The interface was a bit hard to manage, but that's the Exile series for you. I seriously loved the part where I got to the Test of Mind in the Vahnatai caverns. I had expected something along the lines of magic tests or intelligence checks, so I sent my wizard.

My surprise was very great when I saw that it was not my character's but my own thinking that was being put to the test.

Here's to "I WANT OUT OF THIS HELLHOLE RIGHT NOW".
Which is eleven, incidentally.

The Imban thing dates back to Summmer 2004. Back then, someone posted this weird dream he had about every member on the forum turning into Imban, and all topics being retitled "Imban", and then an extra forum titled "Imban" being set up, and all that. In a loose definition. There are people who would call anyone who wasn't around for the Ikonboard days (before 2001) a newbie, and then there are people who think one becomes an oldbie after a month or two.

As disturbed as I am by things getting deleted without warning, I am much more disturbed at what, in the long run, this will mean for Jeff's policy regarding General.

Bluntly, we've built a playground on his company's parking lot.

I hope I will not see the day he decides to evict us from said playground.

I joined the forums since A3 didn't work (trial version). Seeing the designing community in this and other places convinced me to register both Blades of Avernum and Blades of Exile.

Based on the comments from Mac users about Avernum 4, I have been predisposed against it prior to its Windows release, but I am ready to judge it on its own merits now that I have the demo.

You have reached phase three of Spiderweb newbiehood, I believe. The first two are annoyingness and then belligerence, the third is insecurity and a desire for forgiveness. I'm not sure at what point acceptance comes in, or how fast people reach it. Nobody yells at Zephyr, for example, even though I still wouldn't want to roleplay with him.

So in response, I'll wait and see. There are a lot who were very irritating when they came here, and some of them are still posting, even after almost three years. Of course, I can't exactly judge how annoying... they... might still be.
