This probably wouldn't qualify for a New Year's resolution, but if I get chosen for Windows G4 beta testing, I'll try to spend all my spare time on it. ;) Posts: 107 | Registered: Monday, December 4 2006 08:00 |

I would love to beta test windows G4, but I absolutely never give out my real phone number or address. Add the fact that I have a lack of technical experience, I would not do that well. But I would still love to beta test G4... I just have 3 questions to ask: 1. Will Spiderweb Software ever contact me via phone? 2. Will Spiderweb Software ever use the provided address in any way? 3. Is it possible to fill in the form and leave out some areas? (Phone and address.) And yes, I know, I am absolutely paranoid. Disabling Cheats (G3) in Geneforge Series

I don't think it's possible, maybe because I typed the code wrong or maybe because G3 is glitched or something. But try this: In game, press Shift-D, which will bring up a box. Then type nomorecheats. Hit enter (or click the accept checkmark), and if some text appears, then you have disabled cheats. I'm not sure if this is relevant, but in G3, in the Breeding Valley (Isle of Spears SE), there is a rotghroth to the NW that would only drop putrefied gauntlets (8 % Protection, -2 STR, -2 DEX, +20% Acid Resistance, +4 Spellcraft) if you had enough luck. The required amount of luck was somewhere between 4-9. Posts: 107 | Registered: Monday, December 4 2006 08:00 |

I think Shapers using canisters can show some control over how many they use, so I believe they can use 6. They should make 6 powerful canisters, so after learning from a trainer, they can gain 1 point to learn the upgrade of a creation. That could be a effective way for shapers to make creations and give themselves a great advantage. Posts: 107 | Registered: Monday, December 4 2006 08:00 |

Get the best of both sides! Be a Loyalist who uses all canisters, gets all alterations and shapes them self. Then, after 5-6 canisters, use the the Shift-D and put in this: sdf 100 4 0. That is the sdf that says you used 0 canisters. Make sure you also use that before you leave the islands via boat (endgame). If you can't stand to cheat at all, then don't use this sdf. Its not really a cheat, or have I ever tested it, but it might work. Posts: 107 | Registered: Monday, December 4 2006 08:00 |

Interesting concept for a poem, but check your spelling, and I don't see most poems with question marks in them. Posts: 107 | Registered: Monday, December 4 2006 08:00 |

Argh, I didn't finish looking through Spirit City in G1 (it was one of the only two or three zones I didn't completely go through.) Thats why I don't know much about shaper origins... Now I don't have a save file of G1 anymore... :( Posts: 107 | Registered: Monday, December 4 2006 08:00 |

quote:That is an excellent ballad. I would not use canisters, provided that: 1. I'm a Loyalist Extremist. 2. There are a lot of good, cheap trainers (e.g. Gretchen and Khyrhk.) 3. I have (Loyalist) access to powerful spells and creations, e.g. ability to shape drayks, cryodrayks, ur-glaahks, and spells such as essence orbs and strong daze. 4. It would be a bonus to be allowed to have alterations or otherwise be shaped. 5. An added bonus if I could use the Geneforge without losing my humanity and going insane. 6. It would also be a bonus to have a good ending . :) Posts: 107 | Registered: Monday, December 4 2006 08:00 |

We actually can't give away too many canisters. They should only be a reward for a great achievement, such as killing a leader. Too many canisters would cause addiction and extreme destabilization. After playing through more areas of G3 that I normally avoid, I'm seeing problems with the rebels working together. The factions need to be divided, one for serviles and one for creations. Shapers should also start to partake in canisters and alterations, providing they can make it "safe", which is a great challenge. Posts: 107 | Registered: Monday, December 4 2006 08:00 |

I really like canisters. I'm pro canisters, regardless of whatever opinion I need to make. I usually play powergamer type with all canisters, all alterations, and if possible, use the Geneforge. Where does one upgrade Alwan's Attack? in Geneforge Series

Alwan will leave you if you repair Dhonal Island's creator. I'm not sure about the opinions (reputation score), however. Upgrade Alwan's attack at Inner Keep from Sciolino, I believe it was about 700 gold, or free if you are helping Lord Rahul and you have leadership. The 2nd time is at Gull Island, in the Breeding Caverns, talk to shaper Jolhna in the SE. He will upgrade Alwan's blade to physical with acid splash. It will cost 4000 coins, or 2000 if you have sufficient leadership. However, in my humble opinion, Greta is stronger than Alwan... But thats just my opinion, and Alwan really shows his usefulness at the Isle of Spears, damaging many monsters with high resistances. Hope this helps. :) Posts: 107 | Registered: Monday, December 4 2006 08:00 |

Ah, ET has convinced me. However, I always love to abuse canisters and I use the Geneforge at every chance (even if it causes my death), so my opinion may be badly biased. Posts: 107 | Registered: Monday, December 4 2006 08:00 |

Interesting. In GF 3, if you start a character and you erase the name, hence a nameless PC, when you start the game, your name becomes "Aleister". I wonder why... Posts: 107 | Registered: Monday, December 4 2006 08:00 |
