Why? The viewpoint "What I am is perfect, and everyone different is flawed" seems mighty similar to Nazism to me.
I wouldn't be surprised if Creator took the comparison as a compliment.
It doesn't matter. I'm out of this thread anyway.

Because you can't pronounce LRTDM. Looks like KMFDM.

Face it, folks: Thuryl is about ten times cooler than you. The icy hand of death cannot stop him.

And, come on. Lucien Rafael Tihon Damian McMahon is just bad-ass. Yes, I'm high.

Nethack, on the other hand, does have sufficient roleplaying elements to pass for an RPG. Specifically, the whole piety issue and the alignments (Lawful/Neutral/Chaotic).

Umm, what are you talking about? ADOM has alignments and piety more than Nethack. And in ADOM, unlike Nethack, your actions have an actual effect on your alignment in a normal game. In Nethack a lawful character can lie, murder and steal, and any effect of this is negligible.

And ADOM's piety does a lot more than Nethack's prayer timeout and god anger.

Nethack and ADOM are both great games, but ADOM is much more RPG-like (although still not very)

I didn't say ADOM wasn't RPG-like; it is more so than Nethack. It just sucks.

T Alec as should be obvious, I am an Asimov fanboy, and the movie looks like utter crap. I bet they're going to make the robots evil.

The best thing about Asimov is that you often get the impression that he thinks things would be better if the robots were in charge. Such as the ending of "Foundation's Edge."

Seuss introduced absurdism into children's literature. His imitators are legion, and none of them toe the line he did between staid and vulgar, boring and incomprehensible.

Good books? in General

When I read Goodkind's books, all I could think was "this guy must pleasure himself whilst reading Ayn Rand." They're really disturbing, actually. But sometimes entertaining.

The best thing is that Darken Rahl was obviously intended to be Hitler. With the vegetarianism and all. And the Sword of Truth was more or less the One Ring, except with more bondage-chick slaying power.

As the series progressed, it got only more and more pornographic. I mean, that wind shrine one, they could not stop with the sexing in that one.

The majority of SWers are, like most online gaming forums, either youth under 20 or so or freaky old women. With the exception of Saunders, who is freaky, but not old.

That's a faulty comparison. Being white is not a philosophy or religion, it is a state. It doesn't suggest any philosophy, whereas being a fundamentalist Christian does.

A correct version would say that since Hitler killed so many people, Nazism is a scourge. Which it is.

The point I'm making is that your God is a bloody-minded, petty god, and if he exists, I'm not having any part of the worship of such an evil entity.

Ask Matthew Shepherd what harm fundamentalism has caused. Ask the 12,000 innocents dead in Afghanistan and the thousands in Iraq. Ask the Jews of Europe -- and, for that matter, the Arabs of Palestine. Ask the innocents of the Children's Crusade and those slaughtered by the Seljuk Turks.

Fundamentalism in all religion is a scourge. An ergot of humanity.

I have no problem with Christians. I have a problem with their religion which is, as I have stated, generally an insidious and terrible force. This is true of the other Abrahamic religions as well. Most other religions are as bad, truthfully.

The last Christian worth listening to was Jesus. The apostles, Paul, etc. were all venal little men.
