Also, we haven't yet decided when the deadline is, so you'll have time. The rules will also pop up later, as soon as we've gotten them ready.

Hopefully we'll see a lot of new (and perhaps old) designers taking part in the contest!

The scenario designing categories will probably be about the same as Lyceums, as this is somewhat a pre-contest before theirs, to help you to use the scenario editor and to polish your scenario(s) up.

We're coming up with the rules still so just start your scenarios for now and don't send them in.

This is really pitiful. Have you considered putting links in your sigs instead of abusing the board for the sake of this contest which is only maybe an eighth finished?

I'm not saying I don't approve of it. I'm saying please keep this kind of conversation and advertisement to PMs/TCOA and your sigs, respectively. There's no reason to use the boards for it.

Or at least wait till it's finished. I'm not saying you shouldn't make announcements, this is General after all, and the thing concerned is spidweb-related, but I must say that I can understand it pisses people off if you post a half-finished announcement that you edited out because you haven't decided the rules yet. Just wait, and then post. IMAGE(Spiderweb Software Boards TCOA BoE Tournament Topic-Beta Testing_files/wink.gif)

If you were going to create a topic on this contest, why'd you go and advertise it in about two topics?

Sorry, my fault. I said it might be a good idea to announce the new forum in General, if Drakey agrees. Order Mage, did you ask him? Don't be so hasty.

The main idea behind this and the reason why Drakefyre moderates it, is to give beginners guidance and support in designing. Also, maybe, to attract those who'd like to design but find it too difficult to figure things out themselves. As it will all end up in a contest, beta testing will also be trained. The best scenario chosen is meant to participate in the next official BoE contest.

You need to give people waaaay more time before the deadline. Do you have any idea of the work behind creating a good scenario?

Um, even a really small, good scenario usually takes more than a month. Not including inspiration.

You can put something together within a two days. But you can't make me play it. IMAGE(Spiderweb Software Boards TCOA BoE Tournament Topic-Beta Testing_files/tongue.gif) Stuff with that short of a development time is usually similar in quality to the gri... well the you-know-what scenario. Rosycat, is there such a thing as the grisly bananamobile? Or did you make that one up?

No. There is not and never was, to the best of my knowledge, a scenario called 'The Grisly Bananamobile'. Now can we just drop it? IMAGE(Spiderweb Software Boards TCOA BoE Tournament Topic-Beta Testing_files/tongue.gif)
