1) It's not impossible, I suppose. You'd need to include checks to make sure the party didn't teleport outside the town boundaries. Also, keep in mind that they may not end up quite where you expect in every case; the party placement algorithms are a little weird sometimes. 2) Not very well. You can only call move_to_new_town() from a special encounter rectangle. Also, please shorten your sig. It's obscene. quote:Presumably they can consent to sex with each other (or at least provide as much consent as is necessary given their capacity for understanding), so I don't think it's a huge leap from there to say that under certain circumstances they could be said to consent to sex with humans. Certainly the power difference is an issue (same reason that in many jurisdictions teenagers can have sex with each other but adults can't have sex with teenagers), but that's not an issue unique to sexual relations. Having sex sure as hell beats being butchered for food, anyway. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

Not a bug. You get 1000 gold to spend per experience level you gain, delivered in shots of no more than 30000 gold at a time. If Kel wanted you to have infinite money, he'd have just put the items in chests instead of making you shop for 'em. :P (Frankly, though, since there are no scenarios out there that reasonably require a level-75 party, you may as well just make a god party. Those get infinite money -- not that they need to buy anything.) My advice is to be careful with the spells you buy; it's easy to waste a whole bunch of money on high levels of spells you'll never use. Parry seems to reduce the damage you take from any kind of physical attack. I'm not sure exactly how it works, although I suspect it's a percentage chance of reducing damage by half or something, with the chance depending on the number of ranks of the skill you have. It does seem to cause a significant reduction in damage, and the requirements to train in it aren't too difficult to meet, so usually I get a few ranks at high levels. Riposte gives a chance (about 3% per rank of the skill) to get a free counterattack and inflict damage on a monster that hits you at melee range with a weapon. It has no effect against missile attacks, or against monsters using natural weapons (claws, etc). The damage isn't great, either; I'm not sure how it's determined, but it's usually much less than a normal attack. Overall, it's not really a very good skill. In my experience, the way to make a fighter is to keep your Endurance high enough to survive a full round of attacks from whatever you're fighting, and pump the rest of your skill points into your chosen weapon skill and Blademaster (after you've met the requirements for Blademaster, of course; it's probably best to try for Blademaster around level 35). Other skills like Assassination can be helpful too, but basically, a fighter's job is to take hits without dying; dealing damage is secondary to that. It'd help if you explained to us why you think something's wrong. What problem is occuring? Are you unable to place the item in the scenario using the editor, or does it not show up during gameplay when you do place it? One problem could be that your scenario's title is too long; I think bad things happen if the short title is more than a certain number of characters. Even if you "kill" the orb with the beam, you still have to destroy the machine properly in order to finish the scenario. -------------------- The Empire Always Loses: This Time For Sure! Posts: 9973 | Registered: Saturday, March 30 2002 08:00 |

It's hard not to be open-minded once you realise that the people you grew up with, the people closest to you, and you yourself, probably hold many preferences and opinions that society at large would, at best, ridicule and despise you for. From what I've seen, it's my opinion that the majority of people have at least a few socially unacceptable quirks that they mostly keep to themselves. That kind of secrecy may help us all interact with less tension, but it can make the world feel like an awfully lonely place sometimes. As far as the mistreatment of animals to serve human ends goes, I admit I'm far from an innocent party. I've performed a number of dissections and worked with various animal tissues in the course of my studies, and I've worked in a lab that experimented on animals. I do believe that the experiments were justified by the great potential value of the research (attempting to develop genetic therapies for muscular dystrophy). Even so, that doesn't make it any less unpleasant to have to kill mice in the course of one's work. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun! Roots Hunted! quote:There's a lot to dislike about people, and there's a lot to like about animals; it isn't surprising that there are people who prefer to spend their time with animals than with people. Nor is it surprising that there are people who want to express their love sexually, regardless of whether that love is directed toward a human or not. Depending on the kind of animal and the activity, having sex with it isn't necessarily going to cause it any suffering -- in fact, it's probably a lot less abusive than many other practices that are considered a normal part of animal training or pet ownership. Once you stop obsessing about how and why the various anatomical bits fit together (and really, you've pretty much done that already once you countenance any kind of activity other than heterosexual vaginal intercourse), bestiality isn't all that different from a lot of other kinds of sexual activity. -------------------- My BoE Page Bandwagons are fun!
