As typos go, it was awesome though. And I guess that while it is not what you were referring to, you would probably object to the "undressing her with the guys" bit as much as or more than the "undressing her with his eyes". :P -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. The image loads fine, but quite slow. I've got a T1 connection with usually between 200 KB - 500 KB per second, and anyone with a slower connection will wait even longer. The picture is about 550 KB, which most sources agree is far too large for an online picture. Out of interest, I tried converting it to a jpeg with Photoshop, and got it down to about 56 KB, or one tenth. My eyes aren't very good, but I don't see a quality decrease at the normal zoom level; the "shrunk" picture is here. :) -- In other news, I have taken a PHP course this week and will probably re-vamp the PPP archive/Endeavor pages when I get time this weekend. The navigation could be a lot better. Also, I've been thinking about a scenario database that could be updated by the designers themselves, which could make it far easier both for designers to notify the community about new versions and for players to find scenarios without hunting all over the place. Nothing solid in the works though, only brainstorming. After all, the last such project was... underwhelming. :P [ Thursday, March 09, 2006 15:03: Message edited by: When in the course of Nathan Ashby ] -------------------- Encyclopaedia • Archives • Members • RSS [Topic / Forum] • Blog • Polaris • NaNoWriMo Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair. For some reason, I thought you were going to talk about Jeff's Ouroboros reference in A3. Anyway, I'd ask for more context to this thread, but then this is general and also I like reading. I have nothing to do this evening, so I'll probably read this. :) -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. In another sense, it was me who started it this time, since I posted the first iGod chat this year in one topic (don't remember it). In yet another sense, it was JadeWolf, because he mentioned it in his "I'm Back" topic, thus reminding me... Spiderweb is to bandwagons and memes what a horde of monkeys is to bandwagons and memes. :P "Only YOU can prevent bandwagons!" -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. quote:Wait! If I had an AIM client and were to log in from here, AOL would ask me if I want to disconnect all the other connections! However, I'm not sure if the disconnect would cause Trillian to give up access to the logfile. It might just keep the chat open and wait to be reconnected, keeping the logfile locked all the time... Edit: The solution is to use not FTP, but HTTP. The difficult part is that I can only access the "htdocs" directory in the Apache folder directly; the rest of the hard drive is inaccessible. However, a PHP script can use the include() command to include a file that is outside the apache folder. To cut a long story short: quote:lol. quote:I have. I'd post the log, but it's at home, and in spite of me having installed an FTP server on my computer, I seemingly can't access that file from here. I can access all other files, but not the log. So you'll have to wait until I get home and upload it the old-fashioned way, I suppose. Edit: The reason being, apparently, that the program is still running and I am still loggin the chat right now. This seems to lock down the logfile even for read-only under Windows. Unfortunately, I have no way to close Trillian from here. Until Tyranicus uploads this to his site, my chatlog is here. I have some stuff at the beginning (mostly AA's bit) that nobody else has, but I got disconnected at some point for about half an hour, so you'll have to get that from someone else. -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. I managed to wake up almost exactly at the chat time. Creepy. Also, I have tried out Opera with voice control. It's very convincing, although I don't manage to make the computer do everything with voice commands yet. I need the mouse to help it along ever so often. ... Naturally, everything takes about twice as long to do with voice control, if you don't count the trouble with making the computer understand me. But heck if it isn't many times as cool as using just mouse and keyboard. Sci-fi! So can you use a computer at that time? Just because I have heard some people say you can't, but then I have no idea about Jewish laws, and even less about how they are applied to modern technology. Not so much "Bad" as "politically controversial". And disregarding the profanity and the insults hurled in absentio, what was being discussed there was controversial, even as a joke.
