1: Are you joking? Nija. 2: Spartan's were often described as the "perfect warriors". Spartans were trained from the day they were born to be nothing be soldiers. Things like art, music and school were not included. If it wasent to do with excersise or hitting something it wasent included. Then again the Viking has the advantage of iron and just possibly steel weapons, Spartan has at best Bronze plate. 50/50. 3: Wizard can level up to a good 100. Shaper has 40. Wizard can hit eight targets at once with most of his sopells, only one Shaper spell can do the same. Shaper energy rus out after a few castings, Wizard can last for hours. Shaper creations are constant but drain essance. Wizard can summon a half-dozen each turn with the arcane. Shaper can cast things like spine shield and war blessing. Wizard has Arcane Warrior, Arcane shield and beast ceremony. Wizard, hands down. 4: Samurai can shoot the knight or his horse. Once on foot the incredibly agile and well-trained Samuri can run absolute rings around the knight weiged down with plate armour. Samurai. 5: I'm going to toss a coin here. -------------------- First person to call me a mercenary gets necromatized. Posts: 942 | Registered: Sunday, October 8 2006 07:00 |

I played through in a rather differant order... I found a crystal soul almost by accident, took off on the kill Garzahd and did just that. With my new super-powered party finding the last two crytal souls and defeating their defenders was easy. Then I spent about a month mulling over the Portal quest then found out the riddles and turned it to scrap. -------------------- First person to call me a mercenary gets necromatized. The problem is that the basic rules on a "Strong Magic, average shaping" (Is that the right one?) would give you an insane advantage without some major reduction in other areas. -------------------- First person to call me a mercenary gets necromatized. I never said I didn't like the way you do things here, in fact I'm inspired. Javlins were meant to bend or break on impact so they coundn't be thrown back. Romans hack at things. Celts can still hack at things but have the awsome power of spellcraft. A good heartstrike or Doom (Not played much on NR yet) will turn a roman patrol into quivering jelly without firing a shot. No contest. -------------------- First person to call me a mercenary gets necromatized. Posts: 942 | Registered: Sunday, October 8 2006 07:00 |

My friend you have just revealed the exact reasons why I only plyed A4 through once. But you have missed out a few points (Forgive me if I missed them, I skimmed a few bits) A4 I think was more an experiment. It did lack the beauty of the Exile and Avernum series while not opening itself fully to the power of the Geneforge series. I most certainly wouldn't call it a faliue but it dosent have the homeliness of Exile or the Story-Line of Geneforge. I do honestly hope they get rid of the avernum movment system in A5, it just does _not_ make the game better in any way with that style of graphics. What I really want is to see another game with Avernum's graphics engine. I miss them almost painfully at times. -------------------- First person to call me a mercenary gets necromatized. There are times when I wonder if people post things about me because they have nothing better to do or to increase their post count. Or maybe to provoke me into relying. It means that either everyone hates me or they find me mildly amusing. At least I'm not that "oh plz like me mighy gods plez plez" type Ed was. Well, I hope not. -------------------- I have just realised I have reached 200 posts. The problem is I have absolutely no idea how I made them! Posts: 942 | Registered: Sunday, October 8 2006 07:00 |

Yes. Ring of Blaze or Blaze Ring. You get it APF for a ruby. It casts a level 50 Fire-bolt once per day (I think) and can be equipped. It can't be used while equipped but can when its lying in your pack. Seems kinda ilogical.. -------------------- Just to annoy Alo... Posts: 942 | Registered: Sunday, October 8 2006 07:00 |

Ur-Drakons are god creations. They are insanely hard to get and cost an amazing ammount of essance but once got all you really need to do is walk into an area, cast Essance armour/Augmentation on it then let it loose. Apart from opening doors the PC will never be needed. -------------------- I have just realised I have reached 200 posts. The problem is I have absolutely no idea how I made them! I play Neverwinter Nights a lot and a friend of mine designs modules for it. Recently I've been thinking "Has anyone ever thought of making a Spiderweb Mod?" such as the Avernum map for an NWN module. I think it could be big since NWN's hak packs and modiblity would allow such things as horses, new spells etc etc. Just a thought but I'd certainly play. Kinda reminds me of the old "If you won a million dollars" threads. -------------------- I have just realised I have reached 200 posts. The problem is I have absolutely no idea how I made them! You boys are mean, be nice. Wiz, the good thing to remember here is that it's just a forum. A forum with a lot of odd geeks who spend their time playing old-style RPG's and spamming. Anything you hear about Alorel, sniper rifles, Richard White, the Xian skull, the button in black-crag fortress, goats, swarms of noobs, any kind of huge dogs with orange eyebrows, fog, summoning machines, were-rats, demons, undead, dragons, ferrets, neddles and ferrets, Zorro, Iichi (sp), Galactic Core, Richard Black, cults, necromancy, member number #4, mindless spirits, rats, GIFTS, GIFTR, Nukes, green things with teeth, spam, edible spam, compustable spam, flammers, trolls, Ed, Arghhhhhhhhh and mysterious figures clad all in red with a pinch of salt. -------------------- I have just realised I have reached 200 posts.
