If anyone does know a way in, that'd be interesting, but I'm not going to hold my breath. I daresay there's nothing there. To be honest, I would stick with Windows, as Linux is something of a time-sink. 1. It's a long time since I used wine (at which point it was pretty useless) so I'll leave others to answer this 2./3. Yes. The mainstream Linux distros include fully functional GUIs and media players. See linux.org for a list. -------------------- "Blink and you're dead... I think I know the area you mean; in the SE corner, underground, one zone south of the Basalt Fortress. I've never got in there, and Schrodinger's walkthrough doesn't mention it. I strongly suspect it is impossible to get in to (Jeff likes to leave a few teaser areas that are impossible to reach, like that room in Dharmon in A1). -------------------- "Blink and you're dead... We don't get many natural disasters in the UK, (unless you count the royal family). There was a bit of a hurricane 20 years ago and flash-flooding 2 years ago, but it's pretty safe here really. -------------------- "Blink and you're dead... <Sighs> I have spent too much time lately reading non-fiction books of the mathematical or applied mathematical variety. In my non-copious free time, I read a lot of Harlan Coben lately, and I am currently reading Against a Dark Background by Iain M Banks. -------------------- Geneforge 4 stuff. Assuming you mean the locked door in San Ru. Apart from the key Diwaniya has, there is also a key in the Ambush Pit (under the Gatherer Camp) to the west. It's on one of the dead bodies. -------------------- "Blink and you're dead... Don't turn your back, don't look away and don't blink." Geneforge 4 stuff. I think the third problem will be resolved by helping Moseh and then returning to Alwan in Rivergate Keep (who will give you the papers you require). -------------------- "I can't read this thread with that image. In fact government debt works pretty well. The government needs money to finance its activities; it borrows some of that money as opposed to taxing everyone to death. From an investor point of view, government debt is an essentially risk-free investment which forms the backbone of business finance. The real issue, as Kelandon has repeatedly said, is not the debt so much as the real-terms growth in the deficit. If the national debt goes up too much you may end up having to raise taxes just in order to keep up with the interest payments, and that ain't good politics. Edit: removed secondary issue that overcomplicates things. [ Saturday, June 09, 2007 23:56: Message edited by: Micawber ] -------------------- "I can't read this thread with that image. It has been mentioned (in the Geneforge forum if I remember correctly, I think this affects not just BoA but other games too) and Jeff has patched the installer. Of course this doesn't help those of us who have a CD already... As you said however it is still possible to install the game manually by exploring the CD. Edit: Another wrinkle, if you want to be able to read the Exile help files on Vista you have to manually download the old version of windows help from the MS website. As the quoted person, I would agree that it is rather silly to take that particular quote out of context. The irony is completely missed if you don't know it was addressed to Delicious Vlish in the Geneforge 4 forum... -------------------- "I can't read this thread with that image. I'd say it was more like 2/3 damage for most of the game, as better poles are often available before before better swords. I'm not sure 16% more armor is enough to compensate for 20%-30% less weapons damage. -------------------- "I can't read this thread with that image.
