It may seem like that, but for every single participant in the battle the computer needs to calculate which enemy is weakest or attacked last, and what to do, and if you stick in fifty fighters for each side, that is a lot of decision making. Then it also needs to do all the graphics for the creatures moving both before and during the battle. While it wouldn't bog down newer computers, older computers may be pushed towards their limits.

The battle concept sounds interesting (I think there is a large battle in an Avernum game), but the "All sides decide to stop fighting for several months while a group of representatives from every single cult gather to have a peace talk that ends in a large battle between the shapers and rebels (no one else)" Is unlikely to happened. Also I think a large battle would be hard to survive and portray in turn based battles, not to mention it would just be too much thinking for some older computers.

The warrior really fits my playing style. I can create strong creations, I can hit hard in melee or with missiles, and it isn't extremely expensive to get a few basic spell skills, like blessing, for those long or tough fights.

Hey someone else with similar interests! I too would like to make an oozebeast. Though they lack in speed and power, they would make up for it by spraying acid. And they're cool.

Well, as someone else stated before me, not everything is going to be interesting. For some reason I found it strangely suspenseful, and interesting, seeing as the Spiderweb is just starting to notice that something is happening.

I can understand that last wish. Nymphs are forever young and beautiful. Though I don't doubt that you aren't beautiful, it's just the forever beautiful part.

Huh, I used to be big into Redwall too. I loved the ferrets, even though they were bad, and the badger warlords. I eventually became disenchanted when I realized all the plots follow the same outline. But I still don't see why a battle axe. wouldn't a mother of four be more inclined to wield something a little more feminine?

I like the idea of discussing it out of character, since that would allow for the most content. YOu could include creation and pc stats, suggested builds for each of the character types, and links to geneforge help stuff, to name a few.

By the way, I find it strange that Jewels' weapon of choice is the battle axe.

Off to the upperish left of Monarch's throne room area. There is a shaping platform in it, with a cupboard in the corner that you can't open when monarch is alive.

Right now I am taking:

1. Precalculus- Finished Sine/Cosine functions, reviewing for exam

2. Chemistry- In the middle of chemical bonding

3. Humanities III (Mix of English and History) Just finished Grapes of Wrath

4. Humanities III (Mix of English and History) wrapping up the Great Depression

5. Spanish I- Classroom objects! Yay!

6. Biology II- Studying the complexities of Photosynthesis

7. Advanced Music- Not nearly as challenged as I could be, but advanced music is the only music class that isn't guitar (that means the good get thrown in with the bad). We are currently doing individual projects.

I'll give anyone some guacamole and ornk meat if they can guess what year of high school I'm supposedly in.

First on random. Humans cannot create anything random. Computers cannot create anything random, because they were programed by humans. A monkey sitting down at a typewriter does not produce random script. It would favor some keys over others. My bottom line is that nothing that thinks, has insticts, or even has life can produce something random. If you have thought, instinct or life, and try to create something random you will create something that you can at least semi-comprehend. The closet thing that I can come up to for random is telling a computer to produce ten numeric digits, and the computer producing ten symbols that have no meaning.

Creationism (forgive my word choice). What seems to either be taken for granted or no included on this topic is that species do not spring into creation after some amount of time. A Neanderthal did not one day give birth to a Cro-Magnon. I takes a span of time humans cannot dream of comprehending to create a new species. In the human life time of 70 to 100 years, the only current species that would even have come close to changing would have been an insect or a rodent, and even then the change would be minute caused by a mutation, not nearly enough to become its own species. In fact that is how species come about, a mutation in the genes of an individual. If it is successful the individual survives and passes the trait on, and after several mellennia, once the gene has spread through enough individuals and the individuals can no longer reproduce with another branch from the same ancestor, a new species is born. This would be how life sprung up from micro organisms. One day some amoeba sprouts cilia, which let it move faster and catch more food, it is so successful that a new species arises from it. Then a causes some amoebas to grow larger than others, at the cost of speed. It is successful so a new species is born. Then a mutation in one of the smaller amoebas causes it to one day attack the larger slower amoebas. It is successful so a new species is born. Eventually it turns into what it is today.

Sorry about making that quote piramid, I just couldn't resist.

I have actually not tried A1-3, but I have tried BoA and N:G. I personally was used to the G4 engine, so I found the BoA engine hard to get used to. I never finished the demos, but lately I have been tempted to retry.

Ah, I did not know the results of going Trakovite after helping the rebels. I had a rebel game going on my old computer, but then I got my new one, and have not had time to start another.

Pitchblack said in his double post what I was thinking, but couldn't find the words for in #1 on his list.

Also I don't think it would be possible for a movies made out of G4 to be focused around other characters. They do not do enough to make it practical. What would be done about the caravan, Moseh, Monarch, the Five Infiltrators, Salassar, and the ending? With Moseh and Monarch, both sides are not willing to send anyone else to try unless you fail. Salassar I can see Greta could do that fight, but the caravan and the five infiltrators would still be relatively undecided.

Edit: Typo

It has come to a general concensus (maybe not) that the most likely setting for G5 will be the Trakovite ending, and unless the movie stray from the game, that would mean the main character for G4 would die at the end.

You even said so. Look...
quote:
I hope you mean "Who will win G4 to set the stage for G5?" and not "Who will win at the end of G5?", because if it's the latter, any faction could win if the player wants them to.

Dikiyoba actually thinks it will be the Trakovites. A Shaper ending ends the rebellion and a rebellion ending causes too much destruction, but the Trakovite ending is essentially a stalemate.
Taken from this.

Edit: typo, quote, hyperlink

Yeah, except the pc making all the decisions would be largely left out, what about using canisters, the class the main character is, and which side to support? And if we have predicted right, the main character would die at the end of G4. How would fans like that? Also the script for the movie/tv series would need to be approved by Jeff, and some extra things may finally need to be resolved (such as determining whether Monarch is the G1 pc).
