issue and the alignments (Lawful/Neutral/Chaotic).
