My camera demands batteries, and couldn't be persuaded to take my picture. Until I fix that situation, here's a collection of the ones that didn't break the camera (or at least only slightly cracked it).

Does it refer to the cultist or the heavy-metal song about the cultist?

In any case, something I just read on Wikipedia struck me as fishy about Crowley's story.

quote:
(Wikipedia)
The Book of the Law is the central sacred text of Thelema, written (or received) by Aleister Crowley in Cairo, Egypt in the year 1904. [...] Crowley noted, not without surprise, that Liber Legis was somewhat similiar to the alleged Necronomicon, which he said to have read a few years later.
---------------------
The Necronomicon was first mentioned in Lovecraft's 1924 short story "The Hound", written in 1922, though its purported author, the "mad Arab" Abdul Alhazred, had been quoted a year earlier in Lovecraft's "The Nameless City".

So either the name "Necronomicon" was invented before Lovecraft used it, or Crowley lied through his teeth (about the time frame, not about reading the book itself - that's fictional anyway), or "twenty years" are somehow "a few". Anyway.

And now back to the topic. I've been bombarded with ads about something called "Adventure Quest" which is supposedly like Runescape (but using Flash, not Java), and when I need to kill a few braincells I sometimes play Well of Souls.

Twenty people marching through different corners of the howling emptiness that is Valorim? Or if the virtual world is expanded, the other continents of Ermarian? Having to wait for a player on the other end of the continent to make their move is bad no matter how many people you have to wait for.

So when it comes to multi-player games, I'd take real-time over turns.

Given that the mentioned character "stops", it might be an NPC travelling with you. The closest match is "Shanti".

Long shot, but you know how some people spell.

In the golden age of RWG (then still GC), someone posted their Spanish homework because this was their only means of file transfer from the school computer.

I am wondering what mail provider he was using, but for some reason it was blocked by the school while this forum was not.

No way is that representative of me; it's far too... angular. Rectangles. I demand a rounder symbol/thingie! And one that isn't grey/brown.

...

:P

I have to say that Marlenny's is the only one that looks sort of spot-on.

In my experience the movie based on the book always kills the plot. So it is better to watch the movie first, then to read the book to have the necessary explanations.
If the movie kills the plot, shouldn't it be the other way around? Read the book first to enjoy the plot, then see the movie (and thus avoid having the good plot spoilt by a bad one)...
