I should have made that gullibility link point to a certain Youtube video instead of drupal.org... Never gonna give you up...

Drupal already has a gullibility detector module. Perhaps UBB.Threads has one too? I don't know.

These are, as I've said, good news. But Excalibur, why did you link to the CoC in that first post? I don't see anything there, and that's after running the manual refresh on my mirror...

May this transfer be blessed by the patron saints of BBS: May the transition be seamless, the downtime minimal, the user accounts preserved with all their posts. Amen.

PPP? Well, depending on what happens, it will either begin mirroring the new forum without missing a beat (if everything is transferred without a hitch) or it will be closed forever as the UBB archive, leaving a new site to take up the job once the new board has to be pruned (which it will unless Jeff gets a new server too...). If the content doesn't get carried over, mingling the forums together in the archive would be untidy.

Unfortunately, this is beyond my ability to fix. Drupal 6 has better form handling, but (see above) it will be quite a while before the Blades Forge is ready to be upgraded.

I could place the comment form on a different page, but that would require an extra page load whenever you want to post - not worth the slight chance of being logged out in the mean time, I think. If the form page has been open for a long time, you should reload to make sure the form is still available - normally sessions don't expire that quickly.

I've noticed that smiling at random people on the street helps a lot. I don't know if it helps them, but I end up being happier. :)

(There, did it again.)

Wow. They use a high-dimensional possibility space where choices are communicated between users.

That's an extremely interesting concept, and I think it can be applied to a lot of problems involving large amounts of data - web search, say.

Oh, right. It makes nice trees, too. :P

Yes, UBB is a wreck. It has been one for close on five or six years. But it hasn't sunk, and I don't put high odds on it doing so in the future. All catastrophic failures have been diligently repaired.

Steps have been taken to ensure that if the board were to suffer permanent breakdown, its content would still be available. (And the forum blueprints that Dikiyoba mentioned in her script are only marginally fictional.)

With that in place, we don't need to worry about cutting it close. Short of a breakdown, there is nothing that would force us to change the system, and nothing speaks against waiting until the breakdown actually comes.

I've managed to create a few semi-beautiful things with it, but it's difficult.

If you then google around and find what other people have done with it, you're in for some depression. =/

There are lots of Terragen splash screens on the Blades forge, by the way.
