Saved games might be loadable across registered/nonregistered games, but only act weirdly if you had gone beyond the barrier... wait, I'll try that with a fresh install. Edit: Yep, you get stuck in a black void. You can safe and reload without breaking the game though - when you load it with the registered program, it's back to normal. Also, if you have registered the game on one system, you should be able to get another key from Jeff to run it on the other. Buy it once, you get a lifetime license for any computer you want to install it on. Spiderweb isn't Sony BMG, see. :) -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. quote:I noticed that this time the Geneforge topics were moved from the original boards to the new one (check forums 10 and 16). Four, actually. Tricksy things, these topics, you start them and then you forget all about them, huh? :) (that's assuming 4784 - Gizmo - is you) Edit: Only General topics displayed - 16 topics in total. When you look at all the successful politicians in the world today (and, personal issues aside, someone who is an unethical dork and still manages to get himself re-elected would count as successful), you know they lie through their teeth all the time. The trick, apparently, is to do it in such a way that everybody knows, but nobody cares enough to do anything about it. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. Interestingly enough, Drakefyre's topic count is only 28 (including PPP1, but not PPP2, which isn't yet indexed), and Alorael has a meagre 12! Is post count inversely related to topic count? o_O Edit: The first of them, as one might wonder from the title, isn't actually Alo's. He's just the first non-deleted poster, and I failed to take that possibility into account in the program. Sorry for the triple post, but I'm making another announcement so it wouldn't hurt to bump the thread. PPP3 is now completely available for offline viewing at leisure, in zip format. This download is almost 75 MB. The index pages of the forums, used to determine what threads to download, are here. This is about 2 MB. Well, a lot of them are in RWG, of course. Also, some of them are duplicates. Quite a lot, actually. Never Debian, but my father installed a SUSE machine to work as a fileserver at one point, and I've briefly used it. But now that you mention it, I've used a "Knoppix" OS (bootable from disk) for almost a month when my computer, formerly running NT, crapped itself. And I just found out that Knoppix is based on Debian, so it would appear I've actually used that distribution (or something based on it) most. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. You can have Windows programs without the crappy OS without buying a Mac. Get Linux. :P Edit: (And an emulator, but those are easy to acquire and, most importantly, free.) 'twas but a test, your honor. :) -- Also, UBB is not a program. It is more of a state of mind. That's probably subconscious suggestion. *points at moniker* quote:And striving he must err... in my defence, you also underestimated your topic count. :P Also, this only counts the PPP3 stuff that's currently still on the boards - I've started more that are in PPP1&2. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. quote:They might be at some point - what forum are they in? I think I've got pretty much all of General and BoE. quote:These questions have been answered before, but I thought I'd clear it up a bit more: 1. I'm not sure of the location of the original Xian Skull - it need not have been in Misc to be gone. Before PPP1, there were other purges, less openly announced (and less reacted to). These affected many forums, not just General and Misc. The threads deleted were also not archived anywhere. 2. The PPP1 announcement was deleted in the second board purge and archived in PPP2. The PPP2 announcement was deleted by Stareye before I managed to save it in time for PPP3. The PPP3 announcement still exists, being just a week old. If you mean "topics archived in PPP1" rather than "the topic announcing PPP1", then I recently put up the PPP1&2 archive of General as a zip file. (To prevent confusion: PPP1 only concerns General, but PPP2 concerned almost all boards - the part of PPP2 available here is only the General part). 3. PPP3 is done. :) [ Wednesday, January 11, 2006 01:16: Message edited by: OMGAlorael ] -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast.
