There are bound to be some here: http://stuff.ermarian.net/arancaytar/images/ I'll see if I can post a few here later. Edit: I'm going to take a few new pictures when I get hold of a camera again. Meanwhile, you'll have to live with my 17-year-old "baby cuteness" (not my words) of a bit under a year ago. :P [ Monday, February 06, 2006 03:50: Message edited by: Arancaytar the Grey ] -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. Try this. I don't play city building games that much now (or any game, really), but I guess I'll try the Caesar IV demo. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. Goodbye, sorry to see you go Edward. I hope you come back soo-- whoops, mixed up the time again. Gah, I feel humorous today. If you feel "harassed, belittled or humiliated" by it, be assured that was not my intention and I apologize. On that note, the standard Spiderweb return greeting: "Hi Edward... mh... I don't think I know you but welcome back anyway. :) " And since you never appear to have gotten the original greeting in the first place: "Welcome to Spiderweb General. Leave your sanity at the door." -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. I thought you were Alec. Then I was so sure you were BtI, because BtI has "Belisarius" as a title on Desp. Now you post a picture of General Custer, which once again makes me think you're Alec. Caesar III was my favorite game for about 3 years (right next to Age of Empires II and The Settlers II) until I got Zeus and Poseidon. C3 is an awesome game, but keeping the infrastructure from total collapse is a bit frustrating once your city grows to around 10,000 and over. You'll spend more of your time fixing infrastructural problems and instabilities than actually building your city. Zeus has a huge improvement with the "road block" that allows you far more control about where random people walk - no more firefighters exploring the edges of the map before walking through your city. Another change was the houses "merging" - Caesar III has this annoying way of arranging your house blocks in such a way as to leave most of the houses "stuck" as 1x1 squares and prevented from developing further, even though the city block could actually consist entirely of 2x2 squares. In Zeus, the houses have a fixed size and never merge. I've easily maintained cities between 8,000 and 10,000 in Zeus and that was about as frustrating as maintaining a population of 3,000-4,000 in Caesar III. Oh, and if the third poll option isn't making any sense anyway, why did you include it? -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. Welcome back, Cmd. Edward. Storing anything upward of 100 MB online is a bad idea unless you really need to make it publically available. Using paid webspace as file storage when there is any alternative is a waste of money - online space is far more expensive than local space, as a rule. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. If you don't mind spending some time, you could zip them, then use a "file chopping tool" to break them up into chunks of 10 MB each, then feed them into a Google mail account... -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. I remember that I first surfed on Spiderweb's site early in 2001, because that's when I found Blades of Exile and the Avernum series. I found Exile III on a shareware CD of a German computer magazine named c't; it was probably in 2000 because I had no problems with English then, and I only really learned English late in 1999. I suppose I could pinpoint the exact date by looking through the magazine's archive (which they keep online, apparently) and finding the issue with that CD, but I can't be bothered right now. I need to catch a train, see.
