I ate a hungry man dinner once, it was free with the rebate, so what the heck? It was actually pretty good, but it took me two days to eat it. It would have been tough to have it all in one serving.

You need to work up to it. With practice you can down almost anything. That's how Drakefyre can eat 5000 calories daily. Pratice makes gluttons.

I used to eat the Hungry Man seafood dinner all the time until Swanson discontinued it. :(

My favorite Hungry Man dinner was the fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and corn. But I heated up the chicken in the toaster so that it was still crispy.

I've seen Supersize Me. And I am unfazed. I know what my body can handle, and I very carefully monitor what I put in it. That said, I hate those kind of pancakes that look like they're CDs and feel like them too.

 I'd better start checking nutrtritonal information on stuff.

On the Supersize me theme, I want to see a movie of this stuff. It could be titled, "I'm a Hungry Man and That's OK" with every meal coming from a Swansons box.

The hard part might be finding an actor to do the script... or maybe getting insurance to cover that actors ills during the filming would be harder.

You're probably getting the wrong brand then. Boca Burgers taste somewhat close to real meat, although the smell is horrible. They're good with cheese, pesto and hot sauce.

Boca and Morningstar Farms both make vegetarian chicken patties. The taste is nearly indistinguishable from real chicken.

Don't get Stop & Shop's "Nature's Promise" soy burgers. They're disgusting.

As a vegetarian who rarely eats eggs, the article had very little impact on me. Ordinary, well-cooked meat is somewhat unappetizing but tolerable to be around, and although I suspect the odor of that stuff would be enough to turn my stomach, the appearance of the sausage, bacon and eggs don't perturb me.

The nutrition facts, of course, are thoroughly dismaying.

I will confess to having eating a few breakfasts of dubious nutritional merit in the past, mostly from the dorms when I inhabited them and from McDonalds. Really, breakfast in McDonald's is about the only full meal I can eat there. Three hash brown patties, some milk, cinnamon rolls...I'm salivating just thinking about it.

Breakfast in the dorms was even junkier, but tastier as well: several glasses of milk, several hash brown patties or a whole plate of hash browns (enjoyed with plenty of ketchup), a few assorted danishes or cinnamon rolls, and a few slices of melon for decency's sake. Tastes heavenly, of course, but I'd rather not speak about the indigestion that follows.

[/quote]I did once have some veggie burgers...and they were delicious! I wish I remembered what brand they were, I remember my teacher (yes, this was at school, I don't remember the exact name of the class, but it was a 7th grade home economics class) brought two flavors, one was pizza, and the other was(suprise) some sort of meat that I don't remember. All I remember was that the boxes had red, they required cooking, and they had a picture of the food on the front (presented as if they were real burgers, maybe?). I can't remember anything specific.

The nutrition facts on that stuff do not dismay me nearly as much as how it is made by Swanson's and thus tastes awful. :(

If you don't like fake meat, perhaps you should not be eating it. Nobody is asking you too.

For that matter, I don't understand why fake meat is expected to taste just like real meat. I understand why it should taste good, and I do in fact like some meat-substitute products. But if you're a vegetarian who craves meat there is something wrong with your vegetarianism.

They were Gardenburger. As for why I tried that s***, it's healthier. I might try Boca like you suggested.

Morningstar is generally pretty good. The fake chicken is certainly worth a shot. It tastes similar to chicken, but as Alorael said, it doesn't really matter; what matters is that it tastes good and is a hell of a lot healthier than anything coming out of a Swanson factory. I tried the ribs, though, and while I don't generally like real ribs, I'd much prefer them to the fake ones. Vegetarian meat, I guess, is hit-and-miss.

FYI: Gardenburgers aren't supposed to taste like meat at all. They're actually really good, but if you want meat, don't eat a Gardenburger. Also, if you try Boca burgers, don't be put off by the powerful odor emitted from the microwave while cooking it. It tastes better than it smells. It tastes sort of like meat, but not exactly. Don't expect it to taste like Angus beef or you will be disappointed.

I also like my Boca burgers with tomato chutney.

The proper term is "recovering carnivore" actually. And now I'm going to have to worry that all vegetarians who eat fake meat are going to go on cow-eating sprees.

Believe it or not, most atheists don't want anything more from their lives spiritually. Their lives are completely fulfilling. Isn't that a scary thought?

Sigh.

I was merely trolling for reaction. Thanks TM for getting it right.

The graemlin at the end was to signify mild humor at the expense of athiests. While some athiests may question spiritual matters on occasion I wouldn't presume it to be most/many/the rule. I also wouldn't use it as evidence the athiest is losing his/her athiesm. Similarly, if a religious person questions their God on occasion it doesn't necessarily provide evidence that their God doesn't exist.

I am sure many people live their lives in bliss without having a God need. Deists might say they have substituted other things for the hole that God would fill but that would be a discussion I am not willing to provoke.
