Oracles Wisdom costs their kindness Knowledge sickens their souls I watch from a distance how they Sit on dark thrones, incense smoke writhing, obscuring Mutter serene prophecies Rule gods and royalty, their fortresses, iron foundations shaken, cracked The gospel rewritten, the castles in the air toppled No laws of science or government move them and their words We do not hear the whispers passing their lips Yet the crude, unstable towers of rumour and half-caught tales Write our doctrines, build our history, crown our kings Soak our men in blood Millions have died for these spirit's whispers Still blades are bloodied by indecipherable rhymes Still tears are shed by those who have lost to an unproven phrase And everything ashes to nothing The untouchables, the unspoken to Corpses litter the ground at at their feet Oracles mutter on Aha. Girly poem. All the teenagers must write bad free verse. And cut themselves. ALSO! Because the archaic seems to be in fashion, here's something else. I've written a couple plays in rhyme - this is the beginning of my third: I had my lute and my poetry I told of divided dominions, fairy creed A hundred blades wiped clean on bloodied snow A traveler with many leagues to go How many dead tales have the troubadours told? In the shining courts of emperors old Of spell-woven swords and sorcerer queens Of hooded strangers robed in green Where are our metered songs now sung? How many new stories have us spiders spun? We are abandoned to a nowhere fate As kings concern themselves with politics in other states Now they look to the future, not the past Our legends, like fine roses, couldn?t last No haven for what was once a royal troubadour Save inns for the plaguèd, ale-blind poor Many better storytellers than I drink And are content to no longer tell tales or think In dreams but spend days with a poorer company Of fools and ne?er do-wells and petty thieves. I once killed some hick town in E3, Bolton, I think it was. It's because of that bug where the red-robed priest attacks you, and it was only Day 4 or something, so it was a tough fight. And the guards just sat on their arses while this guy shot Fireballs at my party. So I nursed my wounds, and got very very powerful, and came backabout a year later, seeking bloody reveeenge... The reason why I can't do this very often is because it makes me feel awful to hit 37+18 damage on the little children who aren't even armed. But there weren't any children in Bolton, so that was okay. Anyway. -------------------- Aces off. Posts: 611 | Registered: Friday, January 3 2003 08:00 |

Don't worry. Count the number of people who have custom titles on here. Then look at the number of members on here. The useful ones are the ones with the custom titles. And why doesn't Alorael have a title yet? -------------------- Aces off. Posts: 611 | Registered: Friday, January 3 2003 08:00 |

Besides taking into consideration the emotional trauma of those who have to clean up after you, I'd also consider the emotional trauma of those who know and care about you. Think clearly. I think all of us know at least one person who has attempted suicide - for me it was my mother. Luckily, she didn't succeed, but I can't imagine how her friends and our family would have coped if she had. Even the fact that she tried to haunts me. I know this sounds abominably selfish, but suicide of relatives or close friends wrecks lives. If you must kill yourself, leave a well-written, detailed note - preferably one for each person whose life you think you'll affect. This isn't as major a concern if you're single, but it's still someting to think about. And bury your diary. Or don't keep one. Another thing - several people I know have requested that I assist their suicide should they suffer a stroke, be rendered a vegetable by drugs, etc. Would you do it? Could you do it? -------------------- Aces off. Posts: 611 | Registered: Friday, January 3 2003 08:00 |

1. Lots of people use PMs. I've received lots. But I don't think anybody maintains a buddy list. 2. Because the... hair... growing on their... body... warmed them enough that they didn't need any external protection. 3. I am a member of KSMtWGR. That's kind of like Mensa. 4. This question-answer list is just peanuts to 'Enquete', 'Enquete Revisited', and 'Sodium Cyanide's veteran w00t come party' topic. And I didn't ever think they were spam. Just goes to show. 5. Seaweed - At my old school, petty crime and drug use were extremely common- I'd say about fifty percent of the people I knew had commited one or the other. Please let me apologize for my assumption that everyone's life is identical to mine. I must say, however, I live in Canada, not the U.S., and a friend of mine went to New Zealand and France for a couple years of high school and he certainly confirmed that there was as much illicit activity going on there as there is here, so it really isn't an American thing (although american teenagers tend to be portrayed stereotypically as the elite in cocaine-addled joyriders). A note: I certainly don't think it's good to commit the sort of illegalities mentioned in this topic, but I definitely do think there are circumstances where it would be far wiser and even more ethical to break the law than to abide by it. Anyway, speaking for myself, I've done nothing more illegal than smoked a couple of joints and participated in a few rallies, but for the others, historically, the police and the government have done many things worse than the minor trespasses listed here. Speaking from experience, it really isn't worth seeing red over the minor thefts of a couple teenagers you've never met face to face. -------------------- Aces off. quote:There we are, stranger friend. Seaweed, no offence, but get over it. I bet half the people you know have commited (sp?) crimes along these lines. You in high school? Well then, there's no question about it. I'm not suggesting you should go out there and take LSD or shoplift or spraypaint your school, nor am I saying it's okay to do so. But "normal", "sane" people do do these things. Man. How old are you, anyway? -------------------- Aces off. Posts: 611 | Registered: Friday, January 3 2003 08:00 |
