Fascinating. Guess I'm not as up on BoE scenarios as I thought I was. I've been doing alot of other stuff lately, so if it isn't on Alcritas' review page, I probably haven't played it (not to sound pompous or holier than thou...I just mean that the review page is the one I tend to trust most). I saw the Echoes series on TM's site, but I hadn't gotten around to playing it. I don't think I've ever heard of Foreshadows up until now. -------------------- Fnord. Cool. Next question(also quickfire related). Will monsters be able to radiate all types of fields this time? I remember not being able to set 'radiate quickfire fields' or 'radiate blade fields'. I agree about quickfire and have complained about this in the past. I think we should change it's graphic, and use the current graphic for shock/force fields. There are tons of manuals for C and C++ programming, though many of them are made for specific programs (like borland, visual C++, codewarrior, etc). Yeah, I'm hoping those get done well. Not like the NPCs in BoE, which wouldn't follow you without special nodes, only leveled up if you gave the monster multiple forms or 'levels', and were as likely to fry you as the enemy if they were spellcasters. Yeah, same here. I made a couple of scenarios (BAD scenarios, though I think they're still up on spiderweb's first efforts table), but I'm waiting until BoA to the best ideas I have. Of all Jeff's posts, I don't think I've ever seen one confirming ambidexterity, so it's probably safe to assume that it isn't in. Anyway, goblin scenarios are just like any other: if they're well done, the story is good, and the cliches are kept to a minimum, then they're good. Otherwise, they're not. Anyway, they still don't seem to be as overdone as the 'evil vahnatai' scenario. I personally want to do something revolving around the GIFTSs. Lucky bizfish. I've still got a 56k crap modem (it actually gets more like 30k). Anyway, as far as a stand alone is concerned I'd advocate making it a seperate product, if it is made at all. It could run on the Avernum engine, but I think the release date on Blades of Avernum is late enough as it is ;) So I'd advocate making it some later product. I know I'd use a stand alone, at least I would if it were as user-friendly as BoE. While it is true that it isn't as user-friendly as it could be, as everyone and their mother points out, it is nonetheless alot better than similar products such as Divinity. -------------------- Fnord.
