He will have cashed these cheques a few years ago, starting last Thursday. :P

Endeavorbot has no problems with you - #5 was and is. The only anomaly is that you appear to have posted -943 times between May and June 2005. Saunders with #21 is a lot worse off. ;)

Unfortunately, both of you have caused a few hickups for poor Piperbot, who can't deal with posts written by "Unregistered". I literally have dozens of ancient PPP1+2 topics that are awaiting a parser update (Valley of Thunder is one of them).

I don't much like Invision Power Board (I did, once, but that was before I learned enough PHP to care about the underlying code as well as the interface).

Then again, it's much better and cheaper than UBB.

Then again, the reason Jeff gave for UBB is not that it is better, but that it is the only clean way of importing posts. Frankly, I'm not sure IPB offers any post import plugins. In Jeff's place I certainly wouldn't hire (*cough*) some MySQL wizard just to transfer those posts to the IPB database schema.

Jewels: Thanks for the heads-up. The list page was indeed badly sorted; the member numbers should be in order now.

Unless you're using XHTML 2 and the still not final Javascript 3 implementation, I find the "not yet" part hard to believe. Are you sure that what you're using is not a proprietary extension that will never make it outside IE?

Edit: And now all my accounts have a non-zero post count. Can you list them? There are seven.

If an account exists, it will be recorded in the Endeavor database on the first 17th after it was created.

Woo, pretty.

It's a pity that most of the social toys/features (photos, shoutbox, events calendar) will probably be left off here to conserve resources.

Edit: Also, I forgot about the Endeavor.

Simple thing - if member numbers are conserved in spite of deletions, it will continue as it is now. If they're reset, I'm afraid the Endeavor will have to be shut down entirely while I think of a way to support the old and the new data.

This is very good to hear.

Since the content will be transferred, I'll try to make my archive transition seamlessly to archiving the new board. I'm skeptic of UBB, but admittedly it's the easiest upgrade path.

(I just hope that the "Threads" in its name does not indicate we get threaded views instead of the flat views we have now. Those really are an abomination if you want to read a thread from start to finish, and they encourage derailing the topic instead of bringing it back on track.)

I do play female characters in ADOM quite often. I rather avoid that in MMORPGs though, because of the negative stigma.

The stigma against online women who are actually men, that is, not against female characters.

He gave up?!

That means... the prophecy might still be fulfilled! I said that Eye of the Storm would take longer to make than RiB, and all this time it seemed that it could never get done because neither did RiB. If Drakey gave up on RiB, then I guess Eye of the Storm may yet get done, and still outlive it! :P

Meh. In ADOM, even good loot can be wiped out by a well-placed fireball, so I rather avoid that.

But I do fireball any abandoned stores I come across. Damn mimics. :P

What you're missing is that nuclear bombs come in different sizes.

I rather think that no bomb has been built yet that could destroy humanity in one go, and not sure if we can build one.

This point becomes moot though, because plenty of small ones will do the job just fine.

It's Tolkien isn't it.
