One person make a list and other people weed out things that they think aren't feasible.

Spiderweb Software Code of Conduct for Moderators and Members
====
Members are expected to adhere to the Code of Conduct. Any minor infraction will result in a warning, while a major transgression will result in a final warning or banning, depending on the nature of the breach of the Code of Conduct and the administrator's discretion. Many minor infractions are also grounds for banning.

Members may receive the 'Canned' title as a warning. With that title or any other serious warnings, any further infractions are grounds for banning, either permanently or temporarily, at the administrator's discretion. Not all bans are permanent, and if a member can prove to an administrator that s/he deserves to be unbanned, even permanent bans can be lifted at the administrator's discretion.

If a member innocent of infraction is banned, please email an administrator to have the situation rectified.
====
Moderators are expected to uphold the Code of Conduct and warn members about any infraction which they commit. Any major transgression is to be reported on the Moderator Forum, so all moderators and administrators can deal with the member(s).

Moderators are not exempt from the Code of Conduct themselves. A minor infraction will result in a stern warning. A major transgression will result in probable revoking of his/her moderator status. Any two breaches of the Code of Conduct will certainly result in the removal of moderator status and possibly even banning.

Moderators have certain abilities which are not granted to regular members. Abuses of this power are categorized along with the list on major and minor infractions. There are certain exceptions, but a major part of being a moderator is using discretion and restraint. Exclaiming that a member has provoked him/her is not sufficient excuse for inappropriate behaviour.
====
Appropriate use of special powers granted to moderators is limited. Moderators can edit topics to remove something that is in violation of the Code of Conduct. Moderators can delete a single post in a topic if it violates the Code of Conduct. If the post is deleted, the member must be reported on the Moderator Forum, with the infraction described.

Moderators can lock and delete topics as well. They should only use such powers on topics that violate the Code of Conduct. If they do perform such an action, they must either describe the topic's infraction on the Moderator Forum or actually move the topic there.

Moderators also have the power the move topics to other forums. This will only be used to remove off-topic posts or show other moderators about a topic.

Members are solely responsible for all use of their accounts. Every offense committed by an account will be factored as a transgression on the part of the account, no matter who the perpetrator actually is. To prevent unwanted use by others, please use the Logout feature and protect your password.

Rules regarding the discussion of hacking Spiderweb Software games:i. Hex-editing is not to be discussed on the boards. What goes on outside of the boards is not our concern. Email each other; don't crowd board space.ii. Pandora's Box is relatively harmless, but discussion of Surfer's Serial and other similar products is prohibited.iii. Punishments will be dealt with increasing severity. If you solicit or distribute cracks or ways to get around registration, you will be banned. First-time hex-editing offenders will be warned.

Spiderweb Software of Code of Conduct for this Message Board We at Spiderweb Software want to provide a friendly place for people to meet and discuss our games. We want to provide our fans a chance to meet each other, get hints, or just kill a few minutes on the web. However, at the same time, we need to ensure that people don't behave in a way which reduces other people's enjoyment of the message boards. Also, just as importantly, we don't want to have to spend a lot of our very limited time (time that should be spent developing new games) disciplining people, mediating in squabbles, or finding lost passwords. Thus, this Code of Conduct. Please take a look at it before posting. All posts not conforming to the rules and guidelines within will be gleefully terminated. In general, you should always treat people in the boards the way you would want to be treated and not say anything you wouldn't say directly to the other members' faces. More specifically ... Spiderweb Software, Inc., reserves the right, but does not assume the responsibility, to restrict any communication which Spiderweb Software, Inc. deems in its discretion to be harmful to individual guests, damaging to the communities which make up the Spiderweb Software Community, or in violation of Spiderweb Software, Inc.'s or any third-party rights. Disruptive behaviors in the chat rooms include (but are not limited to): *Material that does not pertain to the room or bulletin board's given topic, and especially multiple posts from the same user that aren't relevant to the board's topic. *Any communication that is intended to harass, belittle, humiliate, threaten or cause embarrassment to a fellow member. (Please take the flame wars elsewhere.) *Vulgarity and hate speech (including words "masked" by using replacement characters or spread out with spaces or other characters). *Impersonation of another person or screen name (including "faking" a screen name by using similar-looking text characters). *Discussion of illegal activities. *Depictions of sexually explicit material. *Cross-posting and spamming (including "flooding" a chat room) by sending the same message, by wording or intent, to more than two boards or lists or inappropriate solicitations to any given list. Making meaningless posts to increase one's ranking will not be tolerated. If you are unsure of the appropriateness of a post, please contact the Spiderweb Software staff. *Unauthorized copyrighted material. *Advertising or any form of commercial solicitation. These disruptive behaviors are grounds for removal; the Spiderweb Software site administrator is the final judge of whether a guest's behavior qualifies as disruption. Other Guidelines There are only three of us, and we don't have much time. Developing games is very demanding work, and we really can't run these board if it will mean taking a huge amount of our development time. Thus, please bear these rules in mind ... i. If you lose your password, make a new account and remember your password this time. We get a LOT of new password requests, and we really don't want to fill them all. ii. If you don't get the E-mail with your password after forming an account, you probably typed in your E-mail address wrong. Try again with a new user name. iii. If you have a problem with a moderator, please tell us about it. If we get multiple complaints, we will look into the situation and take action. iv. The board rankings progress as follows: Apprentice 0 - 50 posts Citizen of Exile 51+We're sorry if these guidelines make us sound stern and uncaring, but our most important job, more important than anything else, is to make new games in a timely manner. Anything that makes this more difficult will not be encouraged or continued. This is, we feel, the best way to satisfy the bulk of our customers. So please, play nice. - Jeff Vogel[ October 02, 2001: Message edited by: Drakefyre ]
