If you want to cheat and only use this once, you can count the steps on the path, create a step timer, and when it gets to step x, open door A, step x+2, close door A, step Y, open door B, step Y+2, close door B, etc. There are better ways to do this. You can put something in the creature script to check for doors around him. The things that I suggested are not dumbing down in any way - they're just putting a GUI onto the coding. I don't see what's so bad about that - I could whip something like that up in Java in about an hour and wouldn't lose any functionality. Just because you can't do it without sacrificing functionality, it doesn't mean that someone else can't. The GUI is what people want more than anything - they want a face on the code. The easiest way to play as a singleton is to focus on brute force and priest spells. Bulk up on strength and melee weapons and the first few levels of priest spells.
