I have an inspiration. And for it to work I need some of the old spidweb fogies to help me out with it. How about...now get this...an Exile Rpg...huh? huh?
Ya see, we have a party and we go through the game.(Exile II of course). But to do this I seriously need the help of those who know the game far better then me. To be honest it's been a while since I played it. And, for a fact, I never finished it. Which is rather sad, I know that. but I've never finished a spidweb game. Sigh...
Well, could some of you people help me? I'm talking to like. Drakey, Saunders, Aloreal, and all those others who know what their about. There is, of course, a limit to the number of people in a party so there may be another team doing the same thing as us. Who's with me? Limitations would be the same as the game. And no, you can't use the cheat with that gives you unlimited points...ha:D
If I have people willing to help me then this sounds as if it'll go fairly well. And I don't think images will be limited to those in the game. You can have your own character description. And now that I think about it there should probably be little restriction on skills and what not. People get fed up with "leveling" and hey, this isn't D&D now is it:P free play is my type. So. yah, who can help me out?

I shudder to think numbers might be involved in such an RP. Can't we get rid of the points/skills/levels entirely? They have no purpose when writing a story anyway, and when you can't exactly "win", then what good does it do to throw all those freaky dice damage scores around? They're only an excuse for people to write badly...

Edit: Besides, it's technically impossible to use dice at all, without establishing a Game Master who decides on everything. And then where's the fun?

And this is a reason to revive a month-old topic in what way?

Besides, what does "uncoe" mean? I never heard that particular term...

NO! I'm still a newbie! Ask anyone!

Oh, yeah, isn't an apostrophe used after year number in cases such as "During the 1960's...," or am I wrong?

I did not say you weren't. I said the pretentiousness won't go away with the newbiehood. Didn't for me. Ask anyone.

Edit: Ouch. Quotes make it easy to double post.

It is a generally accepted estimate that 90% of all fan-fiction sucks. That is not to say that there isn't good writing amongst it, but... fair warning.

Ellipses (s. Ellipsis are three dots (or complete sentences) separating sentence fragments... or sentences. Actually I think it's the same word in German. They're used when shortening quotes, or when indicating a pause in speech. When writing online, it is easy to use them excessively because some tend to think in spoken words rather than written text while posting.

I participated in NaNoWriMo in 2004 (and in 2003 also, but I gave up). The goal is to write a 50,000 word novel within November, in 30 days.

I wrote that much, but it's not finished and pretty much crap. Still, I plan on editing it. The parts I thought were readable are published at http://shadowsrising.blogspot.com

But don't say I didn't warn you.

*chokes*

It wasn't exactly... 'complete'. More like 'expired on the floor'. A bit sad, and perhaps the reason why we haven't had a successful RP since.

The last I recall was "To Slay a Dragon", which went a similar way.

What annoys me is that a lot of those grammar mistakes are *not* made by second language speaker, but intentionally, to look cool. No matter what the mother tongue is, it is inexcusable 2 use numbers 4 words. And those ellipses... they really bother the hell out of me... don't you think?

Careful. If you make nonsense posts to bring up your title, you get canned, cutting short any such ambitions.

That said, rp topics made for raising post counts generally suck, as do any other topics with that purpose.

But please, no Vahnatai.

If he tries doing surface vs. cave and Vahnatai as secret villains again, I will *so* not buy the game.

Okay, so I probably will, but still I'd be very disappointed.

Empathy is not a rational thought but an emotion however, and it is near impossible empathize without visualizing - either by seeing or by imagining it. The latter applies more often than might be thought.

Which does make them a lot quicker. The Vahnatai fighting style usually goes for speed and dexterity rather than physical strength and endurance, I recall. If you do manage to hit one of them square, and they haven't got armor or magical shields on them, they're pretty much meat.

You can't open a board to the general public before you have a solidly established "core" group that new members can latch on to. What do you expect to happen? That a new community spontaneously congeals from the big space that is Spiderweb and comes over to your forum to populate it? Not going to happen. The community has to be there, and though it be only 3-4 members. You yourself aren't enough.

Of course, some claim to have had tremendous success with multiple accounts. But a) you will slip up very soon and it's very embarassing and b) how sad is that?
