Yeah, there's something disturbing about Alo's spider.

Yeah, I was gonna say… that spider looks slightly creepier than the rest.

Except maybe Dikiyoba's spider. That's pretty creepy lookin' too.

EDIT: Oh! You know what Dikiyoba's spider reminds me of? GIFTS!

Meh, depends on the day, and even then, the time. I'll be gone the 26th and 27th. I'd use my laptop, but for some reason I have trouble gaining access to local wireless networks. Something about requiring a password that I don't have.

Plus I have work most of the time when I'm in town.

I'm up for a chat on January 1st, 12:00 AM or so U.S. Pacific time…

I also considered (very briefly) minoring in music. But I don't think that goes too well with game and simulation programming, and I'm not a good enough musician to even consider it a career choice.

Did you check the PC/DOS side? The mac side is not frequently updated. I can tell you there are many more Spiderweb game FAQs than Averman's A1 FAQ out there now (outside of Avernum 1, anyway). For Avernum 1 Silver's pages were all that was ever needed.

Ah, that's true. I forget that Macs are vastly in the minority. And yes, I found Silver's guides to be about the most useful thing out there.

I think so. I've heard that song a couple times before.

Actually, I imagine there's a number of songs with that title. The one I was thinking of is by the RX Bandits.

If you don't find what you're looking for there, you can ask us questions in the related forums. Always check the links first, though.

That said, welcome to Spiderweb. Leave your sanity at the door. Don't expect to see it again.

It's the hardest question for me to answer twice a year (Christmas and birthday). I can always think of something I want until the question arises.

An iPod would be nice, but I know I'm gonna hafta get that for myself.

My major is actually game design. That said, if I ever get a break from the G.E. classes, maybe I'll have a chance to get a little experience in that on my own, by way of BoA scripting. Prior knowledge is a good thing.

mung (also mung bean)
noun
1. a small round green bean
2. the tropical Old World plant that yields these beans, commonly grown as a source of bean sprouts

There. That should make them seem even less threatening.

You know, I wanted to play through all of the scenarios with my regular party (which, regrettably, is now quite broken, due to one "Undead Valley" that has been the bane of many an existance). However, some scenarios stood in my way.

A Large Rebellion:
Despite several attempts at download, several files turned up missing for a long time. I finally got said files, only to find out that the damn thing can't be completed anyway, due to an unrepairable scripting error. (Well, maybe someone could fix it, but I strongly recommend not wasting time on such.)

Nephilim Mystery:
It's a strange fate that even my grossly broken and overleveled party consistently falls victim to a seemingly unconquerable mob of reproducing dark wyrms, or something of that nature.

Shall I add Shipwrecked to this list of unsurmountable obstacles? Perhaps I shall.

NOTE: Anyone who has finished either of those two scenarios, please, do tell. I'm curious to know how it was done.

If you did survive hitting the other side, you might be able to walk around because of the Earth's rotation. It might be hard, though, because I don't think the Earth rotates fast enough to "hold" you against the Earth very hard even at the equator.

I suddenly got this bizarre vision of people walking around the inside of the earth like a giant rat wheel.

More or less on topic, I think it's fairly safe to dismiss many of the misunderstandings on these boards (or any, for that matter) as being 'lost in translation'. Can we all agree that communication is much more physical than verbal? Without the physical part, everything is pretty much taken out of context, which isn't necessarily safe to do.
