Really, the only successful boards relating to Spidweb are (in order of appearance): 1) The Arena - massive RP/competition based on Exile that began years before these boards. 2) The Lyceum - the premier Blades of Exile board. 3) Spidweb - the company's own boards are bound to thrive. 4) Desperance - an alternative created by an already established community. Macs have a lot of staying power - I used a Quadra 610 for 8 years. G1 was the first generation of Macs, which used the 680x0 processor. Really, you don't have to touch the Terminal at all in Mac OS X. I haven't needed to in the year and some months that I've had my iMac. It's very graphically oriented and a completely different experience from Windows. There are a lot of programs for switchers run by apple, and transition is supposedly very easy, especially with some of the tools and PDFs Apple includes. You can recognize a person with their member number, their title, or their signature usually. For me, it's just uncomfortable to address TM as "Expanding Man" or Alec as "La Mort". In Geneforge 2 it's not happening, since its release is only a few weeks away. In BoA, perhaps, but Jeff has shown remarkable resistance to almost everything we suggest. There will be 2-3 more spells but no more 'real' weapon types. Yes, we will be able to have variables, although only string and integer, I think. There'd be scenario-wide, town-wide, and outdoor section-wide variables. I doubt that we'd have arrays, but to create something similar wouldn't be too hard. You know, Mac towers are just as expandable and tinkerable as PCs. *has a G4 iMac and use of a 12" G4 PowerBook. I prefer any scenario that allows the party to be evil. With Blades of Avernum, it should be relatively easy to offer the party several paths - the moral high road, going with the good guys, or even joining the "evil" side.
