quote:Close. They are not ordered to not interfere, but unlike our brazen hierarchy, they prefer to keep it so that no one knows they exist. They do tend to keep to a non-interference style of management, but this only applies to direct interference. They decided the outcome of the battle between Seoth and Geltor a long time ago. Also, one last note. The deities I'm referring to is on a hierarchy between our hierarchy and the blockade deity's hierarchy. -------------------- Scenarios need reviews! I replied, Ephesos. Also, a quick explanation of Avin's last words. When Avin is talking about the pantheon, he's not talking about the other gods and goddesses, but rather something more like a Mount Olympus. A home and central meeting hub for the gods, essentially. Obviously, Avin has been unable to contact it. Also, this plays further into the higher deities. In fact, the whole thing plays into the higher deities plotline. And before you ask, no, the white-haired woman is not one of them, nor is she a deity of any kind or hierarchy. -------------------- Scenarios need reviews! Avin seemed taken aback about something. "You defeated...? Never mind, not important. I don't really know who she is; she definitely isn't a deity, but she most certainly isn't mortal, or at the very least, normal. She's just as immortal as you or I from what I can tell, if not more so. That blast of energy she took didn't even leave a scratch on her." Avin became rather disconcerted from those last words. The idea that a mortal would hold more power than himself wasn't something that would sit well with any deity. "She's at least my age, suggesting some sort of supernatural intervention, be it magic or divine. Thing is, though, is that, aside from when she's actively using a spell, I can't sense any sort of aura around her. It's like the power to fuel her spells and impervious nature come elsewhere. Admittedly, I can't feel auras well. But, standing here, I can still feel yours, if only slightly." "Fine. What do you want?" Sliros asked impatiently. "Just answers for these three questions. First, who are you? Second, what did James want with you? And, most importantly, I know that, until recent generations, gods could contact the pantheon. The real pantheon, not the temple located here. I have apparently been unable to contact it for the better part of 200 years. At first, I attributed this to losing touch with the modern world, but with what seems to be happening, I need to know: have you been in touch with the pantheon?" quote:What's gotten into you lately? Is there some compulsive need on your part to be condescending to anyone with a member number higher than 7000? Anyway, you could try to edit the flag. Only problem is that I don't know of a comprehensive SDF list for A3, which means that you'd basically be guessing. And with a 1 out of 2,250,000 chance to set the right flag to the correct value, odds are pretty low you'd hit the right one, considering that there's also a 1 in 3 chance you'd hit the wrong one and completely mess up your game. So go ahead and try it, but backup your save file first. EDIT: Oops, wrong direction. [ Thursday, May 31, 2007 17:50: Message edited by: Nioca ] -------------------- Scenarios need reviews! I really don't think LF or Nylad can be blamed for what's transpiring here. If you really look at it, no matter how you do it, it always comes back to Safey. If he hadn't have joined: That mage town wouldn't have been destroyed, which kicked off a lot of the arguments about being overpowered. There wouldn't be the constant threat of impending doom, thus easing the tension most of the characters and, by proxy, players are feeling.Players wouldn't have to be concerned with mentioning a bigger threat in the distant past.Nylad and LF wouldn't have to use equally ridiculous responses to Safey's ICs, and wouldn't have to drag their characters down to deal with it.We wouldn't have uber-armies running around, destroying everything in sight. This RP would probably be a whole lot better than it is now.Plain and simple. Sounds fine to me, LF. On a sidenote, Avin has a similar ability. However, it's more of an emphatic link to each member of his tribe, which involves basic telepathy (aka: no image sending). -------------------- I tried to think of something witty to put here. Are you placing them with code or the editor? Because you can stack any sort of stain you can imagine in the editor, assuming you don't hit the total stain limit. You can only have a certain number of stains in a single town. -------------------- I tried to think of something witty to put here. Needless to say, I failed. First off, Muffin, he wants to play with a singleton. Secondly, it is possible to avoid almost all melee combat. However, I'd suggest dropping pole weapons and increasing melee weapons. Shields are far better for mages than a weapon that will do a smidgeon more damage. Finally, at all costs, avoid putting points into assassination. It's only useful for people that go into melee frequently. Oh, and increase your intelligence. It'll boost several resistances, add a little extra power to all spells, and give a small bonus to certain skills. Any decent mage/priest should have at least 6 intelligence by this point, if not more. One last note: if you've completed VoDT (which, judging from your level, you have), just move on to a different scenario. -------------------- I tried to think of something witty to put here. There's a few new spells you can get in the School of Magery, but aside from that, what were you really expecting? It's a L1 scenario. Higher level scenarios contain more and better spells. -------------------- I tried to think of something witty to put here. Needless to say, I failed. Here's an idea that, while quite a bit tamer, would also probably be far more feasible. How about the ability to shape specific abilities into a creation that can be improved like a regular skill? For example, you could shape spines into a Thahd, or you could shape an ability into a Fyora that allows them to spit at multiple targets at once. A Battle Alpha could be trained an a ability that stuns the target every time they're hit, and the War Trall could throw acidic rocks. And so forth. -------------------- Scenarios need reviews! "Well," Avin said dryly, "Whether it's rantings about demonic creatures or dirty novels, one thing's for certain: the people of Kirwood hold a morbid fascination for the nether regions." "It's going well, lord?" Gulix asked tentatively. "Let's see. I've got James trying to recruit me into his anti-demon brigade, I have demons that obviously aren't afraid of sending minions into one of the most god-populated areas this side of Kalandha, there's some sort of butterfly goddess who is trying to rope me into some sort of freakish marriage with James and herself, there's a strange god here in Joth I know nothing about, I have a killer woman who's after me and, knowing my luck, probably isn't dead, and here I am, looking through the volumes of sexually deprived individuals hoping to find something that may or may not hold the key to our existence. So no, it is not going well." Avin continued flipping through books while Gulix remained silent. Finally, he spoke. "Perhaps you should meet the strange god." "Perhaps. It'd be better than searching through another one of these," Avin waved another dirty novel in the air, and then threw it aside. Then, on second thought, he retrieved the book and handed it to Gulix. "Tell you what; stop by the temple and drop this off with James. Considering the strange thing he has going on with Yumi and whoever that Serena is, he might need its contents." "You really are at... zit's end, I think you call it?" "Wit's end, Gulix. And yes, I am. Come, now, deliver that to the temple and head back to camp. I'm going to have a talk with that god I saw earlier." Gulix nodded his head and left. A brief moment after his departure, Avin stood up and also exited. The streets of Joth were cold and silent, broken only by the sound of Avin walking towards the spires where he originally spotted the god. He could tell that he was important in some way, but he couldn't help but get the feeling that he was going to regret this. Suddenly, he saw a shadow. It was indistinct at first, but it quickly grew in size and clarity. Gripped by a bit of paranoia, he cast an invisibility spell. Soon, his fears were soon realized as the woman from earlier stalked back towards the better sections of Kirwood. Avin froze in his tracks; he knew that as long as he made no sound, she wouldn't be any the wiser of his presence. She approached within mere feet of where Avin stood. Seconds seemed to drag on to minutes as Avin tensed for action; he wasn't going to get caught off-guard this time. Fortunately, the woman passed Avin without incident or notice. Avin waited until she was a very good way off, then finally breathed a sigh of relief and started moving again. He sped his pace up to a jog, wanting to get to the spires before something else could interfere. However, disappointingly, the god was nowhere to be found. Avin paced amongst the spires as they continued to repair themselves, looking for him. But he was nowhere to be seen. Resigned, Avin leaned up against a nearby house and waited. Sooner or later, that god would come by again. -------------------- I tried to think of something witty to put here. Needless to say, I failed.
