It's been several years since I played A2. Can someone please remind what exactly the Ziggurat was? I have a vague recollection of it having something to do with the Empire, but then what didn't in A2.

I murdered the guard just outside of fort monastery after she refused to give me her steel spear. I got quite a bit of use out of that weapon, having so early and all.
