Saved games might be loadable across registered/nonregistered games, but only act weirdly if you had gone beyond the barrier... wait, I'll try that with a fresh install.

Edit: Yep, you get stuck in a black void. You can safe and reload without breaking the game though - when you load it with the registered program, it's back to normal.

Also, if you have registered the game on one system, you should be able to get another key from Jeff to run it on the other. Buy it once, you get a lifetime license for any computer you want to install it on. Spiderweb isn't Sony BMG, see. :)

When you look at all the successful politicians in the world today (and, personal issues aside, someone who is an unethical dork and still manages to get himself re-elected would count as successful), you know they lie through their teeth all the time. The trick, apparently, is to do it in such a way that everybody knows, but nobody cares enough to do anything about it.

Never Debian, but my father installed a SUSE machine to work as a fileserver at one point, and I've briefly used it.

But now that you mention it, I've used a "Knoppix" OS (bootable from disk) for almost a month when my computer, formerly running NT, crapped itself. And I just found out that Knoppix is based on Debian, so it would appear I've actually used that distribution (or something based on it) most.

You can have Windows programs without the crappy OS without buying a Mac. Get Linux. :P

Edit: (And an emulator, but those are easy to acquire and, most importantly, free.)

These questions have been answered before, but I thought I'd clear it up a bit more:

1. I'm not sure of the location of the original Xian Skull - it need not have been in Misc to be gone. Before PPP1, there were other purges, less openly announced (and less reacted to). These affected many forums, not just General and Misc. The threads deleted were also not archived anywhere.

2. The PPP1 announcement was deleted in the second board purge and archived in PPP2.
The PPP2 announcement was deleted by Stareye before I managed to save it in time for PPP3.
The PPP3 announcement still exists, being just a week old.

If you mean "topics archived in PPP1" rather than "the topic announcing PPP1", then I recently put up the PPP1&2 archive of General as a zip file. (To prevent confusion: PPP1 only concerns General, but PPP2 concerned almost all boards - the part of PPP2 available here is only the General part).

3. PPP3 is done. :)
