Anyone who's paid attention to the Legends of Divinity RP has probably noticed that the last IC thread was damaged in a UBB attack. Thanks to Arancaytar, we still have all the IC posts that were lost here in his archive. This new thread has been created to avoid any instability in the old one. As usual, direct all Out of Character/Context comments here. And thus... --------------------------------------------------- IC: It was truly a marvel how, in this age of advancement, such an effective weapon as the blowgun could be so unnoticed. Perhaps the connotations with primitive, barbarous tribes had something to do with it. Either way, Avin had no such qualms. Cloaked with a spell of invisibility, he stealthily sniped at passing demons with darts from the roof of the temple of the gods. He hoped that James's army showed up soon; he only had so much ammunition, and he was hardly leaving a dent in the opposing forces. Then he saw an opportunity; one of the field commanders. Loading an unusual, long bore dart with a special enchantment, he took aim at the demon and fired. The dart whistled through the air, and embedded itself in the demon's neck. It then exploded, fatally wounding the demon and knocking a few others unlucky enough to be nearby off their feet. It wasn't a particularly strong explosion, but it did what it was supposed to; the demon expired within a few seconds. Satisfied, he loaded another dart and continued sniping. However, he soon had only one dart left; a particularly strange one, adorned with cyan feathers. He loaded it and looked for a target. Spotting the Serena look-alike, he took aim again and fired. Unfortunately, the second the dart left the barrel, Geltor moved into the dart's flight path. It struck one of his swords and broke, releasing a cloud of frost into the air. The frost harmlessly dissipated. Geltor's attention, however, did not. He saw straight through Avin's invisibility, and moved for him. -------------------- Scenarios need reviews! No, I meant that we continue as we were as if nothing happened. He had it for probably an hour. Unfortunately, the Pied Piper Updater-thingy (not exactly sure how it works or what it's called) was still running, and it quickly got overwritten. I was hoping that there might be a buffer which still held the lost ICs, but I'm now doubting it. I say that we just keep pressing on, and if any questions arise, we answer them as they were in the lost ICs. In a new IC thread, of course. -------------------- Scenarios need reviews! I noticed. You know what's weird? I had an odd desire to archive the entire IC RP thread yesterday. Now I wish that I had actually done it. But anyway, I think we need to move to a new IC thread. I've noticed that threads that have this happen tend to remain unstable. Maybe all is not lost, though. Maybe the lost ICs are still available to Arancaytar. Arancaytar... Please tell me you've archived the RP. Because the board seems to have deleted the last two pages in the IC. EDIT: Oh, thank god. EDIT: Apparently, UBB is being a pain in the butt again, so just type in the following in Google: quote:That includes the quotation marks. Also, I found this on Wikipedia, which led me to this. Avin paced. He was getting nervous from waiting. As he paced, he was planning what he was going to do. He discarded the idea of fighting Geltor's army quickly. It would likely leave him weak when he faced Geltor himself. No, he would leave that to James and his forces. He would go right for Geltor. One quick, surgical strike to banish Geltor back to the nether realms. One-on-one, him versus Avin. Yes, that could do it. Seoth might even be able to help him, assuming he wasn't busy with the army of demons as well. Avin continued pacing, then drew his sword experimentally spun it vertically once. His years with the Ishnu had been beneficial indeed; before, he wouldn't have even considered wielding a sword. Now, he could use it like a seasoned veteran. There were others that were certainly better, but it definitely was enough to put up a good offensive. Avin still paced, though his now-drawn weapon was alarming some of the brave townsfolk that had decided to cautiously look around at the carnage of rodents. Avin's pacing took him past the temple, where he caught a glimpse of... Serena? He stared at her, and instantly knew her for what she was: an illusion. This was probably the demon that killed her. And he saw that the demon was staring right back. They both knew each other for what they were. He could see terror and hatred growing in the demon's eyes, as it waited for him to make the first move. Avin seriously considered going after the demon and striking it down here and now. But common sense ruled out, and he strided past without so much as a comment. He headed for the city walls, and climbed onto them. He saw that James's forces appeared to be rallying and headed towards Kirwood. He saw his tribe in the distance, departing quickly. And he saw an unusual, fiery form detaching itself from a nearby forest. He suddenly felt a surge of energy nearby, unholy energy of incredible proportions. He quickly got down from the walls, and again twirled his sword. Glancing around, he thought he saw the white-haired woman again, but when he got a good look, she was nowhere to be seen. Avin hoped she wouldn't get involved in the battle. He adjusted his thoughts back to the impending battle, then, focusing on an enchantment, he channeled holy energy into his blade. It was temporary, but it'd be enough. Yellow conduits of energy flowed up and down the blade, weaving in eccentric patterns. He braced himself for what was to come. The battle had begun. -------------------- Scenarios need reviews! Please rate these scenarios at the CSR after playing them! First off, is it Kirwood or Kirkwood? I thought it was Kirwood, but is it? Second, the balance seems to be getting a little lopsided when it comes to forces. We have at least 5 gods of varying power against Geltor. Admittedly, with Mangoka-what's-his-name involved, the fight will be a tiny bit more even, but he still would end up facing at least 5 gods at once, which sort of makes it obvious who would win. And that's assuming that Sliros, Ashataro, Noric, Luarazial, and Marras don't join the battle. Of course, Seoth could join the opposing side to preserve a balance, but I don't see him doing that. EDIT: Unless Krasonva and Seoth go at it immediately, thus removing them from the fight. But that still leaves the odds a little lopsided, especially if Sliros joins. Michigan just tends to have severe thunderstorms. Sure, you get your occasional tornado (in fact, there was one that ripped the roof off of the high school where I live), but there's rarely a full-scale disaster here. Flooding isn't too common, and we tend to be prone to droughts, which seems sort of odd considering that we're surrounded by 3 of the 4 Great Lakes (Lower Peninsula). -------------------- Scenarios need reviews! Lights continued to strobe across the Channeler. Avin had devoted a tiny part of his mind for waiting on his warriors to arrive. They had; he could sense them. However, he could also sense confusion. He continued to the point where he could safely leave it without it destabilizing, and then mentally contacted them. "What's wrong?" "Well," replied one of the warriors, "So far, we have been unable to find the demon rabbit. We've slain plenty of ordinary rabbits, but no demon rabbit." "Odd... I'll see what's going on. Carry on until further notice." Avin broke contact, and heard a weird noise outside. Seoth addressed Avin. "Why did you stop? What is wrong?" "I don't know... but I'm going to find out." Casting an invisibility spell on himself, he poked his head through the illusionary wall just in time to see Serena get killed by a demon. Avin stared in shock, and saw him rush to the demon altar he had used. He saw another demon and what looked like a human, though he couldn't be sure. The two demons had a heated exchange, and the injured one rushed off. He then saw the other demon say something, and a new demon, what could only be the demon god Geltor, appeared by the altar. He quickly contacted the warriors. "Something terrible is happening. Demons are appearing, and they likely are about to attack Kirwood itself. Girk, go warn the town guard about this threat. Molk and Hrish, I need you to warn Sliros and James respectively. Sliros can be found in Joth, and James is somewhere outside the city. Dearn, Rikish, Pelk, Fara, and Yuni, come to the temple, but remain inconspicuous. I don't want to show our hand before we have to. The rest of you, I want you to go back to camp, and get everyone as far away from here as you possibly can. I don't care what Gulix says, I don't want you to die needlessly." Avin broke away from the contact before he could even get a reply in the affirmative. He suddenly realized that, in all this, he had no clue where Seoth was. Then he found that he particularly didn't care at the moment. There were bigger problems at hand. Avin quickly headed for the entrance of the temple. He found that the requested warriors were there, blending in as best they could. He quickly cast an invisibility spell over them and told them to guard the Channeler inside to the exclusion of all else. He then moved to the center of town, where he closed his eyes and started consolidating his energy. He had a feeling he'd need it. 1. Have you found Orrin's Broadsword? No. 2. Have you found the Defender's Blade? No. 3. Have you brewed a Panacea? A what? 4. Have you eaten raw nightshade? Yes. In fact, I ODed on it at one point. 5. Have you ever become an unstoppable warrior (temporarily)? Yes. See Q4. :P 6. Have you found alchemy equipment? The one under the sleeping pad, but that's it. 7. Have you trained with a highlander? Not sure. 8. Have you worn rusty armor? I used that for the entire scenario. 9. Have you discovered the truth about Abominations? What truth? That they're a pain in the [censored], or that they were designed by a wizard who wanted energy-sucking intelligent constructs? 10. Have you finished the scenario with the prefab? Yes. Did I do it without resorting to the Character editor? No. (I think I boosted my strength no less than 4 different times, though I didn't know that you were supposed to stay in combat.) -------------------- Scenarios need reviews!
